Generally large air volume blasters like this are very inconsistent in velocity when you try using them with weak springs at low velocity. They're really designed to excel at high velocity 250fps - 300fps at a minimum.
@DangerMaus I only got the deviation at a good spot for 200fps with the shortest barrel and the worked rifled scar, went through most of my other attachments before finding that out😅
@@airgunballistics1779 Depends on the group. Generally closer ranges than airsoft but some of the blasters are capable of getting tags at 50+ meters (164+ feet).
@@dangermaus9253 Agreed, it depends much on how big your game area is. But the first rule in most organized nerf clubs is "Don't be dick" which means use some judgement and don't tag someone at close range with 300 fps blaster (which can draw blood or worse at at less than 30 feet) and carry a lower powered secondary, like a 150 fps flywheel pistol, for when the range gets to 50 feet or less. Nerf darts lose speed very quickly once they leave the barrel. 300 fps at the muzzle is doing less tha 150 at 100 feet.
I also noticed a lot of inconsistencies with my harrier…..until, I put worker bamboo darts in it. I don’t know why but I was seeing a 5-6 fps deviation with those darts. It likes those darts they were very consistent and very accurate. Give those a try and see if you get the same results.
Agreed. The Worker Bamboos are the most precise darts I have ever used. At 130 fps from my well tuned HvZ and 150 fps cap game blasters with the correct BCAR twist rates, I am getting sub-six inch groups at 50 feet (in low wind). With my 300 fps Swift and 5* BCAR I'm getting sub 18 inch groups at 100 feet. Impressively precise out of flywheelers, too with about 10 fps loss compared to the Worker Gen 4 darts.
Fun fact: Hello Fresh was the first company to let me do that. I've tried to have fun with other ads but they typically don't like you deviating too far from the talking points.
I just ran this at an event and it shoots lazers...EASILY the most tags I've gotten at an event. It's also the most reliable blaster I've ever used and this was with the 450mm barrel and 1.6 250 Spring (not even the 1.6 300 spring which I was meant to use but left at home).
In the paintball world back in the day Delrin bolts were always sold as "self lubricating" as they wore in. Dont know how true it all was since the o-ring did most of it but there had to be something to it. Easy to machine too? Only seen on friction parts I think. Someone please elaborate.
But this aint nerf sadly, cant use in my FUNNN super stock nerf battle tournaments. 💪🏻💯🙌🏻 This blaster is for airsoft/paintball wannabe players. I’d rather use my dartzone blasters for more fun!
@@joshfullbright7678 no because that would require modding and make spending in this blaster a waste. Might as well a buy a nerf modulus with tons of accessories you can use along with better scifi styling! 💯
I address the issue of getting the harrier under 150fps. Cut down a worker swift 1.2 spring to 300mm, your fps range will be 143 to 147 fps on work gen3 reds. The consistency was unbelievable and was a 60 shot chrono test as i couldn't believe the results.
I understand that this video is a little over a year old, but I am going to be getting this blaster and seeing what was on it before Walcom put it into it's stock configuration. If I could get a list of the stuff that was on it so I could get that stuff over time. thank you!
Sorry it took so long. There was something like 4 hours of footage, including outdoor testing shooting at a friend that didn't make the cut. It's been one heck of an edit lol.
I’ve been waiting on the Harrier review….you did not disappoint! I’ve been having a lot of fun with mine and spot on with the bearing prime, I had no need to replace the nylon bearings with the steel bearing, works beautifully as is. Great review
I like the picatinny rail at the bottom of the front end. I'm a big fan of bipods and have 3 of them so having the option of easily attaching a bipod is real plus. Bipods are great if your running a sniper build. The Harrier itself looks great and if I hadn't bought a Jetblaster CEDA, a dartzone Nexas, and 2 Dartzone Tomcats, I would definitely get the harrier and make it my go to blaster. Oh and I guess I'm one of those that subscribed, I mean if your watching this video, why wouldn't you?
Good man with the CEDA. With metal upgrades and a 16kg spring, it's a beast. And the new worker short darts, the ones with the slightly more rigid foam, it'll hit 260fps. Plus I love the ergonomics!
@@FelixstoweFoamForge Back when I bought the CEDA it was virtually the only blaster you could buy that shot half length darts and it was the hardest hitting thing you could own. Unfortunately I bought one of the earliest versions which meant it didn't come with an airtight plunger so it was pretty mediocre. But soon after jetblaster came out with an upgrade kit and once I got that it was getting very good fps and the prime is super smooth. I then went about adding a custom forward grip, a red dot sight, a metal bipod, and an AR collapsible buffer stock. All of those parts made it a lot heavier but it was well worth it.
All I'll say is this, for the money, the harrier is a great blaster, no doubt, but for someone like me who wants to customise my blasters with different options I think the trion is better, yes it might not be aswell made, despite being injection molded aswell, however the fact you can change the fps easier than the harrier and the fact you can change, the pistol grip, stock and foregrip so easily(Which I'm aware you can probably do with the harrier aswell). it's my preferred option given the price difference, plus the trion has slamfire if you want to use it. But this is just my opinion.
why arent these using rival???? IF i saw iether this one or the other monstrosity shooting a rival round 100ft out i would just go home. Also sniper status would 100% be achieved.
What is the top railing size for scope on this harrier? Is it 20mm or 11mm?as well as worker phoenix 2.0 is it same size of top railing for scope mount?
A feature that most miss is on the left side of the stock, there's an M4 thread that you can attach a sling swivel to. I used it to attach a piece of Picatinny rail and put a quick disconnect sling swivel on it.
it is *possible* to do a mag drop, but only if you have it primed back. Otherwise whilst you can yank the magazine out with the skinnier bolt it won't drop out by itself
Yeah... I can buy my Taurus G3C next month. I've maximized the performance of my Stryker and my Nexus, and this looks better straight out of the box. Can't wait to annihilate my coworkers with this thing.
Those blasters are awesome because they're affordable and accessible. They're not endgame. But before they existed you had to spend 200 bucks and build the thing part by part yourself.
I like that harrier offers so many more tactical options and the thought they put into the action and the threaded barrels, but the smaller airtank and springs as well as the fewer options for mods on the market means Swift still surpasses Harrier objectively overall, which disappointed me greatly as i had expected their next creation to be better than their previous iterations.
the moment you said "tactical snack holders", i was instantly reminded about the fact that i thought that a sniper scope was a water container when i was gifted a toy scar with a sniper scope that would make recorded gun sounds
The swift looks way better and all the issues have all been easily resolved, i love mine. If you want a blaster that just shoots just 150 fps or lower you have a very wide range of options (ceda, nexus, stryker, tomcat, aeon pro, trion, dictator, conquest, MK2, etc.) that cost less then half a swift or a harrier. Why even bother trying to make this go low? I don't buy a porsche to ride 50 km/h either....
The only reason someone would want the harrier to shoot low fps is for scalability purposes. Think about it If the harrier can shoot 130 fps it can be in hvz and if the blaster can shoot about 150 it can join the majority of nerf battles and if it can hit around 250 you can go for advanced game modes. At least that’s my take.
I am trying to decide between the New Dart Zone Mk4 and Harrier. I am 6”2’ so I could physically handle either of these blasters. The thing that concerns me most about the Harrier is it’s Scar Barrel. Has anyone found a different Scar that works better than the stock one and doesn’t fall off. I would probably want to use the Harrier around 190 fps. I care most about a solid feel and accuracy. What do you think is best?
With highest power spring 1.6, how does the strength required to prime compare to a nexus pro with a 1 inch spacer? I like high fps, but my nexus pro with spacer is quite an arm workout!
So walcom, gotta question for ya. Which one is more accurate? (This is also considering the price) The harrier or the lynx? I've been looking at a lynx for a VERY long time but havent acted on it cause I'm not an adult so I dont got a full time job yet. But seeing the harrier it's very appealing to me cause I just love AR style blasters but the accuracy of the lynx is what I'm looking for. So what's best you think?
Accuracy is mostly based on your barrel-scar setup. Neither blaster is going to be very accurate without something. They're different things for the most part. The Harrier will undoubtedly be more robust and durable, but the Lynx has 3D printing customization and slamfire in a bullpup config. If you like 3D printed blasters, the Lynx offers a lot.
@@WalcomS7 I do like the idea of 3d printing cause you can add/edit almost countless possibilities. but I gotta give credit to injection molding cause dang that's some tough stuff.
Same I had that problem too. I tried lubing every o ring I see. It only doesn’t leak air when there is a dart in the chamber. But if you dri fire it with your thumb over the front of your barrel there will be some air coming from the buffer tube.
Regarding the aluminum on acetyl/Delrin been using full acetyl on my TCU w/metal sear for about a year and have not seen any breaking or snapping of the acetyl blasters been sitting at 220-217 no issue
I think the only thing I like about the Swift more than the Harrier is the looks. I love the angular sci-fi look of the Swift a lot more than the more milsim-y silhouette of the Harrier, and it feels a lot harder to misconstrue as a firearm (in, say, lowlight situations where the colors aren't standing out). But this really does look like a beast, and the aluminum build and the bearings on the prime make it sound weighty and satisfying as hell.
I do mechanical design professionally. The choice to use Delrin was a smart move on their part. Delrin can take more of a beating than people think. I use Delrin parts all the time in my designs. It's cheaper and lighter than milled/turned aluminum. 7 times out of 10, it's just what I need. Metal parts aren't the end all be all. In this case, for its use as a plunger, Delrin should be just fine. Unless you're trying to tune this to hit 600+ FPS for the rest of the blasters' life span , a Delrin plunger head should be just fine. Nice vid Walcom! I might get this one someday.
Apparently people are having issues with the catch, the plunger head wears off after ~5k shots with the upgraded spring 🤷♂ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2j9nfZ0IWOw.html
@@OmninfinityYea I heard of that I saw Sabre sells a CNC plunger rod for the harrier. Originally i was afraid the 1.6 x 250 spring would damage the harrier’s plunger rod so I didn’t buy the spring yet
The "bolt" action priming handle is absent from the accessories page you linked, where can I find it? also what size barrels were you using for the sniper configuration? 450 or 550? Thanks for the great review- bring back tagback!!
@@WalcomS7 word, hit me with an update on that if you ever get the chance. It probably doesn't matter because of how light you can make the prime, but some folks may prefer the feel of an AFG and it does technically engage a theoretically more powerful muscle group so there are advantages
@@WalcomS7 hmm, I guess I figured the little hump that came down would still restrict a grip that sat far forward but I will take your word for it since I haven't had it in my hands lol
Some things to note; It's not compatible with nearly all AFGs without modifying them. The slightly sloped VFG that worker makes will result in mashing your hand against the front of the magwell. The included mag will not fit in other blasters. You can replace the return spring with a rival mag spring for a lighter prime. The Worker BCAR is pretty bad even for low FPS IME.
Sometimes the Worker Bcar works great. A 90 on the target test is some of the highest I've done, and hitting that little target from across the room first shot shows it works to some degree... But then sometimes it just seems to stop and I couldn't figure out why. It felt like it could be something as simple as the temp in the air.
Take a bipod, scope, add on the side-mounted grip to the right side, with the original magazine, and a Nightingale as your secondary: BOOM. You have a great loadout for either a competitive match, or perhaps some LARPing RU-vid videos.
