Couldn't the argument made by beast to justify wiping out an entire nation be used to justify human persecution against mutants? There are billions of humans vs millions of mutants and they lost their spot as the apex species with the rise of krakoa. Sounds pretty hypocritical to me.

So Rob is saying we should ignore that at no point can humanity be more inhumane than when we are convinced we are right and others are wrong. Always pushing to see everything as only having good ending (Beast's actions) and bad ending(this group wipes out mutants). Ignoring many other possibilities. We've seen many times how far Beasts new philosophy can lead. Ignoring the long term consequences this could have for Krakoa for short term gains. Such as what happens if their actions come to light. These are far from only threats Krakoa faces. He misses these threats aren't separate from the mutants. The more extreme they see the nation of Krakoa being the more extreme their enemies become in return.

Machiavellian approaches are only reliably in the most desperate of circumstances. When there are no other choices for the desired results. Beast's taking this approach contrasts against the rise of Krakoa itself in the Powers of X series where after 10 lives, there was no other choice. It could be asked "what if Beast did nothing?" Of course something could've been done, but the true problem is that Beast had additional desires than just the main one. That's why he did it the way he did it, and failed. 1. Yes He could've done something different. 2. He had an additionally selfish focus. Machiavelli himself didn't even live what he preached...of course it wasn't for him, it was for his leadership...but the irony is that in delivering this method, even he wasn't desperate enough to force his point.

There is a Power Man and Iron Fist story from way back with similar plant themed villains. It's on their first visit to K'un Lun and it's a double size issue. Worth a look.

I wish in future attack on Titan writer could write a X-Men run. I can't begin to imagine what can he start to do with X-Men characters.

I hated what they did with Domino. They made a huge deal of her torture and his relationship with Colossus, saying that she didn't want to be revived, she wanted to keep living with her scars. But then, out of the blue, she appears revived 😕 So underwhelming.

From what I remember of Mikhail Rasputin is from X-Men Legends 2 Rise of Apocalypse where he makes a ridiculous amounts of copies of himself and they all jump your team. It gets even more crazy on hard mode. I remember being stuck on that boss for a whole month.

I feel like a lot of the plant storyline was a homage to the movie "Annihilation". Especially the way the dad died on the wall with the plant thing growing out of him... And the plant life creating its own animalistic creatures.

Probably going to involve how fishy Colossus has been acting. Also shouldn't be overlooked that this story helps add to the overarching dialogue about the ethics of resurrection

I believe that Krakoa is controlling Professor X and the Beast (plus one or two others), and is responsible for making Franklin Richards X gene go dormant, not be "removed." I believe that Franklin Richards, with his father, is the one person who can stop Krakoa. from its ultimate goal

I’m going to ask a (probably really stupid) question, and hopefully you guys don’t lay into me too hard for it: Rob has been calling this whole event the “X of Swords”, but I’m wondering if it’s actually supposed to be called the “Cross of Swords” or “Ten of Swords” instead. My reasoning for this is that while while all X-Men stories tend to have the letter “X” in them, there are times that it’s actually represented something else. In Roman numerals, as most everyone knows, it represents the number 10, and the story is about a destiny concerning 10 mythical swords, and the “10 of Swords” is a known Tarot card. On the other hand, in the eastern hemisphere, Japan especially, “X” is often used as a short-hand for the word “Cross” (such as in “Street Fighter X Tekken”), and the phrase “Crossing Swords” is a common term for a conflict. I might just be overthinking this, and it might just be my personal bias, but I kinda felt like this needed to be asked.

The telephoronic reminds me of that one movie annihilation, the way it twist and alters things by bonding and ultimately created it's own mimic life forms🤔

So basically this story is a defense for Black Ops, pre-emptive strikes and fighting dirty all in the name of "What's right". 🤔 But who decides, "whats right?" The ends justify the means, but are the ends "what's right?" How is "right" determined? Putting these ideas on a global level seems to make it more tolerable , but at it's core I can't help but apply these lines of thought on an individual basis. An individual who operates on these terms on a day-by-day basis could easily be viewed as selfish, narcissistic, and generally destructive. Why is it that when we have an individual who thinks/performs like this for the benefit of others, that it is somehow noble? 🤔 A good story cultivates inner dialogue. Interesting writing.

Rob... There are way too many mistakes you made in this video. I hate to day it. Would have loved if they returned the New Mutants and Cable to this new X Force team with these mutants being sent to do things that the world would view as villainous but its the best for mutantkind. Boom Boom Cannonball Cypher Karma Magma Mirage Sunspot Wolfsbane These characters would mostly be different but make this sacrifice in order to keep the mutants safe from any external threats.
