Then during correct rolling something will happen, someone loses position or takes position or whatever, then the rolling stops and another phase begins where an attack and/or counter attack happens. That's not wrong normally it's just the next phase of that encounter.. If one person takes the line and can maintain control of the line, do a technique, etc, then they would enter the next phase involving faan sao... If they can control and do all that then the encounter stops and resets with another roll... There are exceptions and moves that are not generally helpful..just clarifying that the rolling is how the encounter starts not the entire encounter. ChiSao is not fighting or sparring per se but it does use and train elements found in both... Sparring and learning how to transition from ChiSao skills to fighting is also essential.
