Thanks for asking this question and hosting this session, Nathan. I've been wrestling with this "reality" vs "non-reality" social struggle debacle since 2021 and it's great to hear a philosophical debate on it. I don't get to have conversations like these in my immediately available social groups.

I have no idea if Dr Jacobs sees these comments but I have a request for a podcast episode. An overview of Logos Theology. Logos, Logoi, Skopos, The Energies, and how said system compares and contrasts with Thomistic Essentialism/Substance Metaphysics. I have never seen a comparison done and I can't find an in depth overview of Logos Metaphysics, while many exist for Thomism. Loving this channel!

1:15:00 doesnt realism just become nominalism _when you talk about it_ ? realism becomes real when you basically punch somebody in the face. what is realism? its valhalla. what is nominalism? its christian heaven.

Reason is a function, it is important for negotiating a path between the head and the heart; thought and feeling. It is not the deity it has been elevated to in The Age of Reason, and it can, if untethered from the heart and feelings be Frankenstein-ish.
