Welcome back to another video, where we're going to checking out the nerfs that the Edge of Night received in Terraria's 1.4.4.8 hotfix. I'll be presenting the changes and what they mean on paper for the weapon, and then testing it out on all of the relevant bosses to see how it does!

I’m happy because the nights edge got nerfed because after the 1.4.4 update but before the hot fix it could easily kill plantera

Which is definitely fair. I was thinking about trying to beat the whole game only using the Night's Edge and True Night's edge as a theme for a video, but figured it would take too much time and wanted to just keep my consistency with content up. Like even with such a nerf it's still pretty busted lol

As much as I loved the new Night's Edge, imo it was WAY too strong and was deserving of a nerf, even being able to handle hardmode bosses and could carry you until post-plantera

That would be the definition of too strong, yeah, any pre-hardmode weapon getting you past all of the mechanical bosses is a bit much lol

wouldn't say "carry" to post plant, as you could just kill destroyer with nights edge and craft excalibur, but yeah it was really strong. but having a weapon that doesn't make early hardmode give you an existential crisis is really nice

why not use the adamantite armor for the 20% increased attack speed bonus?

For the QS fight? I just ended up going with whatever I felt could work, which it did

I really like what they did with it. Unfortunate that it had to get nerfed, but considering how hard it still shreds everything it most definitely needed some kind of tuning

@@nathanielbalasta3824 Apparently it could kill all of the starting pre-hardmode bosses fairly easily lol, which is crazy. A bit too much, but it's pretty cool nonetheless. I feel like you could still beat all of the mech bosses with it after the nerfs tbh, it's certainly a lot more effective than the beam sword at least...

@@swyte I think that's pretty fair, because you have to have picked up fucking 4 swords and still has the BIG RISK of ATTACKING CLOSE, so I think this is only fair.
