Seeing black lion dunk on the flash whether it’s the movie or tv show is more entertaining to me than any flash content we’ve gotten in years

The studio and director made it worse by saying that ezra is gonna stay if the movie does well and that he’d stay if you went to see it.

I think their biggest mistake was adapting Flashpoint for the Flash’s first movie

Let's run down the reasons: 1) The film is headlined by an unstable violent criminal who never paid for a single crime. 2) The CGI is wonky as hell. 3) The ending cameos are done badly and in poor taste. 4) From a tonal perspective the film doesn't know what it wants to be, a comedy or an action thriller. 5) It's the last film in a now non-existant universe. So what's the point? BTW, I didn't pay to see this garbage, I got into a free showing lol

Also don’t forget that this movie came out 2 weeks after one of the MOST ANTICIPATED SEQUELS for a fantastic film in Across the Spider-Verse, and the return of Transformers LAST WEEK

This clearly wasn't the best superhero movie or even in the top 5 movies of the year, but it was still a lot of fun to watch and it's sad that there probably won't be another flash movie for a while with a different actor due to the box office

actually i think it is the opposite i think that people were more excited for michael keaton's batman return that for the flash, i watched the movie with some of my friends and most of them were only talking about batman before the movie, and then after the movie they were still only talking about batman and saying that the actress that plays supergirl did a very good job, but barely someone was talking about the flash

*Fun fact:* A much more faithful depiction of the original Kara appeared in a Man of Steel prequel comic released in 2013, which recounts how she survives the destruction of the planet and ends up in suspended animation. The new Kara should have been a completely bruh moment for the author of that thing

People lost hype because they kept delaying the movie. And Ezra’s controversy didn’t help

I still find it just so insulting to feature Michael Shannon's Zod, without a trace of Henry Cavil's Superman. Especially when this movie tries to be a book end to Man of Steel and the Snyder Verse as a whole.

Outside of Ezra's troubles (an unfortunate situation that the studio really didn't have anything to do with), the biggest reason IMO that The Flash bombed is the same reason that most movies that bomb do: word of mouth. Word of mouth makes or breaks a movie-- just look at the success story of last year's Puss In Boots 2, a movie nobody was hyped for in advance and received minimal marketing, yet became one of the animation world's biggest successes in years because of the amazing word of mouth that spread on social media about how good it was. The same goes for Guardians of the Galaxy 3, which was projected to be a failure because a lot of MCU movies have been failing recently, but ended up being Marvel's biggest hit since No Way Home. What do Puss in Boots and GotG have in common? They're both really good. What do recent big budget flops like Quantumania and The Flash have in common? They're not very good. We can point fingers about release dates, marketing and accuracy to the source material all we want, but most of the time, it really is as simple as this: if your movie is really good, there's a good chance people will talk about it and go see it. If it isn't...well, here we are.

For there several key reasons. 1.) Ezra especially them doubling down by saying they would keep him if the movie succeeded. 2.) while the CW show was not great especially in the end the problem was never really grants flash itself. Despite the bad writing, low budget, and intrusive side characters grant still plays a better flash. 3.) Flashpoint. Why would i be invested in something like this when we haven't even established the flash as a solo character yet. You have to actually have a statis quo to change it in flashpoint. Plus I'm tired of flashpoint in general let alone a badly set up one. 4.) I dont care about micheal keatons batman. Yes i liked his movie but not to the degree I'd go see him aged down by cgi in another heroes movie.

Like Wallace,Miller is the Root of the Problem since Snyder Casted his as The Flash without seeing his Past Backgrounds and now because of Ignorance the Movie Flopped and Chances to see our Favorite Scarlet Speedster is Moot.

I think it flopped mostly because. ...ppl really didn't want to support Erza Miller, the tv show makes the movie redundant, the tv final season was terrible, so ppl might of not been excited for the movie.

Sorry to disagree with you, but Michael Keaton's Batman WAS my main interest in the movie. Even though I am a fan of Christian Bale's Batman too, I was still a lot more excited to see Keaton play him again in spite of his age (he doesn't even look THAT old to me anyway). I think what most younger audiences fail to understand is how impactful Keaton's portrayal was for both Batman and darker superhero movies in general. I wasn't even born when Batman 89 was released, but I still unknowingly owed a lot to the movie while growing up in the 90s and 00s since it led to the creation of BTAS and the DCAU.

If they want to go the Wally West route in the DCU, here are two castings I really want to see. Andrew Garfield as an older, more experienced Barry Allen. Jack Quaid as Eobard Thawne or Hunter Zolomon.

I think people underestimate James Gunn and what he can do as people are saying that the new Dc universe might not be that good but seriously James Gunn made one of the most unknown and unpopular team into the best trilogy in marvel and made movies most considered to have all of them in there top 10 Marvel movies list

The only hope for us flash fans is that James gunn has mercy on us all and give a classic flash movie, with a actor who is a decent person. Also I really hope they keep barry and not go to wally

Super Hero fatigue doesn't exist its clear laziness from writers this shouldn't have been the first Flash movie and personally, I wish Warner allowed Snyder and the cast to make a send-off movie where Darkseid invades and wins and Flash is forced to reset the timeline off that and in return, it causes flashpoint and entering the James Gunn universe.

I’d also say it could be caused by a disinterest in DC, since Marvel is objectively more popular than DC on the silver screen. For example, my friend couldn’t be bothered to see the Flash, but saw all other Marvel films coming out around that time (eg. Spiderverse and Guardians).

I completely agree it should’ve been Bale younger audiences will still see him as relevant like all the old Spider-Man’s everyone was hyped to see the 3 of them together

Flash is one of the most interesting DC characters in my opinion, but the film lacked good writing and CGI. The CGI wasn't as bad as people are claiming it to be, but the writing isn't very great either. Weird lines and Barry's whole character arc in this movie was wasted. The film dosent focus much on Flashpoint especially the iterations we have got. I get that its hard to follow the comics portrayal of Flashpoint. But this film just portrays it as Flash vs General Zodd. Which isnt why we want to watch a flash movie. I think movies like No Way Home are very similar to flash, it focused more on fan service rather than being a good film. This movie could have been so much better if they added more cameos, rather than like 100 supermen and 2 batmen. The universe wasn't even reset and now we are left in the clooney verse rather than getting Batfleck back. LIKE WHAT IS THIS MOVIE.

I can believe the guy who directed this movie is directing Batman the brave and the bold, what a mistake.

Seriously been off the DC bandwagon since they declared themselves the serious comic book franchise. The tone of Man of Steel echos through the whole DCU. Arrow verse, 4 different Batman's at once. Warner Bros are bleeding the material dry and pissing on its corpse.

Despite what Ezra did I enjoyed this movie. And Keaton is a draw

"Spider-Verse may be the best looking movie of all time" Well... best looking animation, sure I can get behind that, but best looking movie sounds like a bit of a stretch.

🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣 had a feeling flash was going to be a flop even w/o miller’s problems. He was just a bad miscast from the jump. Ezra is just not funny more goofy and tried to hard to be the comedy relief. I pray to God Gunn puts an end to the Barry Allen flash. Didn’t like him in BVS…absolutely couldn’t stand him in in Josstice/Justice league and probably will want to puke when I see the flash on streaming. What a waste synder did and set DC back a whole generation that is now Marvel harden. All DC fans better pray Gunn can resurrect DC b/c they need it!

Not gonna lie, Batman and Supergirl were bigger highlights in the film for me than the Flash himself... which says a lot.

Supergirl's portrayal in this movie was...odd. Despite being officially a direct adaptation of the original Kara, her backstory is much more similar to Flashpoint Superman's, her appearance is identical to that of the daughter that Injustice Clark had in a dream and her personality resembles more Power Girl's. I don't think the Kara of this movie should be even considered a depiction of the famous blonde chick created in the 60's

The moment they signed on Snyder to make Man of Steel they doomed the entire DCEU. In anyone else's hands it might have actually had a chance.

While I was a fan of the Snyderverse I felt that Miller was miscasted as Barry - maybe he could have been Wally - but not Barry.

I think theres just too many popular movies out right now. It came out right after Little Mermaid, Transformers, Spider-verse, and the same day as a new Pixar movie.

I think that if there is any reason why this movie makes money is Michael Keaton, everyone in my audience was there to watch him, even doe I do agree he isn't popular enough to make general audiences go and watch it and make it a box office hit, maybe if this were an actual sequel with everyone of his movies coming back (like Michelle and TIm) he could be, but not as a secondary character in someone else's movie, but the problems are Ezra, the marketing and the DC brand, also the reboot being announced just makes all DC films feel meaningless this year. The film was pretty good, but it wasn't amazing and marketing it that way was a mistake

Listen, from the day the casting came out I knew I wasnt gonna watch it, I've never liked Ezra for the role even before his crime spree. I've only liked him in one film and he was lowkey unhinged in that film

Okay ,but Michael Keaton's Batman was by far the best thing about this movie. Edit: I would also like to point out that this is the only Batman we've seen who actually succeeded in cleaning up Gotham. He's the only Batman who won.

why i didnt bother to see this on opening weekend was because the cgi in the trailers looked sooooo bad, there was this one part that made me go yeahhh this cgi looks soo bad and i thought his suit does as well, but its the part where hes looking up n screaming, just something about his head, it looks so big and not attached to his body

Honestly the biggest mistake was flashpoint i know that hes been the flash for 7 years but grant gustins had to fight zoom and reverse flash and only did flashpoint when zoom killed his dad the flash from the movie did it in its first movie without versing any villain Honestly reverse flash shouldve killed barrys mom and been the villain of the first movie and barry realises he kills his mom just like the show also flashppint shouldve been in the second movie if theirs one also CW flash from s1-5 will always be better than this

It was a great movie! Just a poor flash movie. The cgi was god awful, the acting in a lot of places seemed forced and downright cringy. There was a lot of sexual innuendos that had me concerned as to what was the director, actor and QC doing when the rough draft of this movie was released.

DC can retire live action Flash for now and bring him back in a several years. A successful TV series of The Flash just ended a 9 season run followed by a flop of a theatrical film. Nobody is clamoring for more Flash at this time.

Even the most liberal apologist for Hollywood & it’s innate weirdness thought twice about furthering the ‘career’ of this particular celebutante : borderline criminal. Even separating the artist from their work - this version of the character is questionable in its appeal - & the existing powerhouse fan base of the Flash TV show was made Very aware that this film made Zero effort to give back in kind & include Gustin or Shipp in its sprawling DC ‘Legends’ Multiverse Homage . ( Nic Cage’s unmade Superman? Really??) Essentially the best selling point is it’s heartbreaking grief tale at the center of Barry’s Flashpoint arc. Sauce it up with the by now expected crappy WB CGi Muck - & in my experience couldn’t even convince lifelong comics or genre fans to see this opening weekend. Let alone dish out hard earned Netflix & streaming money , in support of a movie that is apparently - No Better than Ezra.

The movie was good not great but good not a game changer bit entertaining while we waiting for another watchmen type movie or dark knight we are dealing with studios putting out stuff without actually putting any real passion in the project and im sure flash was rushed had they release in july or august with the cgi finihed it would have been good

I think their biggest mistake was not having Grant as the one and true flash. While the CW Flash has been god awful these past couple of years he in the eyes of many is the better Flash and has always been the better flash

There really is no need for an explanation as to why The Flash movie fell besides Ezra Miller. If they switched the actor for The Flash, I could really see it being more than a success, probably one of the best movies of 2023. However, Ezra Miller ruined that because of the audience's genuine hate for him. Literally, everyone i talked to both in person and online about watching the movie all said the same thing,"I do not want to support Ezra Miller." Seriously, there is no need for any other explanation.

Yeah I never got the Aquaman movie either. Thought it was average at best. One of those junk food movies you forget about after watching. Was very shocked to see it made that much. I don't get it.
