I just realised, this is the first time Atreyu and bastion actually meet. I mean yeah they did wave to each other in the first movie, but this is actually the first time they’ve talked.
The first time they talked was in 1979, several years before this movie, after bastion won the tournament in the silver city by beating the greatest swordsman. He then met atreyu, the wizard, and falcor. Atreyu recognized bastion after seeing him in the mirror.
@@stevenhaffley9852Atreyu said he could barely recognize him because when Bastian entered Fantastica he wished to be strong and handsome and it changed the way he looked. He wasn’t the same looking boy as he was when Atreyu saw him in the Mirror Gate.
@@roguexxrenegade and then a couple chapters later if I remember correctly Bastion almost kills Atreyu with a sword? This movie that the comments are on is an abomination to the book. I wanted to see the giant war that happens at the ivory tower.
@@stevenhaffley9852 I just reread it after a few years and the entire time I was picturing it as a TV show. There’s so much content there in that one book it’s a shame it hasn’t been properly adapted for the screen. That being said I adore these movies as they were a staple of my childhood (yes even the 3rd even tho it’s terrible)
Bastian: "Atreyu, where do we have go from here?' Atreya: "Through the swamps of despair and mountains of terror" Bastian: "That's no so bad, we can make it". Atreya: "Yes, but that's not the worst of it, we have to go through the lands of the monkey lords". Bastian: "You mean Chicago?" Atreyu: "Yes Bastian, through Chicago".
the first movie was fucked up as well ... Michael Ende hated it... if you read the book you will understand why... zero respect for the material... one of the worst adaptation of all time.
I liked it anyway, the actors did a great job even though the story was lacking. The previous actors where probably engaged in other projects or already too "old looking" to play a kid's part.
I would join Ateryu and bastion however I would say that it’s best that Ateryu holds on to the Auryn for good reason and Ateryu would need to have a sheld and his spear.
I don't get these masks. Was the idea behind them connected to the fact that it was described as the "floating city" in the book, so they decided to make a reference to Venice?? Also, it was a normal city with shopkeepers, inns and people performing normal daily activities. This looks like he arrived in a middle of some strange religious festival😂
No offense but the people of Silver City are cowards. That's what the Klingons would call them. Klingons would be much better army in hopes of defeating that evil sorceress Xaida. Klingons do not fear death or retreat from their enemies. They also love the thrill of battle and long for dying in battle. They have powerful warships such as the Klingon D5 battle cruiser's, D6 battle cruiser's, D7 battle cruiser's, K'Tinga class battle cruiser's, K'Vort class, B'Rel class Bird of Prey, Vor'Cha class battle cruiser's, and Negh'Var class battleships.
Yeah... what does Star Trek have to do with this movie? Don't get me wrong, this movie isn't great. But it sure as heck doesn't have anything to do with Star Trek either.
The Klingons think most everyone are cowards. If you just left them out yeah I'd agree but this often happens in movies where only one person is willing to be a hero. I think it happens sometimes in real life as well, you figure someone else will do what needs to be done, whether it requires bravery or not.
