I feel like the rift between tribes and econmic classes and religions are so wide in nigeria that it makes it hard for us to be united as a people. and this kind of content is amazing! it isn't just content, you are making history, building bridges, expanding our knowldge as a people/nation. This is brilliant. Imagine having a documentary about every single state in Nigeria! Lots of Nigerians never go beyond their home state except for going to university in a different state or doing nysc. We are not raised to explore our own country & it really limits the scope of perspective of the average Nigerian. It limits our ability to feel a part of something bigger than one's own ethnic group. Exposure is necessary for unity. Understanding other ethnic groups & appreciating their way of life is important for project Nigeria to suceed. More blessings to your work 🙌🏾

This was really fascinating; although, I did feel sorry for the animals being tied up and not able to live freely in their own habitat. I agree with the sentiment which questions why in a country as rich as Nigeria, do people feel they have to do this! On a separate note, I can't believe how bravery of Tayo. There is no way I would have had snakes on me or allow a man to run a sword across my arm.

This is really beautiful. There's so much to explore in the North. Please visit the Kano, Daura, Katsina or Zaria emirates during their Durba on Sallah day. They have massive displays of horses, traditional music, traditional dances, traditional garbs and ancient warriors and their ways. I first visited one years ago and still have hundreds of beautiful photographs. I love your work Aina

Well done Tayo! I have been following your videos from your very 1st!!! I am from Borno, born and bred in Lagos and now live abroad. I grew up attending some of these shows in Mile 12, I used to go to Mile12 by foot from Magodo Phase 2 where I grew up, via the back (oko filling) around that Catholic church. Most times I just follow my mom to the market and then we see these men perform and we stop but and give them money. My father in his prime was a gateman/old soldier, so he also had friends who have these jazz against fire, gun shots and any sharp blade. Then my father attaches these men to work for rich guys in Magodo and in Lagos as security men.....you go shoot taya, bullets would bounce back and daggers will hit their skin and curl......My father is old now, still alive and I think we still have some of these stuff in the house. You those bandits, kidnappers and BH guys you see tormenting us in my state and other parts of the north, they use the best if these craft!!! And that is why the Nigerian army can't do much against them. Sometimes when people often me so bad, I just smile and pity them, I am a good person and trying my best to be a good Muslim, but If I enter my village and come out.......hmmmmm!!! I also belong to a sub-tribe of Shuwa Arab called Asharafa or Sharafa. We are desendants of prophet Muhammad (PBUH), you can find some of our people in North Africa, and across the old Sahara trade route down to Sudan, Chad, northern Cameroon and Borno/Adamawa state in Nigeria. My own blood is over diluted, but if you get a conc Sharafa (where the name sharif/sharifa came from), fire doesn't burn them. That one is not jazz, they are born like that. You may not believe me but I have seen babies burnt with fire as a form of DNA Test and I have seen some of my old aunties carting red hot charcoal with their bare hands, or entering a burning house to bring out victim. I can also bear heat to some great extent, more than the usual. Due to boko haram, our villages have been burnt down and I don't have contact details of people back home again since I live abroad with my family (Hong Kong). Recently I have been having flashes of my late aunty who is a pure breed, so entered a burning house in Magodo to rescue victims and I thought of gathering those left, esp the younger ones and kids, educating them and using them as super fire marshals. Do you research first and we can talk. We can raise a whole army of super heros to save the world!!!

I'm loving this style of this video. You told an excellent story and one that should be told by Africans FIRST in order to balance the narratives so many outside the continent have been telling for years. While I know you weren't the first to profile these families, I am encouraged to know you are focused on this type of storytelling as there's so much more to see and learn in the nooks and crannies of Africa.

Another beauty of this documentary is how they accepted him and teaching them...this is indeed lovely to see
