my theory is that the scene at 1:52 was done by some really skilled 3D artist who was so done with the model he was given he re-did her hair simulation (her hair in every other scene looks pretty bad, if you pay attention to it). Also the light and rendering and the animation quality suddenly gets bumped up by like 200% specifically for this one shot and nothing else. Look at the reflections on her skin and everything! I wonder if they got hold of some desperate animation student who was just happy to be part of a movie for the first time, and just really needed a shot for his portfolio?

Tom Kenny was the embodiment of the one responsible kid that does all the work on the group assignment while everyone else does nothing productive. The Pinocchio voice actor is Pauly Shore, who was an MTV VJ that became a popular actor in several stoner "comedies" in the 1990's. This is how his voice normally sounds and he is even more ridiculous and annoying in his live action movies. He also voiced a character in the English dub of an animated animal movie called The Big Trip in 2020, which was also abysmal.

The fact that in Collodi's Pinocchio, the blue hair girl is litteraly the blue fairy (she can change her apparence: in the first part of the story she look like a little girl, and in the second one she look like a woman) and Pinocchio sees her like a sister and, after the change, like a mother figure 💀 Edit: guys, you crazy. Considering this was originally dubbed in Russian, it’s likely we got a ghost stories situation where the voice actors just got high and decided to have fun. Except here the jokes aren’t funny and it’s just ironically hilarious for the wrong reasons.
