The NEW Avatar game is incredibly mid 

we played this game for 5+ hours so you don't have to. unless you want to, it's up to you.

Ubisoft's really good at making games that look amazing in videos. Like, I've played a bunch of their games, they always look great but I always get bored playing them, and yet when I see gameplay of this I still want to try it even knowing the feeling will be exactly the same. I feel like the whole company is basically carried by their art team.

I can’t express how much this game should’ve been third person

An unbelievable looking game, but the gameplay really needed to have higher priority. They made this HUGE map that looks so good, but I can’t be bothered to play it because the combat really gets old quick really the entire gameplay

This game was really only made for two types of people. Those who like Far Cry and those who like the movies. I myself, am a huge fan of the movies and think this game does an incredible job of replicating the vibe from them. I also had no expectations going into the game other than the fact that I want to run around as one of the Na'vi and fly on an Ikran. And that's exactly what i've been doing. For the past 38 hours. I'm just happy to be there, ya know? I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who simply wants to experience the world of Pandora or another Far Cry game. Either way it's a beautiful game to play with an interesting environment to explore but that's pretty much all it's got going for itself.

I just love that every single time there's even a hint in the game that you get to fight with your Na'Vi dudes, they write it so they always have to leave/stayback or some other dumb thing. They litterally gave the Na'Vi ZERO AI.

Fun fact for Later in the game, there’s a skill you can get where arrows won’t break on impact and you will be able to get them back, and it will show the arrows in the enemies haha which is pretty cool

"Mid" is far better than "dissapointing". Let's be real, we didn't know how this was gonna look or turn out. And I'm happy this was the product and that my blue guy gave zero shits when taking his first life, knowing full well humans are free thinking creatures with understandable speech and emotions.

Beauty is in the eye of beholder. Average game to many but to myself, and many other avatar fans it is absolutely amazing. I played for 6 hours yesterday and hardly did any quests just flying around the map and exploring and fighting random RDA. The combat could have had more depth, sure, melee finisher/animations, a slo mo aiming mode, etc would have been sweet to be sure. But this game is about as far as mid for me personally just because it is an incredibly immersive Pandora alone. Best straight up movie IP game I’ve ever played

I once had Gollum on my Christmas list, only to switch it out for the Avatar game after seeing enough videos of how unplayable it was (or still is); probably the wisest decision I've ever made. I imagine how funny it would be if a review for this game would say something like "At least it's not Gollum".

From a movie where the themes are 'I see you', don't judge a book by it's cover, see things from a different set of eyes, don't demonize another group, etc---sure has a lot gratuitous violence against humans...

3:31 I have already reached my breaking point with the “story” for this game. This is literally the opening for Far Cry 3. Just with blue catboys and catgirls instead of frat bros and sorority girls.

What I would want in an avatar game would be one where you can explore the different environments, get different mounts - like those black panther things would be better at traversing the forest than a dragon - and get a cute alien waifu and treehouse.

James Cameron is not only the Titanic guy. He is the Terminator and Aliens guy. So he is pretty amazing. The first avatar movie is awesome too. But the game is what you guys are saying. Unfortunatly is an ubisoft game. As a fan I wish some cool studio could have done it. But big franchises go after those crappy money maker studios for licesing games

I had no expectations for this one and watching the gameplay is STILL a letdown. Boring as Hell to watch for me. Having said that, your humor has really elevated this experience to be actually enjoyable.

I'm already on 45 plus hours in, I haven't finished the game yet been doing all the side missions the collectibles taking my time. So far I think the game is a masterpiece but everybody has their opinions. Working on platinum I look forward to the other Ubisoft games Star wars outlaws, skull and Bones, and assassin's Creed red.

I disagree. I’m loving the game personally. Some of the quest design is less than inspired but just exploring the world and finding the collectibles and destroying RDA installations is the funnest Ubisoft has been in years. What really makes a difference is the sheer lack of markers cluttering your screen, the map, everything. It’s very much exploration based and occasionally you’ll see a quest marker if you use Na’vi vision. It’s all a lot less intrusive than past Ubisoft games. And the fact you have to actually explore to find Na’vi Settlements, Resistance Camps etc. elevates it to me

It’s Avatar, plays like Far Cry, and is made by freaking Ubisoft. I’d be genuinely surprised if the game was MORE than mid.

20hrs so far, it’s actually decent however the story is way on the weaker side and it sucks to have to continue through it to be able to explore the rest of this amazing map

honestly, is a great game to enjoy. Visually stunning and a treat for people who enjoyed the movie. Missions are totally Crysis alike instead Far Cry. Totally recommended.

This game is great. Especially as an avatar fan. If youre a fan, the game is for you. As for far cry, i havent played them since the 2nd one. Barely. So the formula is not worn out for me.

I love this game, best game from unisoft in years. Hated the far cry games, havent enjoyed ac in many years. Everything in this game feels far more natural. Taking down rda sites story wise makes more sense than compounds in far cry. Traversing the world feels fast fun and fluid in a way ac hasnt been in years. Story is mid (the movies stories are mid too) but the world is beautiful, and the lore and customs are cool and interesting. Resource gathering is far more rewarding than in most games, making resources harder to find is and only needing a few is far better than needing to "collect 20" Also play on exploration mode, there is no beaten path so you are always off of it. In other games i always question why is my character just running into the woods.

MY PERSONAL REVIEW: SERIES X...AVOID THIS GAME! 1. FRAME RATE ISSUES: Terrible at times, it's all over the place. Why is frame rate always a problem in every single release??? What's so hard about optimizing it? 2. NO MANUAL SAVE: This is a game breaker for an ''open world'' RPG. Nothing is more frustrating than sneaking around for 20min inside an enemy base, just to be one shot and have no way to pick back up at a desired point. But instead lose all that progress. Manual saves should be MANDATORY in the games industry for open worlds. 3. CONSTANT HUNGER: Always having to scrounge for food is ridiculous! Never seen so much damn eating required in my life. Didn't know if I was playing Avatar, or an eating contest simulator! Stupid! 4. OVER THE TOP DIFFICULTY: I'm playing on the easiest possible setting and everything one shots me! If I'm not going up against enemies 2 levels below me, one shot...INSTANT death! This game is Dark Souls meets Far Cry. I had better luck on Elden Ring than with Avatar. 5. RETRY? WTF: They implemented an old school game feature from the 80's. When you die, you get the message ''retry''? Then you lose ALL PROGRESS and begin from scratch! Just like the old retro games. Didn't like it then, but I understood it was necessary since games had no saving in the 80's. But NOW? Totally unacceptable! I was sneaking around an enemy base for over 30min. Taking it slow, knocking off one at a time when I could. Only to accidentally miss one out the corner of my eye and he one shot me before I could react. Yep...lost over 30min worth of effort. I just shut the game down and put in a movie...I'M F** DONE! 6. WALKING IS TOO DAMN SLOOOOOW: Your character moves at such a slow speed, if you didn't know better you'd think you accidentally left the controller in crouch mode. But nope...that IS the walking speed!!! Unless you constantly run everywhere you feel as though you've been wounded and are crawling, barely clinging to life. The walking speed should be twice what is currently is. FINAL THOUGHTS: This game has more flaws than what I listed. For the sake of time I leave it at this. Should have been delayed 1-2 more years. I give a one for effort. MY SCORE: 1/10

I’m getting that game for Christmas I’m so excited to see the game if it’s good or not I loved Avatar the way of water I just love the ocean view and new characters it’s very interesting when I watched it at the theaters in 3D on IMAX.

I had no Wi-Fi and was playing it I got 75% of the way and then when I got Wi-Fi back months later it reloaded from where I first saved with Wi-Fi but it still says I completed all quests and can’t get my gear or weapons back whatsoever. Made me give up playing the game whatsoever

While the game is probably mid for alot of people, but it feels like a good game to just sit back and relax, just shoot things and explore :). But i'm not paying full price, i've played far cry 3 and 4 so i know what to expect, i wont pay over 40 bucks for this game unfortunately, 40 bucks is reasonable i think.

Honestly was kind of on board with the game up until the microtransactions bit. I've never seen any of the movies and barely played any Far Cry but I love the design of the environment and the fact you can play as a none human character. I wasn't expecting a master piece but perhaps it could have been a fun game. However the entire microtransactions in a single player game really killed my impression. If it goes on sale I might buy it cheap on sale one day but no way I am paying full price for a game with freenium pay to with in it.

I mean I love the game idk if it's because the only games I've ever played are rhythm games and have nothing to compare it to 😭 But for a first in an open world, combat and exploration game based around films I love I can't really go wrong with it it's great

I loved avatar when it first came out was blown away, but after I processed things and read reviews like critical drinker I realized it was all just really dumb and never bothered watching the next movie as it's more of the same.

As a native person I find this whole movie series and games cringe-worthy. I mean they're only retelling our ancestors History But they put on an alien planet and they made the people blue.

I ended up refunding mine pretty much the same night after i played it a bit. It's alright but just something about it dont justify the $70+ imo. Feels more like a $45-$50 game at best

I think the game was pretty good. If youre used to play Ubisoft's Far Crys. What I loved about this game is the environment, the big scale of exploring this alien planet, being 8ft tall, the scale play, and of cause the Ikran. What I didn't like about it was its very odd control scheeme. Like one button was for 3 different things for an instance. After playing a few hours of the game, it felt more and more empty. The level mechanic should not be such of a big deal. And the combat weren't too good with me due to the awful control scheme. What I wished the game could offer though: More side quests to help you level up more (basically just to fill in the emptyness) and not use small fuel stations as the only side quests after a while you get tired of it. I did wish they would not stick too much to a far cry formula and make something more original. Buuuut it is Ubisoft so what should we expect?

my sister absolutely adores the avatar movies, so i thought buying her the game would be a nice early christmas gift. she loves it and wont stop playing/talking abt it 😂 if you loved the movies and the culture surrounding the Na'vi, buy the game!!
