Hey Kyle, ever try the Keeley modded Metal Zone? I ran one years ago with a Mesa Triple Rec Reborn. I thought is was a sick boost.Cannibal Corpse stated they ran this pedal years ago as a boost. I also ran the Keeley modded pedal with a peavey 5150 and a Mesa Mark IV. The only other boost I had at the time was a Maxon OD 808. I preferred the Keeley Metal Zone. Great content as usual!👍🏻
Also hate the signature Fortin chirp/clank, got one of these and was super pleased with how manageable it is with the tone knob. Way more versatile than it may get credit for. Unless the prices of these get as outrageous as the Maxons, it’s probably a forever pedal.
This is basically the same circuit as the Maxon custom shop od9, the agreement I guess expired between Fortin and Maxon and well I'm sure money talks and Mike Fortin decided to sell more units under the Ibanez name, so now it's just a matter if they make more to help balance the market out from price gauging, but honestly this pedal is worth the hype , to the untrained ear some people may not hear a difference but definitely its there and in the recording definitely gives you that extra juice, I usually don't care for alot of Fortin products but this one is a keeper
Man I was so tempted to grab one when they first came out. Regret not pulling the trigger but the Duality DX and the Mudkiller were above it on the list of new pedals to buy. Killer video Kyle🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I’ve got mudkiller.. it’s an okay pedal, fortin Ibanez is better in my opinion.. now I’m on the waiting list for duality dx, I’ve got a lot of OD pedals.. fortin Ibanez is in my top 3.. as of right now!! Pepers dirty tree is #1!!
Hey Kyle, that intro riff you have at the beginning of every video. Is there by chance a full song behind that? Because my god, it's brutal. Side note, what do you think of something like this pedal (Fortin ts9) vs a plumes? I run my plumes into my front end, in a week it'll be running into a mt15. Do you think my drive is good and proper or am I possibly missing out on something! Thanks!
Hey man! Yes, that's my band Bushido Code! The song is Aftermath! YUou can find it here on RU-vid and all major streaming platforms! As far as this vs the plumes, the Fortin has way more output and tightens up the amp a lot more than the Plumes. The Plumes has a little more versatility, but overall I wasn't a fan of the pedal as it didn't really tighten the low end.
I wish they would make these more as a regular offering. I understand why they make them limited but it sucks when people buy them up then sell them for double. Some of us just want to rock 🎸 them.
@@belligerentamateur it took me forever to get a hold of khdk paranormal 2 I was one the last people to get mine in on order. I was so pissed🤬 that people just grabbed them and then just hocked them on reverb for 2 or 3 times as much.and I didn't even get mine at that point. 😡
Hey, Kyle. Have you tried the 5150IIIS 100 watt? I owned two (made in 2016). It was the best sounding tube amp I've ever touched.. Shit happened, and I had to sell them. When I was able to get a new one, they were on backorder for months. When they finally came out (2021), I got one, but it sounded nothing like my old ones. Plus, they were a lot noisier, and they even used cheaper parts (while adding $500 to the pricetag). I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who noticed, and also if that's why the 50 watt got so popular..
Hey man! I need help! I thought you did a demo of the earhquaker plumes pedal, but I can't find it. Looked 9 times now through all your vids, and I can't find it. Anyway, I've been using an OCD to boost my amps letely, due to the absolute fullness it adds, and the fact the volume on it only needs to be at 3/4. It sounds way bigger than my tubescreamers. So my question is... would I like the plumes, or is just another TS clone??
How do all you guys use these overdrives without a noise gate , even with my noise gate on I'm still getting noise you all don't when my overdrive is on ,is it possible my noise gate isn't good enough , it's joyo noise gate , it's also a joyo zombie amp , and my overdrive is the walrus ages
Thats a pretty sick tube screamer!! I really, really love the old JCM2000 series DSL amps!! I honestly am not that much of a fan of the new series. They're decent amps but not very good MARSHALL amps if ya catch my drift.
I had both the DSL100H and this DSL50 at the same time and honestly, the differences were extremely subtle. I think the new ones just get a bad rep for being made in Vietnam, or wherever they're made now
@@belligerentamateur I could hear and feel a significant difference myself, but I'd certainly be willing to try one again. I'm in the midst of planning out a mini head collection and I thought about the DSL20 for a minute but.... I think I really want the JCM800...curse my expensive tastes. Keep up the great work man!! Hope all is well!!
Hey what's up Kyle I own the Ibanez ts9dx turbo Tube Screamer. You know it's got the Keeley mod as one of the settings and then there are three other settings including the original ts9 circuit how does it compare in your opinion to the Fortin modded ts9
@@belligerentamateur well its a stock pedal the ts9dx turbo tubescreamer. Has 4 settings origanal ts9 circuit, the keely modd and then 2 other modd circuits that are modds that other well know dudes modded and they just made the ts9 and added an extra knob to switch between the 4 modes. Honesly though.all the others besides the original ts9 circuit just add more fuzz and gain and imo there not great sounding but the original ts9 setting is my favorite.
@@tatelmarcelino4846 yea I feel you, they all sounded good. The mesa was good, but something about the other 2 for me, at least for playing alone. In a band setting I could see the mesa fitting in good
@@tatelmarcelino4846 I only tried a low wattage version Real thrashy sounding, even if that sounds cheesy saying. In the realm of Municipal Waste type tones Korn got them to sound crazy, I would they are responsible for the direction of mainstream Heavy tones today.
So u cant use any heads that are above 8 ohms but most amps have a switch to change ohms from 4 to 8 to 16 to pair with most cabs. But there are heads i believe arent compatible. Kyle bull woukd have more knowledge on this then me but i own tons of heads and cabs and as long as u dont use a head that the ohms are more then what the cab is rated for youll be fine. Never pair a head to a cab if the heads ohms are higher then the cab. Youll blow your speakers. Probly fine on low volume but still would never recommend miss matching ohms with heads and cabs. Hope that helps. I know kyle has so many comments its hard to answer them all but he is great about eventually answering everyones questions if there not asinine. Really hope that helps. I also have a youtube channel with tons of great content. I wont mention it on Kyle's platform unless u ask. I respect kyle and would like to not piss him off.
@@belligerentamateur oh yeah your right . It sounded awesome tho and I appreciate you doing the demo of it. I directly looked it up cuz I liked what I heard and that sucker was over 500 used . I was like wtf . Lol I got that Dirty Tree with my EVH 50 watt 6l6 on the blue channel and it's brutal. I recently got a dv77 speaker too and paired it up with the g12h in the evh 2x12 cab and made it sound even better. Have you tried out the dv77 speakers yet?
What's the use of showing a distortion pedal through an amp that is already distorting so much that you can hardly tell the difference? You are basically using it as booster without even trying the pedal's own distortion.
Dude, cuz it’s not a distortion… it’s meant to be a boost for a high gain amp. It tightens the low end for chugging and adds saturation. He’s using it appropriately.
The pedal sounds awesome, but I hate this ridiculous “limited edition” approach to selling pedals. Either commit to making them for a reasonable period of time or don’t bother. The pedal market has become laughably gross.
That's how they control supply, raise the price, and make the resale value high enough to compete less with the sale of new items. People are also more likely to buy if the resale value is high... It's a bit of dance, but how things work now.
@@XChristianNoirX There is nothing more rock n roll than a $500 pedal on the secondary market, of a $200 pedal, that’s a mod of a $100 pedal. It’s understandable though because Ibanez and Fortin don’t have the infrastructure to manufacture pedals at scale
