We solve the mystery of the K-Test, another Restive Fault Locating tool available (sometimes this is a paid-for option that needs activation) on most meters. Unfortunately, it is also frequently overlooked because instructions and testing guidelines are not always clear in the meter documentation from the manufacturers.
This test works to locate the fault when both conductors are faulted at the same location and to the same reference, such as T/G and R/G.
