As a machinist the old timers, even more so with tool & die makers they wore shop coats or sweater vests to keep their ties tucked from danger. I can't tell when the army started tucking the tie in the shirt partially but I always did it as a supervisor.

I am an attorney, and a permanent Deacon in the Anglican Church. In both capacities, conforming to tradition, I used to wear bow ties all the time. This inspires me to start that up again. I am also now inclined to start wearing a tie when I am afield in the fall and the winter. Thank you, sir, for your instructive post.

Great video, yeah I find it rather annoying how long modern ties are, I found ones that look perfectly old timey but they are like 60 inches, so my remedy is to do a double 4 in hand knot.

Please invest in a second camera so that you can do close ups of details you are trying to describe.

Unfortunately, decent cameras aren't cheap. I've tried cheap ones, and they just don't cut it. This is all done entirely as a hobby, so there's a limit to how much I can invest in it.
