It looks like you should be able to map the sample(s) to the keys.

Sure, you can use dynamic mics with Nautilus. If you want to use condenser mic then you need a preamp.

@@HighlandStudio91 Philo, I have a Kronos2, but use it as a slave machine....I still go with a master keyboard sequencer and a Korg DX32 recorder...currently my MOTIF is my master keyboard.....The best user interface I have ever seen is the current Fantom, but they have to seriously beef up their sequencer before I would make that my master board....

@@HighlandStudio91 I don't compose everything out of one keyboard: I have a Kronos61, FA-08 and old Ensoniq TS12 slaved to the Motif sequencer, and in addition, I have a 3080 Roland module, Integra, and a few other modules. The Korg Digital recorder gives me 16 physical inputs and 32 channels, so I can separate everything very nicely for mixdown purposes....the beauty of the old Korg digital is that patching is done electronically, and it includes automation. I also have an old MIDI distribution box to help route the Motif commands to the other units....for me, it is utter simplicity; everytime I watch DAW videos, I end up scratching my head....

@Songs of Masum I believe the new Fantom has the best user interface ever made....again, the only reason I am waiting on getting one is because, as I explained, the sequencer is inadequate for my particular needs....hopefully, that will be rectified in one of the updates this coming year.....besides playing them, LEARNING about all of the other keyboards is a big part of my hobby, and I pour over the manuals and videos of ALL keyboards: with that in mind, nothing comes close to the Fantom interface.

@@DrGargani we need realtime audio record to sequencer on the fantom, and the aftertouch is not usable aka design flaw ( this actually doesnt bother me), and we need odd time signatures and be able to change them mid tune. other than that i really like the fantom 7 great key bed feel massive library the srx boards and roland cloud freebies. i own a modx also and will likely getting a nautilus also. they have thier strengths in terms of sound design nautilus for the several sound engines, live audio to sequencer. organ engine is unique to the two alternatives, and i think pianos and eps are better. of witch i think the modx pianos are veiled and the eps two ethereal. the fantom has killer digital non acoustic sounds, good harpsichords , and really a nice balance honestly but horns arent as convincing as the modx . the modx i feel shines in many regards but the strings, woodwinds, horns, chromatic percussion being front and centre. cant speak on the nautilus cause i dont own it yet they all kick ass as a composer its a beautiful time to be alive.

@@yeoldmedic7572 yes, it is a great time...I was in at the beginning of all this in the early 80s...my first electronic keyboard was a Fender Rhodes and my first synth was a Korg Poly 6....we have come a long way!!
