I got a Standard ~~!!! with Genuine Wind shield, Sissy Bar, Sundowner 2up seat, Engine Guard 2ch Black box, and Wireless cell phone holder~~~and so on Standard has enough torque, nimble handling, fast acceleration, elegant and classic design~~ What else do we need here? On top of that, the price is reasonable. So I ride it every day with a smile~~😊
I like the mini apes but drag bars would look badass if done right with a spring seat. 107 is a beast while smooth af. I put forward controls on mine right away. Best bike I've had in 40+ years of riding.
I like this color. I also like black. I think I’m glad there was a change. The 107 is plenty of motor for that little bike. Although, like every guy out there, we always want more. To get more, it wouldn’t be hard with a stage 2.
Good review, thank you. I like the color. Additionally, I was going to buy the Softail Standard new, but I found a 1 year old Street Bob with low mile and upgraded pipes. So, I went went with the Street Bob. Both do have more than enough power.
First thing I’d add is a creature comfort item. Cruise control!! Second they do offer it in vivid black. Third I love it in that color. Personally I like color for visibility
The Grey sucks on top if the brushed aluminum. Blacked out, yes. All chrome, meh. But the aluminum chrome and black with the grey lacks cohesiveness...then there are the wheels!!!! But the vivid black suffers none of these issues LOL
@@theinfinitryda I can get almost 200 miles to the tank on the highway. My old ass is ready for a break and I've never been a long distance rider anyway. My sporty has a 2.3 gal tank but it fits the bike too.
That was a great review! Thanks for your unbiased opinion! Excepting a higher seat and probably a windshield I wouldn't add to many things on this bike. I like it simple as it has been built. A Softail Standard would definitely be my choice if I decided to by a Harley.
The main difference between the 107 & 114 that I hear from others that have bought new Harley’s is that the 114 has more to offer on the top end where as the 107 at a certain point it sorta drops off of power.
I love the billiard grey, I don't get the hate!? I'm buying one! I wish it had just a black bar and shield badge though instead or red letters on tank.
A darker grey would have been better...maybe with a pinstripe down the tank edge or a two-tone paint scheme to offset that Pepto-Bismol blob-looking tank. I opted for the vivid black (the BEST bobber colour, IMO). I absolutely LOVE this bike for its highway performance and gentle behaviour around town. The 107 wakes up BIG when you open it up! It handles very well for its height and with the right seat, you can get through a 4-hour riding session without needing a back massage. I've routinely gotten 54mpg on 91 octane, but the range drops pretty quickly when I drop the hammer more often. I understand effective marketing, but I don't want to hear the phrase "blank canvas" to describe this bike ever again! I would rather just use the word "plain". Doesn`t everyone make a plain bike their own by customizing it? With so many bits, bobs and bling to buy, we are motivated to improve a dull-looking vehicle - otherwise we'd all be driving a K-car, right? Apart from this new base-model color, the Softail Standard is a pretty solid starting point. That's my two cents...
glad I got my 2023 FXST WHICH IS BEING UP GRADED to a 119 C.I. Screamin Eagle Stage 3 and it is Black. I have drag bars on mine ,had my dealer do that before taking her home.
today I was told they started the final dyno to do the new map and tune. turns out they found an issue with the transmission and are putting in a new trans so I have to wait, this is why I did this in winter so hopefully it will be ready for spring, tempatures are around 18-30 degrees no snow yet, I have another bike a 2018 Kawasaki Zed 900 naked that I still ride until the snow and ice starts in Minnasota. Thankfully the warrenty covers the transmission. I am short so drag bars work for me, been riding since 1969 and all of my bikes have had clip-ons or dragbars. this is the first brand new Harley I have ever owned and man, I love her. took me a life time to save up for this one because I refuse to finance I use GAB and minds and I may put picwen she finished. stay in the wind, Brother@@kenster007
In the 1980's we used that some color primer on our cars and trucks with fancy wheels and tires. Is Harley really trying to capture that vibe? Only 35 years late😅
@@theinfinitryda I mean, tastes very from person to person, but I just don't think it fits the overall look of the bike. If they wanted to keep the handle bar clean looking they could have gone with a fuel tank speedometer like they do in other models. It would look the part. The HD Nightster for example which is a more modern"ish" looking bike and wouldn't look as off with a rectangular digital spedo, comes with an analog. Is this kind of design decisions from HD that I honestly don't get. I'm not hating on Harleys, I love them. Just not a fan of some of the design choices they're going for in the past few years.
The other shades of Grey were good lookers. The new base color Grey was an instant flashback to the early 1980's with all us high school kids painting that same color primer on our cars with fancy wheels and tires
Why cant they give us a blacked out option? I like the bike but either commit fully to chrome or to black. This half and half style is a big turn off for me and why I wont ever buy one even though this is the model im looking to move up to. Now I gotta move up to Street Bob which is way too much money for me. Softail standard is too much money for me already.
What a cost cutting Motorcycle! Compare the M8 FXST to the older TC and Evos, it’s night n day, really! I prefer the older ones with all the chrome, the fat rear tire on that shiny rim!
Just got mine in black.......mmmm not impressed....gear and brakes in hard to reach positions....engine clanks and no low end grunt...suspension shite....sounds like a cub50....done 25 miles......nope not for me.....needs spoke wheels to soak up rough roads ....mags are awful ....riding position ok if you are 5'9" pegs are to high....all very well saying oooooh you can change all that...F O!! Just spent a load on it to buy it....let alone given them more money.......be honest with ya all bought it without test riding it ....lesson to be learnt here always try before you buy....because dealers lie.....so my review.....build quality 8/10....riding position...5/10....riding in all environments 7/10......engine performance and sound 4/10......overall value for money 6/10.....would I buy another with the new Mill8 ....nope....sorry Harley I have owned 7 Harleys worse one yet ......for me anyhow this is my opinion....perhaps your will be different....not all lemons are the same......ride safe now x....
For the money you pay for these overpriced toys, you would think they have more color choices than primer gray. It's probably $100 more for the HD sticker.
No way For this style of bike, like most Harleys, mini-apes or regular ape hangers fit, but those are shaped weird. I hate the trendiness of T-bars, but I get the appeal, after having drag bars, for a while, and wishing they were higher. I have mini-apes on my Sportster, and I ride fast. They handle the same.
