"Jamal looks like he can play" well he actually a basketball player at school, the team was called Blue Tiger. He also participated in Hope Basketball All-Star with Ten in 2015. He is big fan of Michael Jordan (thats why his jersey number is 23, he is a nerd) and since you mentioned Chenle in the beginning, chenle and jaehyun are actually basketball mates, they play basketball with each other all the time for many years and call each other "michael JAEdan" and "stephen CHENrry". Jaehyun and Chenle are close that Jaehyun even said that chenle is his fav dongsaeng. You can see him playing basketball with Mark during his relay cam. The clip of Mark not able to shoot was from jaehyun's relay cam actually. Jaehyun's fav basketball team is Lakers, in his previous relay cam he watched Michael Jordan documentary. He went to watch Lakers game while he was in the US last year during american tour, he posted a pic of him at the game on instagram and sent a pic of his jersey on bubble. He is also big fan of High School Musical, which the series has basektball element in it. So, considering all these, thats why he was the captain in this basketball episode.

I feel like this episode shows a lot of SungChan’s personality and another one you’ll see in the future and I love him already. Also I was so happy when Mark finally made his basket like y’all better leave my boy alone😭😭😭
