Corpuz, Jermine Asia A. 104TM The speaker, named David Adger, said in the video that we use language to express ourselves, our thoughts, our feelings, and the kind of person we are. Which I personally agree with. We express ourselves in a way that other people might not understand because of how they use language on their own. Which is totally okay as language, specifically how we understand the composed sentences, is growing over time. Another thing is about the relative clauses. What I understand about what he said is that there were different types of clauses in how we structure our sentences, but the thought is the same. An example that he has also mentioned is the phrases "the woman who I saw", "the woman that I saw", and "the woman I saw". All of these have the same thoughts but are constructed into different phrases.

As a student I realized after i watch this video is the importance of nature language, specially to know how we used it and delivered by communication. It is the way by which people communicate with one another, build relationships and also in understanding with one another. I know myself that I'm not good in English but i considered that studying is the way to make me better soon.

This video was certainly very insightful and interesting as David Adger talked about the nature of language, describing it as something very dynamic, and my take-aways is that language is much more than syntax which is just the organization of words since language is also part of our identity. The things we say with our language is, most of the time, not direct as we use it to express our thoughts and feelings, revealing and reflecting who we are on the inside, and in relation to language being abstract and influenced by our identity, it is also influenced by our social factors or the people that we surround ourselves with through different grammatical rules than usual.

I really appreciated what linguist said, "We don't use language just to say literal things." From what I've learned, language is used to express our sentiments and who we are as people, as well as to shout out what we want to say. Language is not only a tool for communication; it also allows us to be ourselves.

After watching this video, I realized that language is really important to people because we can't communicate and we can't understand others if we don't know what language we're going to use. Language is a system for communicating, as Mr. David said. We can now express what we feel or what's going on in our minds by communicating it with others.

The one that I valued the most of the information said by the linguist David Adger is we don't use language just to say literal things. That gives me an understanding about his point that we don’t use language just to say things that are literally. However, we used it to express our feelings and also to express what kind of person we are. That gives the nature of language a different kind of perspective not just by talking and communicating with each other. In this way I learn that we not only have a language for communication but also for us to express our feelings towards each other.

I find the speaker's insights into the nature of language intriguing. Especially the idea that language is not just a fixed set of rules but is constantly evolving through social interactions and reflects the identity of its users is thought-provoking. I realized and reflected that it emphasizes the dynamic and adaptive nature of language, which is not always apparent when we think about grammar and syntax. The example of Hackney teenagers developing a new grammatical rule based on their multilingual and multi-ethnic interactions is a testament to the richness of linguistic diversity and the role of language in shaping our social identities.

The beauty of language is more than what meets the eye, every language has its own creative structure and function to the society that really brings the entire system together in a way nothing else could and what more is that learning it from a non-native perspective makes it even more precious with the amount of mental work that it takes for it to work and I believe one could say the nature of language surpasses fashion and time itself.

BSED- 101ED SAMINO, Johanna Marie A. Throughout the whole video, the speaker- David Agder, talks about how peoples language can differ depending on the location and culture of the people speaking it. There is a complex system created by humans that causes the variation of language. While watching, I found myself agreeing with what the speaker is saying. Especially the sentences below. "What it shows is the emergence of a new rule, and that new rule emerges through social factors. It emerges through the ways people interact with each other, the ways they want to be close to each other and it's done completely unconsciously, they don't know they're doing this- and that's how all languages work." I think it's an accurate take on one of the natures of language. People created the symbols, and letters, and words we use, and as time passed by- they changed depending on the context and how the language is being used. We often do this without meaning to, to fully convey the message we want others to receive. Which I think is one of the wonderful natures of language.

The emergence of new language rules through subconscious representations of oneself only goes to show how complex language is. Evangelio, Kate Angela F. 101B [AB-English] - There’s more to language than this. So that is a fundamental aspect of the nature of language but actually when people think about language they think about more than just this aspect of it. - So the more multilingual, multi-ethnic you are, if you’ve got tons and tons of friends who all speak second languages, then you’re much more likely to use this new grammatical rule than if you’ve got mainly monolingual friends. So it really turns out to be the case that it’s in a sense an expression of your identity as a Hackney teenager, completely subconscious. And that is as much part of the nature of language. The creation of new grammatical rules. Joana B. Rivera BSTM - 104TM

According to David Adger's explanation of the nature of language, there are many various ways that language can be used, but they are all utilized by people to convey their thoughts and express themselves. The takeaway that I appreciate most from this knowledge is that we ought not to lose sight of this from our perspective and not only concentrate on the structure of language. Being able to use this system for communication is the attribute that is most crucial. -BSN1 105N CABADING,WINDHY S.

I was taught by the nuns here in Maine. My teachers, even my French teacher in college, always taught by the rules of the language. I see mistakes where individuals like yourself may not. Therefore, I would say, "The person whom I saw" rather than "who" because it is objective case, direct object of the verb of the subordinate clause. "That" would be used for things, including what is abstract like ideas, "the vase that I purchased." There are certain correct forms that are stilted and often changed so as not to strain the natural flow of the language such as "It's I," although more formally and with a relative clause it works better, "It is I who am at fault." Now, of course, stylistically it may be a good idea to simplify, "I'm the one at fault." Rules can make speech, even writing at times, appear artificial and contrived. However, there is a difference between artistic license in formulating speech and blatant mistakes due to ignorance of the grammar. A good example is, "As a janitor, the very same issues may arise when I'm working nights." Instead, it should be, ""As a janitor, I may encounter those same issues when working nights." "Janitor" and "I" must be back to back because I am the janitor. In any event, my language background taught me to understand the why and how of sentence construction. I find, as a result, communication is clearer.

Lander Angelo P. Estanislao BSEd-English 101ED English language in particular has various ways of forming words into sentences, it''s quite confusing to some people considering their nationality, and their arrangements of words or phrases may vary due to the syntax that they've learned throughout studying their native language and our universal language "English.". Based on my observations during my highschool days, some of my classmates are struggling with constructing sentences because they have become habituated to our primary language. They tend to create phrases in our own native language before translating them to English. My point is that English has very complex forms where we can jumble the words and make another variation on the arrangement of objects, verbs, or even expressions. Therefore, it is important to acquire some knowledge about the proper utilization of English so that we can use the language more effectively.

Language does not only limit people with the words they say or introduce to one another, but it apparently improves one's sense of expression. This is merely how language naturally develops; it doesn't mean the process is good or bad. Because languages are living things, grammar generally changes! Similar rules apply to English grammar. Any language that doesn't change will eventually vanish.

BSED-101ED - Uy, Mark Vincent, the information I value the most given by the speaker was, despite the differences in how a language structure its sentences, or its sounds or how the written form differenciates to other foreign languages, essentially they all convey human thoughts and ideas, a process of stacking discrete units such as words and sounds on top of each other as much as necessary, and all of these processes work around the languages' specific grammar rules.

BSN 105N - Salundaguit, Andrew F. What I valued most in the information given by the speaker was that it is clear that social elements or factors such as race, age, gender, region, social class, occupation, role, circumstance, context, and many more have an impact on language and grammatical norms, influencing the linguistic choices we make. English, or really any language, does not function like a machine that modifies and arranges words according to grammatical rules to produce a linguistic product that is acceptable, the perception of language by its audience is a highly complex issue based on many parts, specifically a wide range of social factors.

as I watch the video, and the speaker says that His art is entirely concerned with syntax, or the way he joins words. to elicit meaning, which differs greatly from languages and systems in many ways. human characteristics that lead to this diversity. Moreover, when people consider language, they consider "more" than just one feature. Not everything we say in language is literal. What we do is express ourselves through language. we use to communicate our feelings, our thoughts, and other ideas. what sort of individuals we are. And that is a feature of the way that language works. The relative clause is another topic covered by the speaker. Essentially, it states that when Take a noun, like a flower, for instance. then after that you add a sentence, for example, "a flower that I love." or a plant that I purchased. BSTM - 104TM
