If you are a victim of domestic abuse, please reach out to someone for help. Please call the national domestic abuse hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE. That’s 1-800-799-7233 or go to thehotline.org to chat with someone online. The great thing about this website is that, at any time, hitting the escape key twice will instantly take your browser to a google search page. In the event the abuser is nearby, you can ensure that you don’t get caught trying to get help.
If you are having feelings of harming yourself or someone else or even just need someone to talk to, please contact your local mental health facility, call 911 or call Mental Health America who operate the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. The world is a completely different place than it was when he was jailed. Imagine having to relearn how to live because some dumb prosecutor decided on faking their case to put you in jail. This is so damn frustrating, and it keeps happening. How many cases do we need to learn of like this? I really don’t even have much trust in the justice system when there’s so many ppl who have spent their entire lives in jail for nothing meanwhile the other suspects in their cases were never investigated and those peoples families never got justice. It’s sickening that this is allowed to happen in this country and the prosecutors who do this just get away with it.

It's*** like that oh, that no amount of money or apologies xcetera can ever compensate! What they did to this man excusable and anytime this s*** happens it is beyond words! Frustrating doesn't even begin to cover the emotions and anger I feel for what happened to this man. I experienced drug agents lie on me to convince me to take a charge for my girlfriend. They said they found heroin and that we were both being charged, I knew that they couldn't have and argued it. And they said well we have empty bags that test positive. And that's a class C felony. I had never been in serious trouble before I did have a drug habit. I thought that it might be possible. But I know now that they lied and I took the charge and did 18 months in prison period and from there on my life became a constant game for the police in the area I live to lock me up for probation violations. And I wound up catching more charges, by that time I was breaking the law. This is nothing compared to what Curtis went through. But I understand what it's like to be lied on/to. I also learned that the police aren't really concerned with the truth! They are concerned with convictions and winning at all costs. If you're poor you can't fight back, and if you have a record after that you are guilty of every single thing they say you are. It doesn't matter what you do, Your Existence becomes job security for the police/ probation / counseling/ Corrections Officers jail staff. The prison industrial complex and the private companies that use predatory/ Draconian drug laws to line there pockets. I was brought up to believe the police were my protectors. My grandfather was a police officer, and my uncle. It was a rude awakening to learn how Things actually Work. I am most certainly not trying to compare or minimize what Curtis went through! I just know that the justice system doesn't work the way people think it works. If you think about it, even at its best it's a punitive system. It does nothing to prevent crime. The best deterrent for crime, is a healthy educated, equal and informed population. Food shelter and Healthcare shouldn't be considered luxuries. They are every human beings right IMO. Most crime is the result of desperation or mental illness. Issues that we could handle as a society. If people were getting adequate Healthcare, weren't struggling/ petrified of losing their ability to feed themselves or their family. Or lose their home. It would eliminate the majority of criminal Acts. This would reduce the amount of potential criminals. Those that did exist would having extremely hard time Evading Justice. People do horrible things but the majority of people that do horrible things are doing it for money. Majority of addicts are trying to self-medicate because they don't have access to adequate or appropriate Healthcare/Mental Health. And when you have a system that is this broken this flawed it's no surprise that people wind up getting incarcerated crimes they didn't commit or locked up for self-medicating. If you don't have money you can't defend yourself in America. You can't defend yourself from Hunger you can't defend yourself homelessness you can't defend yourself from sickness. And you most certainly don't stand a chance in a courtroom. The minute that we come together as a nation. We make our government work as a union, like it was intended you would have an amazing country! It's hard to imagine and it seems like the problems are much harder to solve., but the majority of our issues are issues in which we've created ourselves

Hearing about people walking around the crime scene unnecessarily is so disappointing and distressing.
