Thank you very much. I am an Ijebu in Yorubaland. We believe that we are descendants of the Jebusites of the Bible. And Jebusites are descendants of Canaanites. So, we may have been pushed out of our land (Jerusalem) as a result of the attacks that you mentioned yet we still exist. Parts of us are believed to be in East Africa.
I know that the most common Y-DNA haplogroup among the Yoruba people, including the Ijebu, is haplogroup E1b1a (formerly known as E3a). However, I'm still researching the original Y-DNA haplogroup of these people. If I were to make an educated guess, I'd say that the original Haplogroup of the Yoruba, including the Ijebu, is either E1b1a or E1b1b. Either way, they belong to haplogroup E, in my opinion.
In the Bible God said for us not to put so much weight into geneology but in walking in the ways of Christ. Im not saying it in verbatim. I have to find the scriptures. But i believe God is letting us know that we are all one people that he created us all equal!! We were born in sin, lived in sin and die sinners and judged as anyone else is to be judged. It's the way we chose to live our lives and how we treat others that matters. I still find it hard to believe that people are trying to prove to one person or another that their race or their religion or their beliefs are more righteous than another race or religion. We (humans born in sin) are arguing that we are better than other humans born in sin? It makes no sense. Why can't we all treat each other like HUMANS? Then we can get down to solving the real issues on Earth together because the global warming and other environmental hazards are going to be our demise if we don't stop fighting and look at these issues as a global issue that we ALL need to fix.
I did my Ancestry DNA results recently, and it shows I am 100% from the Levant - specifically Western Levant (meaning modern day Lebanon). It showed no Arab (Arabian Peninsula), no Asian (Iranian etc), and no African DNA. It didn't even show Southern or Northern European DNA like I had expected. The results specifically said my ancestors were the Ancient Canaanites/Phoenicians from West Lebanon and some from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon (South East). So, I am pretty certain that my ancestors were Canaanites.

No they are predominantly modern day Lebanese and Syrian, and they also share DNA with Tunisians, Maltese, Sicilians, Cypriots, and Sardinians .... (Phoenician DNA).
I believe they call themselves Lebanonese and Syrians today. In DNA tests of the religion, they seem to be the same as the group called Neolithic farmers the use of the Eikorn.

No they're not extinct back when Alex Trebex Game show host of Jeopardy were still with Us meaning alive. A contestant was given a coined question about some people that were considered dead but today Lived in present day Lebanon. Contestant didn't know the answer and so Alex Trebek revealed It was the Canaanites. I was shocked because with the Sunday School and then later God's Marching order's too join the Seventh Day Adventist's (Keeper's of The Flame) Family Sabbath School I felt led in believing they were Extinct.
