The new arena:
Gets Rid of NPC story spamming
Makes the gear easier to get
Gives charms now
Gives reforge mats now
Frees up conquest points for use on charms
Allows quick battling
It seems to be better in every way... except one. And its the elephant in the room that is ruining this revamped mode.

It's not cheating but they're exploiting a system flaw, which is almost the same, I'm not saying they should be punished, but at least we could get some rewards for it... and about the player being good people, I have to disagree xD

There has to be some sort of reset at some point because eventually the gap in points from champ 5 to champ 4 will be so large that I could've went from champ 4 to emp/legend with those same points. Lets take Tristen's example: He was still Champ 2 (top 2000) with 6,900 points, I'm Champ 5 with 5,550 points rank 8060. I need to gain ~1,400 points to climb 3 leagues 6,000 ranks, meanwhile Legend 6/emp 1 (top 100) in Global is 7,248. That's only 350 points to climb 1,900 spots and 6 leagues (and with first time clear rewards). This really discourages me from playing arena at all after the battle pass is complete, just rather do npc arena for weekly 150 skystone reward

Bro, same, even the ranking is broken In the main page it says I'm "Top 2900" but when I go into my details it says I'm "Top 3900" By the amount of pts. we got we both should've been Emperor V at Top 1000 but instead we're hardstuck in a queue bigger than bank queues because people don't come down.

nice video, but very important: not resetting points is the easy solution but when one is entereing mondays the lobby there should be the current arena refresh automaticly, so everyone who plays daily (normal) is equal effected by having the own defense attacked :) thats fair and nice and doable to change in the game code further no needs being sad about points getting scrumbled just because it is a new calendarweek so said :) greetings DevoLine

In a more serious comment Thanks for bringing this up Tristen, I could not agree more about the resetting to base rank. The biggest thing for me is that the season is already over and im regeared for rta 3 weeks in... and you cant blame anyone since if you do login you get hit 5-600 times and have to do just as many attacks just to stay where your at for reference i do about 850 attacks a week and got hit around 575 attacks per week. Its either you play for 7 days 24 hrs or for 2 hours on Sunday. SG please dont ban anyone doing this either, you left this garbage system in SINCE LAUNCH and its been used by alot of the top 30 and top 3 players in the previous seasons. My hot take on arena is I also believe quick battles should be BANNED from the last hour of legend arena. Just save all 10 for the last 20 mins and you shoot up enough for free frames/legend skystones. Overall im disapointed with the new system and if they keep it Ill just collect my frame week 1 of every season

How does this work? Do they play before reset or after reset? When they log in before rest on sunday night doesn't doesn't the points get calculated and they drop down?

VERY good point on quick battling. And i hope you know i hold you and many others in high regards. If i came off as implying any different i cry pardon. This situation is entirely smilegates bad. I cant blame anyone for playing the rules to advantage. My goal is to see things changed for the better - not to cause issues for the players.

Agree with you 100%! Before the revamped arena came into effect, I've been chilling in Champ 5 for years. After the revamped, I was knocked back to Challenger I. I had to fight my way back into Champ rank. Now despite winning many games and trying to push up, I'm still stuck in Champ 5! Based on the old system, my current score should've put me in Legend VI at least. Been playing since launch and this has to be by far the dumbest QOL that SG has implemented! So many of us have already lost interest in the game and instead of making the game more exciting, they're causing more frustration for us who're trying to hang in there 😞

Interesting stuff, never made it to legend, but my account is Challenger II, but I'm gaining points daily so I think I'll be able to at least break into champion this season and end there, which is an improvement from not being able to get out of challenger V in previous times. New Moon Luna, Mediator Kawerik, LH Cermia, and Briseria is working pretty well

I think instead of resetting points since that just kinda makes only the final push really matter. Instead your losses should be recorded and when you do log on you take that hit. So youd have to be proactive in keeping rank and the whole season still matters.

This is the way. Not having your losses recorded because you didn't tap a button is bogus. Either that, or require players to log in within 48 hours of reset or face demotion.

That makes sense. I'm still challenger 5 while getting close to 5800 points. Gotta be top 3000 to get to Champ 4 but there's like 6k people and it feels like it never changes.

Well, i got informed of this system just lst Saturday and i was testing this just for the start of the week. On one side, yes it is ridiculous to be able to sit like that. It is not fair nor right. On the otherside, i do understand why people do it. For the first weeks of this new season and new system, i got hit more than i can attack even with resets. And it's trully enraging to see that you can be focused and loose more than 200-300 pts in just few hours. Becaus those points you'll have to play for hours to get them back. I did my share of matches and i will continue to do so to get myself my first top30. However, this system rewards those who wants to climb and do their matches. Even when i got 300 defeats, with 300 wins i can climb few hundreds of points. And that with each win getting me 13pts. Because there are only few people who can get me points (being in higher ranks). So overall, climbing is hard but it's totally achievable, but it's a marathon, it's not a just a 100m race like it was before. I'm on European Server, I love doing arena, and yeah I agree with you about the sitting system is not good.

They should also change the top whole numbers to percentile for ladder rankings, this way it will spread the distribution evenly and allowing people to climb the ladder more efficiently. Top 100 in legend or 1000 in emperor is so stupid considering the decent amount of players in e7 which leads to huge players congested in champ.

imo resetting points weekly makes the hall of fame push irrelevant until last week. maybe something like point decay would be more fitting for emperor +

This is not true. Hall of Fame is based on the average of your placement at the end of each weeks. It looks at all 12 Sunday nights and averages them. For example - 2 seasons ago i ended the season Rank 9. My overall rank was 23 (because it averaged the entire season for my final score - and thats what procs HallOfFame)

@@nyansam yes, every week you get Season points based on your top100position when arena closes. Then, end of season you get the respective arena frame based on the acumulated Season points during it. You can check the Ranking > Season Ranking to see where everyone Season points are at right now.

Hi Wulf! I have a question about this "camping system". Doesn't players lose their points when they log in anyway? I mean if a player got hit some times the attacker got points and defender should lose the points when he log into arena. So whats the benefit of that feature if you gonna drop in rank anyway?

The new arena doesnt drop points any more. Everyone's score is locked in place from the moment arena ends till the moment you log in and click on arena. If you dont enter arena you dont take any point loss from red shields or point gain from green shields.

Yeah, this is a huge issue. I was rank 95 week before last, and collected on Monday as usual. I tried to get to Legend again this week but the rating was just too high. I was rank 16 Emperor with over 7k points right before reset. In my opinion, the lack of rank resets is good for every rank BEFORE Legend. All Legend players should get reset to Emp 1 each week at whatever points the Rank 1 Emperor had the week prior so that people can actually try to grind it and it becomes competitive. Even the Rank 1 legend shouldn't be an exception imo because then they would start with a ~500+ point advantage over the competition, which is the equivalent of ~40 flags or so. The camping issue is clearly a bug that needs to be fixed more than anything though.

I don't think point resetting weekly is the best strategy. I think it needs to happen once to fix these insane point totals though. It's just gonna make it a pain for low ranking players to hold rank because attacks are like 10x higher than they used to be. So starting at base points means casuals have to grind a ton just to hold champ every week. I get attacked like 8-12 times a day sitting at Champ V and I just do my ai battles to waste flags. I'm not even attacking other for them to revenge atk me. Luckily my def team has a 50% winrate. For people who don't have certain meta def units, they're gonna have a very hard time maintaining Champ V if points reset weekly. I think a better fix is just removing the "you can't lose points unless you log in" part for Emp and Legend. Camping in Champ won't really matter as much then because if your point total gets too high it'll toss you into emp where you can start losing points again.

I'm a tad bit confused about the ranking system. I'm currently rank 1995th with 6139 points but I'm only at Champion V. When I check the league info I should be at a higher tier. I asked about this in E7 discord, they told me that I was only rank 1995th at Champion tier and not on the overall arena tier. They said my overall ranking is roughly around 3000+ that's why I won't move up the ranks. It doesn't make sense to me and I'm really confused. Is that how arena works? It just shows you your tier ranking and not your overall ranking?

yes, there are 1100 players above champion (1000 in emperor and 100 in legend) so you need to add that onto your ranking.

I would simply assume that Emperor I, buy the 12th week, will be in excess of 20k points, while Legend 1 will be 40-50k points. It is still possible for the top 3 to camp their selves out of Legend, although it is very very hard. The RNG needed to get that is astounding.

When they announced the revamp of arena, this how I assumed it would work. you keep your rank but get moved down to the lowest amount for said rank. Not keep your points for the entire season. Thus gatekeeping any late raisers in the rankings.

SG really need to look at limiting the number of times you can attack and be attacked weekly, and instead of the Battle Pass being 1 level per day, increase it to 7 levels per week (so if you dump all your flags on a monday, it's no different than doing it over 7 days). The gaps in the top 10 is fucking insane - #1 having double #4? Ridiculous.

Since you've fought Belian I'd like to mention one thing what is not fair about her. She cancel your souls and she do that even when she is eliminated from the field and I find that unfair! If you eliminate Aurius or Escort holder or the unit that provoked you from the field, their effect is gone so why eliminating Belian isn't the same thing?

they go to 7000 legend 1 rewards. Then soon as they do an attack or get attacked or an hour passes they derank to where they belong. Thats how the system worked in the past/

Before I even watch, is it the revenge feature?? Because it makes no fkin sense that someone gets to attack me twice for points, and I can only get points from the 1st revenge win. That's easily been the most frustrating part while trying to climb. edit: ok yeah, that camping part sucks also. Hopefully they fix it, but I do blame those guys just camping. It is their fault. They know damn well they're exploiting a feature that is not meant to be that way. They should be punished for it.

i will keep the not resetting points weekly coz i believe it allows players like me, who only use free flags but has high offense winrate, to compete. with that said, winrate and consecutive victories should not reset as well and they should have a significant impact on the rankings. if you are on a 500 consecutive victories and your offense is 500-0 then you should be sitting pretty high up there, unshakable. lastly, no camping allowed. make players lose points from defeats even if they dont login.

I dont want to play arena :/ i just want to afk not get attacked 500 times everyday i dont want to play because the defenses are so annoying just want to collect my 800ss and not touch arena till sunday i honestly can just buy my rank rewards in the battle pass thats what ive been doing even before this revamp...... I see your perspective, but I honestly don't agree with you on this, at least not for everyone especially those in lower ranks climbing. IF ANYTHING, your take should apply for those in the top 2-3 tiers of arena and leave the other ranks alone since they don't really mean s**t anyway. At least that's my take on all of this. I'm fine with the camping in lower ranks because it's much easier to climb even or newer players. The top 2 arena tiers are where the real deal players are anyway. I truly appreciate your thorough analytics in game though. Keep being great bro!

The problem is that even newer players win never be able to climb and achieve those first time rewards and allowing top level players to cheese a system that grants them even more free resources hence widening the gap even more where players are never going to catch up. The whole point of arena is suppose to make things engaging and allow anybody to achieve the top spot. When you’re able to just camp no one is allowed to move up even newer players. I’m champ 2 but my point total exceeds emperor 5 yet I’m still stuck in champ 2. Where’s the logic in that. It’s bc ppl are camping point totals. And eventually never players will never catch up.

You know that it's even more important for lower rank right? i'm in champion with 6700+ point when i should be in emperor already but i can't climb when they freeze their arena points

It's even harder to climb now because it only took me 70-100 wins to reach legend, now it's way over 200 wins and i'm not even emperor

Well, did you ever woken up on Monday just to find out you were beaten down a rank falling out of safe zone followed by weekly reset that kicked you another rank down because of not being in the safe zone? Unless you was really active PvP player with enough meta units built you lost your gem income and basically couldn't recover and just keep falling. At least I didn't recover for months until this rework. I understand your complaint and as long as your suggestion applies only to top tier PvP it's ok. Just don't mess it up for regular players that are not PvP freaks.

He wants a game mode where people ACTUALLY ENGAGES with the game without cheesing it. I got another gacha where this happens and OH BOY does that mode it's hated like the plague. I'm actually curious: Arena it's a reasonable place to practice teams for RTA and if you don't fancy that, those sky stones for first time and weekly rewards are quite useful. Why are you against making it hard BUT you have an actual chance to reach there?
