Mans was from Kariega, formerly known as Uitenhage, in the Eastern Cape province of S.A. Was part of the AmaMpinga clan of the Xhosa tribe. I thank you.
This anthem hits deep. During the protests I have learnt and interpreted a lot of struggle songs of which carry powerful messages and strange enough still apply to current situations. This shows that the struggle is still being fought for.
Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika Maluphakanyisw' uphondo lwayo, Yizwa imithandazo yethu, Sibe moya munye (To be united in one spirit) Noma sekunzima emhlabeni (Even through hard times in this world) Sihlukunyezwa kabuhlungu (When we are painfully abused) Nkosi siph' amandla okunqoba (Lord give us strength for victory) Silwe nosathane (To fight the devil)
This should be a continental anthem. The words resonate strongly with all our brothers and sisters across the continent. This particular version is sad; a reflection of the plight of our beautiful continent in the hands of those who have no love for it.
you mean the brothers and sisters who are destroying it? Your brothers are burning and breaking down your beloved continent. how about how we are in debt because of ANC and they dont care about you. Your blaming everyone accept yourself
You all are among the twelve lost tribes of Yisrael and not the Khazarian converted imposters who are occupying the land of Israel. today. Besides that I would like to know what this song says because it also effects your brothers and sisters taken in bondage on ships to the Americas 400.
@@Thejournal-t7e i stopped listening to Black Hebrew Israelites because they denounced Africans but you are inclusive. We are indeed one. What camp or group are you apart of?
This song takes me back to the painful times of financial exclusion at university little did i know it was millions of us black south african students at various universities who were financially excluded. then a week later fees must fall began at CUT, WITS, UKZN,UP and yes the Godfathers TUT. We marched and we fought tirelessly we had gatherings at night as students and we embarked on the greatest war of student financial exclusion. 2016 what a year that shaped
We are a Liberation organization based in the UK, most members from the Caribbean, we will definitely be learning this version. So powerful, so touching!
This Original Anthem cuts deep coz it has emotions and a deep meaning behind it🙌🏾it's not just an anthem sang for the sake of singing but it's also a prayer that heals and gives hope to people...This is the ONE❤
Imagine if the whole stadium during the Bafana matches, and this plays... That could’ve given the boys more moral in the game...a simple thing like this song being an Anthem, MAGIC
@@Antloo2009 no one said you don’t matter, the reason why there’s this vibe is a lot of Afrikaaans people now perverting history, not wanting to acknowledge that it is a Dutch language, it’s not a slur to state that, they refuse and even get offended when people say it isn’t an African language, saying things like you were here first and all such falsehoods
@@cheetahcheetah3756 , the brainwashed history you are relying on is being exposed as a fat lie. this land was populated for thousands of years before europeans arrived at the cape. you perpetuate hatred by spreading lies
My people should listen to this anthem more often - it invokes our ancestors! Bantu Steve Biko soon and very soon we shall have our Afrika united. Your words are vibrating so high - the cosmos have delivered Afrika 🔥✊🏾!
I'm here on voting day in South Africa, 2024. Its 22:24, the youth are out in numbers. IEC has made a mess of the elections. I'm here to listen to this message, in solidarity with the fighting spirit of ordinary South Africans and the students who are braving the cold, wet winter night. Nkosi Sikelela iAfrika. We are on the cusp of change.
Henning, yes you are white. But you are not a Boer. And you will never be. The shame you speak of is towards your own skin color. Do you even know the lyrics to the old anthem?? It talks about South Africa as a beautiful country, and rightfully so because it is. I do not see what about it shames you
FMF must resume students are still struggling , some do not not have accommodation even now after 6 months of evaluating Nsfas applications . NKOSI YIZWA IMITHANDAZO YETHU
Who came here to pray for xenophobic attacks to stop??✊✊it's pity we have won the fight against apartheid now is black against black😢😢nkosi sikelel'i africa
The reason for the amendment in the National Anthem and the incorporation of "Die Stem" is based on the settlement reached in 1994. People chose compromise and peace instead of all out civil war. The current anthem is the perfect metaphor; that what was once separate races can be forged into a single nation - and while that is still a long way off, it remains worthy goal.
