"How many, dammit!?" That line alone shows how X-Men is one of those rare shows that has managed to grow up with its audience. You would never hear that on Saturday mornings!
For real! I wasn’t ready for Gambits death AT ALL. He’s always been my favorite after wolverine. And growing up the X-men never died. They’d wake up on the hospital bed by episodes end.
Honestly now that I think about it, when Professor X told Gambit: "How often must the scoundrel prove himself as a hero before he believes it himself." This is what he meant, Gambit went down as an ultimate superhero by saving the remaining survivors on Genosha and Rogue of course. If that's not the way the cajun should go out then I don't know what is.

I cried here.....just the raw emotion in Rogue's voice when she says "I can't feel you" is absolutely and utterly heartbreaking. Gambit proved himself a hero

Finally we get to see gambits whole skillset on screen ..the martial arts , the agility the charm , the kinetic powers , using random items as weopons…the Cajun was cooking ♠️♥️♣️♦️🔥🔥
So, not only did we get a badass Cyclops scene with this show, but now we have a badass Gambit scene too. 97 fucking slaps. And we’re just half way through season 1!!
@WannabeWryter I bet he'll turn on apocalypse like angel did. I think apocalypse will give him a new understanding of his power that helps cancel out rouges so they can touch. I don't know if he'll rejoin the x-men immediately, but I'm positive he will keep being a heroic badass.

This episode hit me HARD. The 90’s animated series was my introduction to comic book media and being born and raised in South Louisiana Gambit has always been my favorite comic character. That was one of the most powerful moments I’ve seen in the MCU in a long time. I really thought this show would just be a dose of nostalgia (and I was totally in for that) but boy was I wrong. This show has heart, emotion, real stakes, and some of the best action in the mcu. I know in a world where the multiverse exists, we will probably see another Gambit but this Gambit, the one I grew up with, died a beautiful death. Marvel, take note, this is how you do story telling and fucking REMEMBER IT.
I just love how despite the dire and apocalyptic situation they were facing Gambit was still being his charasmatic self which gave you hope. Then he dies. This episode was nothing short of a master piece.

Sometimes it can’t be done live action… like that Mastermold I’m sorry he just wouldn’t look good in live action the beam effects how big he is and the earth coming up from gambits feet, also Gambits character design I think would feel a little funky live action.
@@Rubberbucket0038 Godzilla movies would like a word with you. Hell even MCU phase 1 and 2 could pull off these effects easy. The designs obviously need to be updated for live action like everything but the problem is not the effects but the scripts.
Nightcrawler and Gambit are my two favorite characters. This episode was such a rollercoaster for me. Nightcrawler being in the episode, Nightcrawler’s fake out death, Gambit’s actual death. Gut wrenching.
I've been saying Gambit is the coolest xmen since I bought his action figure when I was 8. Seeing him be GOATED in the show is bittersweet, but satisfying in so many ways
When he raised the bet right after the beam charge, he doubled the power, but the collateral was his life, and he didnt know, thats why he smiled, but he knew what cards he held.
With the bare hand... everything about this scene hits incredibly hard. The silence, everyone speechless, the way beast quietly breaks that silence. It's just... damn
He lived as free as possible, he was the one who doubted himself the most, and he died as the hero he always was. May his soul be at peace, may his next life be rewarded, and may he be honored by those who remain
Gambit deserves a statue of himself after his heroic show of bravery style and class Gambit was always one of my favorite X men and now I see why he is a true soldier brother and friend.
Genuinely gasped during this scene it was so sick, and I dont usually get all emotional about comic book character shows but I do like the xmen. Glad they gave Gambit a badass scene like this because he’s one of my favorites.
his power is actually far greater than what he wields in the show/comic, he had his power limited by Sinister years before meeting the X-men because he was so strong that his upper limit could blow up the planet.
Gambit unleashed is able to defeat the phoenix force I wonder why the later writers decided to add that to Gambits background oh well varying writers varying ideas and conflicts
He was secretly Omega level mutant but he nerfed himself because he doesn't want to touch chick and blow them up.... (Coz he saw his future self touch Jean and blow her up then touch earth and blow Earth up destroying the whole world)
Somewhere along the lines, we went to Invincible massacre territory with the amount of bloody deaths shown in this episode, especially to our main characters.
