Two of the greatest tragedies that happened to the dead sea scrolls were number one young boys, who didn't know what they were, took them home and they were used for fire. Secondly, when they were found and it was discovered what they were they involved the Roman Catholic Church. Two tragic events, that altar truth.

fantasy is a wonderful thing. it has kept western civilization together for 2000 years. the reason the "copper" scroll was difficult to read is because it was in ancient greek.

Always wondered if anybody had made an effort to find this treasure. Great to finally hear the story behind it. The treasure would have been removed by romans or by the templar knights or simply looted long before Allegro searched for it.....

@And-Not-Do-What-I-say actually titus took most of it from the temple. His triumphant return to rome with amongst many other treasures, the golden table and golden menorah are recorded on his marble arch. These were all 2nd temple gold treasures

@xikimunki735 День назад
@marcel-ec6qe part of the treasure was taken by the romans and emperpr Titus had the gold displayed in his triumohant welcome parade, returning to Rome from his campaign in the holy land. The treasure pieces can be seen today carved in the marble titus arch where thry are carried by roman soldiers in the parade. This was real not a made up story. The romans only found the largest pieces though such as the solid gold menorah and solid gold table the smaller pieces and documents were likely hidden away just like the copper scroll indicates and it must have been an enormous quantity.

This is a good documentary. Its theme is and will always be relevant. Chasing dreams of love, fantasies of grandeur, theoretical fabrications, hidden treasures, unattainable political and military goals has been extremely common in the history of our species. Many have lost their sanity, fortune and even their lives doing so. Empires have been destroyed by leaders dominated by unhealthy obsessions, entire nations have been dragged into terrible and predictable defeats that could have been avoided. Mythology is full of warnings about the danger of irrationally pursuing something impossible. Religious parables fulfill this same function. And we have History as an immense repository of tragic episodes related to this problem. And yet men continue to jump down rabbit holes. And to make matters worse, today they are led there by tireless algorithms that know how to exploit each person's vulnerabilities by analyzing the mass of information they produce online. This is certainly not a good sign.

The discovery didn't happened in Jordan in 1947... but in the British Mandate on Palestine that ended in 1948. Jordan was independant since 1946 but was only at the eastern side of the Jordan river in 1947. In 1948 the Jordanian army occupied and took control of what is known as the "west bank", but it wasn't the case during the dead sea scrolls discovery.

When I hear stories like this, I have to wonder what is the truth from anything that has been written in our past about that era. The Church started to practice religion, and not Christian beliefs. All the unnecessary pomp and circumstance was a covering for their duplicitous beliefs. They didn't want anything that would put a crimp in their heretical religious beliefs. Jesus was the Christ, and didn't need mans religious practices to spread the truth. Some Churches today put more emphasis on religion over Christ like behavior, that any man at any time could do. The point is, anything that is outside their orthodoxy was disinformation and fake news. Why does that sound familiar?

What I think is very scary is the way Christian Evangelicals treat Donald Trump like he is the second coming of Jesus Christ. He is a false prophet, and he is most certainly not a Christian. I am especially disgusted that even though Donald Trump tried to overthrow the US Government on January 6, 2021 and actually encouraged the insurrectionists to kill Vice President Mike Pence because Pence refused to obey an illegal order (to refuse to certify the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election, Joe Biden), he was allowed to run for President in 2024.

The thing is stories that are passed down usually have many versions. And when you translate from one language to another you also miss some of the meaning. So it's very difficult to know what was originally written down on scrolls and then what was transferred to Latin then English. Which words are best for the translation,it's always up for debate.

Rather the church voted in heretical beliefs that contradict thousands of years of messengers sent to guide mankind and not just the Jews. They voted in the trinity a heretical blasphemous belief that totally contradicts the message given to Jesus Christ عليه السلام as preached in the first 2 centuries after he was raised to heaven. The closest version of Christianity to the truth was Unitarian although they still believed in abandoning the Jewish Halaqa law which Jesus عليه السلام never preached rather he was given the command to abrogate only a few laws making some things previously forbidden lawful otherwise circumcision was still obligated and Pork totally forbidden and unclean but Alas the church followed Paul’s blasphemous teachings…

Because the abnormal brits split the land to the arabs and jews it should be only to the jews especially Jerusalem and all the biblical sites but it's given to the non indeginous there what a joke! Then the history now became upside down and causes unending war because ofies and propaganda where the real solution of this problem is to reesucated the abdools and the whole world about Israel and thd neighboring warring countries and also people start to read Bible just to study if you don't want to be part of religion so that the world will not be victimize by the virus nowadays.
