I’m glad they are adding ARs as I think it will be the gateway to adding more weapons and animals that are more controversial. My state allows hunting with ARs without restriction and I like to see them acknowledge that a lot of people hunt with them.
I like the detail of having a different reload for if the gun is empty or still has one in the chamber. It's a thing you don't see in the other guns (apart from the M1), and it's nice to see that added detail.
Most likely a balancing decision. And since the devs are Swedish, 5 seemed to be a good number as its regulated here that your magazine max capacity must be 5. As Flinter said at 5:30, this is basically why they decided on 5 rounds.
@@deathskrieg5525 ive shot an ar10 in 6.5 creedmoor which is somewhat comparable to a .308 and it wasn’t a mule at all, and also an ar15 in .50 beowulf that had more kick than the ar10 6.5 I shot. But then again, imagine the ability to deck 5 animals back to back with minimal recoil, I assume that was the reasoning
My only things is why make the 308 stronger than the 30-06? When the 30-06 is clearly larger than the 308. I get it both 30 cal but the 30-06 definitely has more powder capacity. Just makes the realism of the game kinda seem less right.
They can just say something like “oh bullet grains are different” which could make the .308 have more energy in real life. Just they mainly did it to give it an advantage over the M1 besides just recoil so it gives people who already own the M1 pack a reason to go buy another weapon pack. As a lot of people probs wouldn’t buy it just for the lower recoil.
Agreed. I get this is a game. But it’s at least trying to be somewhat of a simulation. But the various weapons and their respective power seem to be all over the place
@@Christophhanderson 5 round mags make sense as a lot of the guns are built around US regulations, and if you want a semi auto you need to cap the mags at 5 for most game aside from hogs
I just want a hardcore mode with realistic hunting elements and better animal behaviors. Something that rewards skilled players and punishes unskilled players. The call of duty shooting gallery is great and all, but I think a lot of the veteran players are ready for more of a challenge then shooting everything that moves.
@@bairyhalls00 but tracks are not indents in ground but holograms, so turning them off would completely eliminate tracks instead of them being harder to spot
@@r4yker442 no, you can still track with the hints off. its been a little while since I played so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I remember turning it off and being able to track. its a lot harder though without the extra help.
I was thinking the same thing. In real life the .270 has more footpounds of energy therefore more stopping power. .270 and .308 are close to the same so I don’t like how much more powerful it is than a few of the other rounds.
I’m confused why they would change how long they have their head down with drinking. Animals in real life constantly lift their head to check their surroundings as they drink. What’s the point of drink zones if they are just feed zones. Animals keep their head down when they eat because it’s often in the cover of bush where they feel safest
I hope they steadily update and get new content out for this game. I would love to see an archery update along with tree stands. I think they should also implement game trails and have the ability to lay bait or feeders to get deer coming to a specific location much like in real life. Hanging a drip bag and watching over a feeder in a tree stand with a bow is pretty realistic.
Instead of that orange that they used to have on the medals, they should do a bit of yellow or orange on gold, and a little light blue on the diamonds. Nothing over the top, but at least a little eye catching. It’s good looking as far as being more minimalist, but it’s somewhat drab on the colors.
I was initially planning on skipping this dlc, i have next to no interest in using ARs to hunt. But they seem too good to not use for grinding, so I guess I'll get it to speed that up and save my bolt actions for hunts i'm actually engaged in.
Why not test the power of a class 4-8 rifle on actual class 8 animals? Every 4-8 weapon can 100% quickkill a class 4 animal 🙄 The difference in stopping power will only show up when hitting the upper limits of what the weapons are capable of.
The diamond medal should have some sort of sparkle or shimmer to it! It should also be more platinum colored, so it's more visually distinct from the silver! I like the design of the medal, but the color is just to close to the silver medal!
Been playing this game a couple of years now, and I'm convinced the rifle performance on the shooting range is not the same as what you get out in the field. I think there's another hidden accuracy stat going on here.
Two things I noticed from watching a couple of creators: the new badges are a downgrade and the 223 is underpowered, it took long to kill a chamois (from a kc video)
What's next? Shoot a fox with Panzerfaust? Or wild geese with an 88 mm anti-aircraft gun? This game is getting more and more gaspy and more and more out of stupid kids play. The new update is also full of another bug.
The only reason I’m getting this dlc is for the .308. I don’t like how it’s not realistic compared to the .270 and 30-06 but I can deal with it for sure. Still though they make them with 5 round mags to be realistic and then make the gun way overpowered
i never get the AR 15 fanboys. this is NOT a good hunting rifle. but at the end of the day, it doesn`t hurt anyone, if we get more rifles in the game. i would prefer more propper hunting rifles, like Christensen Arms MHR, or the Christensen Ridgeline 300 Win Mag, but ok... i am happy for the kids^^ i still buy the dlc, just like all the others, just to support the devs, but i am not sure, if i ever use those ARs.
And that's totally fine man. I happen to enjoy that they're in the game, since really you can hunt with any gun, as long as you use the right gun with the right caliber for the right game. Fascinatingly enough, Christensen Arms makes some of the highest quality ARs with carbon fiber barrels, making them quite light. Say, do you ever do any coyote hunting/pest clearance in-game?
@@jakesoros2376 i hunt everything. i played for over 500 hours, but mostly i walk around and shoot what i see. with my 3 rifle loadout i can hunt any animal in the game. if you like those ARs, have fun using them. i guess, i give them a try, but i can`t see any reason, why they should replace my current rifles.
@@jakesoros2376 i use the 22 hornet, cant wait for the buff with the next patch^^, the solokhin and the 300. i take the cacciatore with me, if i am lazy and like to hunt ducks or geese. with this loadout i could go after everything i see, on any map, with just 3 rifles. i only need a deer grunt caller, with the whoes deer perk i can call in most animals with just this 1 caller, and i have still room for binocs, scope and a tent, i like to have the tent, so i dont have to jump to an outpost if i want to buy ammo, a tripod stand or get something else. with a tent, i can do this everywere i want. i never need scent ex, or med kit, i just look for the wind and dont jump from hills^^

terrible medals. gold looks like bronze and diamond looks like silver. and i dont like how slowly it shows you. i just shoot something, take a quick peek at the medal and move on. now i have to wait for it to show me the rating...
So Flinter would you recommend I replace my 243 with the 223 AR when I’m not grinding? I’m gonna replace my M1 for the 308, even though I dont love the way it looks
I can't speak for the ARs, not interested in them, but the M1 will drop pronghorn that quickly. Don't ask how I know, lost many need zones. Nice looking melanistic stag.
They're great for exploring. The .308 is a very versatile round in this game and the AR works just fine up to around 370yds. You can run around with the 22 hornet, .223 AR, .308 and you're good to shoot pretty much anything you see. If you're gonna use the AR's on a dedicated hunt, it's best for herd animals. Like Roosevelt Elk, the .308 is perfect for them. Use it with a low powered scope so you can get more rounds out with less eradic scope movement. I love using the .223 AR on Coyote and Fox because they're very quick animals. You tap them once anywhere while they're mid sprint. Then they're forced to stop for a moment and while they're recovering, you take a lung.
Well. Follow up shots are good advantage. You miss the first shot due to reasons like wind and the humidity in the weather, you can quickly take up another shot
You do not have to buy these guns when you get the dlc.. I would recommend weapon pack 1 or smoking barrels but it seems like the 308 is pretty good compared to the m1 in the pack.

Having an accuracy nerf on the semi autos seems like a typical game balancing mechanic even if it's not the most realistic option. I know you like your lever gun irl but it's hard to think of a way the semi auto isn't or wouldn't be an across the board upgrade. 🤷♂️
Scarecrow said that the .22 trick is no longer a thing. They get spooked. He also said that animals don’t lift their head while they drink. This is why it took so long for the melanistic to lift

AR's are man hunting not game hunting guns, otherwise let's bring miniguns, bazookas, and nuclear weapons, is that efficient enough? This DLC is only a pity way to try to rehabilitate these homicidal weapons making them appear to be normal hunting guns.
So the same caliber in a different style weapon is okay? They are a viable tool for the job, a true hunter needs one bullet for the job, another one lined up in case the animal doesn't go down. That said, why would it matter to you if the gun is semi auto or having the hunter manually put a new round in the chamber? As a hunter who has used everything from muzzleloaders, pumps, semi autos, levers, bolts.... Your complaint towards ARs is invalid. The dlc brings guns people already are using to hunt, to a game they can hunt on.

They need to add a world war one weapon pack like with the 1911 the Ross the Webley the trench gun the Mosin-Nagant and the Berthier and the ruby it will be so sick and they’re all rabbit and deer calibres
Me personally I like the 223 rifle but I wish it could look like the other rifles and for the other rifles to have different colors/patterns still really cool though
u should make a lodge where you dont grind for any of the tropthies, anyone could grind for trophies it really makes the game so much more fun doing realistic hunts and stuff. big fan since 2017 keep it up!
I just bought the ar dlc last night and they are such good rifles and making follow up shots is so easy now. Can make the shot and the animal gets stunned then take a second shot and it will just drop right where it stood

The controls are so messed up for my Xbox and I can't change the layout so I just gave up on playing the game entirely. Thanks to you I can still enjoy the game.
I'd love a civil war and Buffalo hunters weapons pack. Spencer rifle, sharps rifle, henry 44-40, etc etc etc... ESPECIALLY sharps and rolling blocks in 38-55, 45-70,90,110,120 as well as 50-90, 110 and 140. Some absolutely absurd and cool calibers
That recoil is WAY over exaggerated. AR-15 in .223/5.56 has about a 2/3 of the recoil the .22 AR on here has. An AR-10 in .308 has about similar recoil that .22 had, and a .22 AR has about 5% of the recoil that .22 had, basically none at all.
Took a moose from 283m with one shot from the 308, these new weapons are really goos and they are all i really carry now. Love your videos keep up the awesome work
I'm glad to see this video. I've been thinking about getting a hunting game on my Xbox One and was told to this game would be on Xbox One. Now I think the AR's are good one video games and people who use them for good like Hunting Boars and other animals in the wilds, and they are people out there who uses then in Uncool and Dangerous ways. ALL I saying is most people know the difference between Right and Wrong, Good and Evil. Weapons in Real life that are used in games aren't the problem. Games are a means to escape and to find comfort. There's people who never been hunting but can feel like they can go out into the wilds and do this and not feel not to get carried away. That's just my opinion I guess.

nice little updated video thats an awsome pack (i want that green gun) i'd also like more maps to explore. since my birthday just past ...3-31 a friend down in so cali sent me money but when playing this game last night i came up with a plan: rather than me spending that money on clothes and other stuff im going to put that money in my ps wallet (you know how the game costs around 25 bucks) well idk but im sure with the add ons from all the starter packs and the 4 other maps im sure that will all cost about 20-25 total i'll let you know too bad i couldn't like use a code in the ps store for a dicsount to enter at checkout but it's fine (i can tell that africa map is wild im ready in some ways to kill a lion !!

I need help, for some reason my maps keep the animals at the center of the map? I wonder around the map for hours then towards the middle of the map I get a frame drop & find easily 50-100 animals.
And this is why I use a .308 ar. I'm not shooting more then two deer at a time 3 at most cause that's a lot of work to dress em out and load em in the truck. Not to mention processing them at home. But the .308 drops whitetails in their footprints
How do the animals not all scatter when you make a shot ? I shot a gun once and they all insanely run off in different directions and I don’t get time to shoot another animal. (On ps4)
