A bit of info that could help is that you can use a bucket of lava as fuel to smelt 100 blocks (you get your bucket back as well) so the nether can act as good fuel source if you're willing to risk the trips. This can be really difficult if your portal didn't spawn near a lava lake or high above one, though you can still try using it hope this helps

30:38 Flip that around and change some numbers every 1 block in the nether counts for 8 blocks in the overworld (regular place you live in) this makes it very usefull for transportation where you enter one portal, go to another (typicaly by rail for extra speed) portal, and renter the world far away from where you where before. you can actualy see your progress in the nether on you map I believe, it should turn your marker red. Keep in mind these facts may be out of date with the new nether update if you do get that going before the next episode is filmed

even if you have way more gold than iron, gold pickaxes only last 32 uses from 250 of a iron one or 1560 from a diamond one, so you would need to fill your entire inventory with them wich i dont think it is very useful 😅.
