It seemed to be in the shadow of "Frasier", "Seinfeld" and "Murphy Brown". A very competitive period! Yet today, aside from "Seinfeld", "The Nanny" has seen its popularity grow recently and is seen all over the world.
Does anyone else almost die of laughter at: "You know, Sylvia my mother joined the diet center, and she has lost 120 POUNDS...another 50, and she can start sleeping upstairs again." 😂😆🤣💀
"Out of sight out of mind" Sylvia cracks me up! She sounded so zen and then she gets to the fridge and she opens the door and slams it real quick and runs. Lol
I'm going to disagree, Tv's golden age was the 80s... the 90s were the silver age imo. But, as far as this scene goes, why would you torture yourself staying at a chocolate party when your dieting? This scene always makes me crave chocolate...
This is one of my favourite ever scenes from the nanny. Between the outfits, and the individual bizarre behaviours of Sylvia and Yetta and their interaction with "external" people (Val), it's just pure gold
Ugh i wish but i have to agree that the supporting characters made the show. My personal favs were Sylvia and Val bc they said the funniest & dumbest things and scenes with them always had me cracking up. I think overall Niles was the biggest fan favorite and sometimes i even feel he was more popular than Fran herself.
The nanny show can go on forever you can never get enough of the nanny Fran and the whole cast were the best at what they do did and will all ways be my favorite show this is one show that could and should go on t v. Forever YES TRUST4EVER and All ways.We All Loved The Nanny Fran Fine 4EVER.
it's totaly me when i try to make a diet. :) even when i am more into the cooked stuff, not so much sweets. i would wrestle someone to the ground for an half eaten peace of pizza in that situation. ^^
If it aired today, people would laugh. Stop looking for a reason to complain. It is a sitcom. How hard can it possibly be to sit down , watch a show, and enjoy it?
One thing I’ve always wondered is how Fran (and Val, but we didn’t see her as much) ate things like “double chocolate brownies with cheesecake centers” on a constant basis yet never gained a pound! In a Valentine’s Day episode, she downs a full-three course Italian meal (soup, pasta, and dessert), then still has room for a giant ice cream sundae ten minutes later. Maybe everything she ate went to Sylvia instead! :p
Try going through the whole Aperture Science Enrichment Centre, survive the murderous AI trying to kill you and kill it first. Then if you survive the big explosion, you might get your hands on one of these. No but seriously, it's called Black Forrest cake (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte in German, because it's originally a German cake). I know you can get one in a bakery near the Valve headquarters, they implemented this cake into one of their games (Portal). Not sure about the rest of the USA. But in Europe you can definitely get it in Germany and I've seen it here in Czech republic as well so it must be in other countries too.
I feel so sad for you! I love all kinds of stuff out of milk. especialy pizza with extra cheese or a nice lasagne with extra cheese. or bolognese with parmesan. creme freche, yoghurt, quark, cream, and and and ... hmmmm ... what do i wanted to say? oh yes, i thank god that i don't have problems with something. :)
There are reruns weeknights on the US TV channel COZI TV, which is a free channel. Also, the cable channel Logo shows a marathon of episodes late night on Sundays in the US.
i think The Nanny was a great show Fran Drescher should have a star on walk of fame No offense to Audrey Meadows but her show The Honeymooners only lasted 1 year Fran's lasted 6 years
Fans need to prep a formal nomination to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for review. I believe a petition of at least 500 names is needed as well. Walkoffame.com is the website.
No. This is a comedic gesture to the audience (almost like a wink) which is also used in the Theatre. Had been done on older TV shows before "The Nanny". The show has many references to vintage TV comedies in the past, so this gesture is right in step. Fran's gestures to the TV audience are pure comic gold!!
