Thanks for this video. The Speed line can't be more demanding than the Prestige line, surely?

I got the mp and it’s a great one. You really feel the material absorbing the vibration and it’s super comfortable to me. By the way I like your technique very stylish !;)

Do you think adding some weight at 12 on the mp would be a good idea?

Nice hitting Alex! How do you evaluate the speed vs the gravity?
@alextennis24
@alextennis24 Год назад
Thx Andrew, much appreciated. Specs-wise, they have similarities, depending on the version you like. The head shape of the gravity, the teardrop shape, might not be for everybody. Generally speaking, the Speeds are more maneuverable (but less stable) with more power. The gravity have more comfort and more control. Hope this helps!

@@alextennis24 i had gravity mp, got rid of it, felt like a vibrating plank, got speed mp 2021, very happy. that and yonex vcore 98 were my top side by side picks (with live demos at tennis giant). i have a clash 100 also that i brought to my demo of 6 racquets, felt quite poor compared to speed mp and yonex. I speed is solid and clean great feel, a little head heavy if your arm is tired, might be noticeable if you have elbow or arm weakness. haven't tried pure strike or yonex ezone, those would have been interesting to try also. string choice is important too. makes quite a difference as far as feel. with a stretched out poly like wilson revolve, i could pound the ball like i do and it would usually stay in the court. the clash with non fresh poly was pretty good at sub 50 pounds but the feel and precision is much less than speed mp 360+

Great review for this racquet, better than most! is it ok for volleys do you think
@alextennis24
@alextennis24 2 года назад
Thank you Alan! Much appreciated! Both of them are excellent for volleys, due to having a high swing weight ( weight coming through the ball). The pro version is actually my preferred one at the net. Because of the weight of the racquet, it is extremely stable. Now, if you can manage the pro version, you shouldn't have any issues! hope this helps!

@@alextennis24 thank you, much appreciated, I actually have recently purchased the speed Pro version but have not yet had the opportunity to get to grips with vollying with it, thanks for the advice, I can now start to focus on vollying more with it and have more confidence

Alex, I love your stroke tempo. Very smooth, you don’t overhit - it looks pretty effortless. I could use some of that… I swing too violently! Great review too, but it’s funny - everywhere I look it talks about the Speed Pro’s high swingweight, but on mine, it really feels mid 320’s. Tennis Warehouse said the swingweight of the Pro is 326, which feels more right to me. But again, lots of people say what you say and talk about its high swingweight. Any clue how to reconcile these two opinions? (I don’t trust myself, but do trust Tennis Warehouse so I know I’m not crazy!)
@alextennis24
@alextennis24 Год назад
Thanks for the kind words, Andrew! I appreciate it! For the swingweight, everything from the type of string, the gauge, the tension and even the method of stringing will affect the SW. Also, it can simply be poor quality control for the manufacturer. Hope that helps!

Regarding Alex stroke tempo and his smoothness consider that he is just playing very relaxed, not to win a match.

I have the Pro and don’t find that it’s missing any spin. More spin than my 16x19 Blade even.

You mentioned you liked the left hand feel but isn't the throat area where it's white in a matte finish and only the black part is glossy?
@alextennis24
@alextennis24 Год назад
Yes. but for some reason, the matte finish is not the same as other head model racquets, I find.

I'm a 3.8-4.0 senior singles player: One- handed backhand, moderate racquet head speed, good touch and slice, mostly flat, some TS..Some say I should go with the Pro because I hit flat. However, others say that the Pro is too advanced for my level, and I should go with the MP... Your insight/ recommendation would be greatly appreciated!
@kimmorrison9169
@kimmorrison9169 Год назад
not “too advanced” but is a heavier racquet than the MP.
@alextennis24
@alextennis24 Год назад
Hey john! From what i can see from your game, the PRO can suit you, because it is design for control mostly, because of the 18x20 string pattern. The thing is that for the speeds, the swingweight is so high that it makes your arm fatigue quicker over a long period of time, that's why.. It seems fine swinging it for 15-20 min, but after that it becomes harder and harder.. unless you have a perfect technique in my opinion. But there's nothing like a test to see. Hope this helps!

Personally, I think this paint job is the best they’ve had so far. It’s very similar to the old graphene 360.

Am 64 years old. 5'6"/145lbs, all court game. Will be play testing the Yonex Ezone 100. Which of these two do you think would be better for me?
@alextennis24
@alextennis24 2 года назад
Well, the fact that you have an all-court game, the ezone 100 should definitely be good for you as it is meant for that! Easy power and spin. For that reason, I would be aiming more toward the MP version, because you will find many similarities with the ezone, as it is more maneuverable and has easier access to spin and controllable power. Hope this helps!

When I demo'd these, I found the 2022 Speed MP to be VERY similar to the 2022 Ezone 100; both had fairly easy access to power and spin but quite a high launch in my hands (a little too much so, for me), wheras the Speed Pro played very differently; lower laucnhing, more precise but also a bit more demanding to use (needed good technique on every stroke). All three are good sticks and among the best of the 10 or so I tried this year.

What type of strings do you recommend with these ?
@alextennis24
@alextennis24 2 года назад
I actually like the head hawk with those frames. It is not too stiff, not too soft. Because the speeds are powerful racquet in my opinion, not the most but still, the head hawk would be a good choice, it is low-powered, and very spin-friendly. So you wouldn't have to worry about balls flying off the string bed too much. Hope this helps!
