Finally got this installed. No issues with pop-rivets. Did have some trouble with the fender liner, and the template layout. It was a little tight getting the snorkel mounted. I could have shifted it toward the front bumper and up on the fender by a couple MM. Also, be patient and check twice the A pillar alignment. It was a little low, but I made it work.
I had no problem with the supplied rivets. I also installed the TRD cold air intake and I had an unexpected result, better fuel economy. I now get an extra 80 miles to the tank. Thanks for the videos
I can't do any installations without some Yota Xp Merch! Great video, just snagged a 21 Venture and my Pro Bumper kit is arriving tomm from you guys. looking forward to more orders, these are awesome and helpful for future projects!
How does the air raid intake affect the acoustics of the TRD intake? Any noticable performance gains at highway speeds with the higher airflow from the scoop?
Great video. I was just wondering about water getting in when driving during a rainy day. Is that something to be worried about? Is there some kind of pre-filter for this scenario?
Your factory air box has a drain in the bottom for water to drip out of. There will be no issue with driving in the rain. If you want, you can turn the top backwards so it's not going into the rain.
The issue we had with the rivets was they weren't getting tight. After installing the rivets, the bracket still moved around. I believe we put m5x.08 rivnuts in it.
@Yota Xpedition thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if it was the rivet tool or the curve of the A pillar that caused the fitment issue. I'm installing this next week and I appreciate the video.
I'm 100% sure. There's a possibility that it might be close but I'm sure some modification to the hole is going to be needed. Obviously, all the mounting holes will be different as well and your old ones might show.
