Thank you for the review. Being better than previous Captain Sim products is not a compliment in itself. Apart from the nice 3D model this seems to be still a sub-par product. The stall test was eye opening. For me this is freeware territory honestly.
I mean, for sure Delta Simulation set a high standard with their C-17! I appreciate the efforts Captain Sim is making but not at this price that's for sure. And one livery... 😏
@@specialopssoldier1 You are clearly devoid of synaptic response in your cerebrum. Has nothing to do with being broke. If you have money, you don't keep it by spending it on overpriced items. Between MSFS and some of the modules in DCS:World coming out at $70 one has to be cost conscious to NOT end up broke.
I was a flight engineer on C-130s, and I was disappointed by this because it is an early H-2 model on the outside with an APU. However, on the inside overhead panel, it has a GTC. This H-2 1982 model should have an APU. Also, the Low Speed Ground Idle Buttons do not work. When you start the engines, you start in LSGI and then bring the engines up to 100% and check your generator voltages.
As with all of captainscams last 2/3 products they are currently $15 products at maximum (before that $5 products) it is an outright insult to developers who put a lot of effort in to producing high quality products that warrant the $40 price. I think Microsoft should police people like captains and Breejoke who are ripping customers off. What’s the point of promoting that you moderate the marketplace then let scammers sell
Something interesting I noticed: the outside livery is (obviously) an American USAF plane, but at 2:25 the crash landing checklist says “CC130” which is the Canadian RCAF model designation for the C-130
Plane looks amazing, honestly. They should had bundle it with the previous release. But I have to respect their decision. Makes me want to fly it. But this review is perfect. You are basically a great salesman for them.
Well I need to make a new video to apologise because I realize I did something not properly regarding the flight model. But for me there's more cons than pros on this plane. Good looking isn't enough at 40$
8:47 sounds from the C208 I have also realized that captain sim isn't horrible but he isn't good. He needs to hire some more people ( if he even have any ) so that the planes he make will actually be worth it
Thanks for your video....as regards an excellent soundset there was an excellent product for FSX created by Turbine Sound Simulator....but I don't know why it isn't doing work for the new FS2020,this package is very realistic like his works done for FSX and P3D for other civil and military aircraft,a collaboration between Captainsim and Turbine Sound Simulation would be interesting for a version of this soundset for FS2020, certainly this product would make a big leap forward in terms of its quality !!
come on 40 dollars isnt a premium category , its ok, we cant keep complaining, 40 bucks is a fair price for a plane like this, looks great and the physics arent bad at all
What about sounds.... also the cockpit ones are default 😢, I'm not sure, but I think they are the Hercules ones :( anyway thanks for your videos, useful as always ❤❤❤
Excellent review. Love the way you break things down into sections! Really helps with my decision to buy it or not. Isn’t a c-130 going to be a free plane in MSFS 2024?
overstress logic was broken in fsx/p3d and still broken in msfs... aircraft not disappear at certain speed/g... it's take some damage like stuck aileron, lost left or right elevator, lost list of fus. any thing. that don't blow you up in the nihil. it's not good to use it and not good to model it. that shit happens slow step by step some time you can recover situation and land after all some time if damage too much - no... but for broke something for good you need to do be really really insistent or unconscious with elevator trim too much down:) why they still do that... i mean asobo and 3rd party guys. however we can disable this nonsense in the options:)
Thanks for the review. Unless you really want the 130 in MFS, there is a free 130 in DCS that in all fairness is not as grapically impressive, however it is actually free, and you can load actual cargo, open ramps mid flight and even drop paratroopers, for the price of free. (But rather buy the devs a coffee for their work)
The visuals are great, I could even overlook the non exterior model from cockpit view....but the default sounds are an absolute dealbreaker. Then you factor-in the high cost? It's a huge NO in this state for me.
I have supported cs for a long time especially in fax and p3d, however I can not continue to do that based on the lack of comprehension and understanding of what the Flightsim community want. Whilst cs modelling and texturing has always been very high standard, it is extremely lacking in so many other areas. For me this release is no better than the cheap rubbish put out by other modellers. For all developers, if you want the decent dollars, than put in the effort and work for it. The flight simulation community is happy to part with money, but for decent products. Stop trying to screw money out of people for shit products. Kind of tired of it and it is not only damaging to your brand but also the flight simulation community as a whole. Better standards and benchmarks need to be achieved. Realistic modelings, textures, visual cues, animations, audio, and flight dynamics as well as effects are all the elements that go into making a quality product and so far many devs have fallen way short of this , just chasing dollars for half assed effort. Many developers need to lift there game as this level of offering is unexceptable.
The reason that you cannot enter cargo hold from the cokcpit view relates to performance. The cargo itselft looks pretty detailed, and that amount of polygons plus high detail in cockpit would result in poor performance on lower end systems
Stop looking for excuses. How did they do it in the C160? A highly detailed cockpit with animations, custom EFB, complete systems, accurate custom sounds, payload management, payload drop animations, highly detailed cargo bay. The cargo bay IS what defines this aircraft: "The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is an American four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft" So what's the point of selling a 40$ if you don't do the only thing the plane was built for?
@@CaptainKenobi I am not looking for excuses, just giving you explanation for why. Depending on the 3d modeler approach, they might have hit a poly count limit and performance was suffering (according to documentation, safe polycount for large aircraft is 500k triangles). Pmdg for example, the cabin looks blunt in comparison.
Could it be that the cargo area is not seen in the interior view because performance is a priority? Or not showing the cargo area would allow for more detail in the cockpit interior.
@@CaptainKenobiMight get it on market place as I plan on getting a series X this year I got a pc it’s getting old pc standards though. I can get a console but I can not get a newer pc in this economy.
Not being able to see the cargo area from the cockpit is not a huge issue. You can't see it from the cockpit in real life either unless you get out of the seat and walk back there. That said, I already don't look at the cabins of airliners so not having the cargo area in view isn't a huge issue.
I sat in that cargo hold a lot. In the paratrooper doors in Afghanistan and also crew during missions. I definitely used that crew bunk up in the flight deck.
REALLY appreciate the review! Based on what you shared, I agree that it's priced a bit too high. CS could pull through on this if they keep updating it and adding a few more features. I think I'll stick with the Azure Poly Transall for now. Will see what the future brings for this one - it either needs to get better or cheaper. I would vote for Better :)
Not all the planes are 100% finished when offered in a Store. With my purchase i Give captnsim the possibility to develop further more. so i am waiting
@@CaptainKenobi i know i own it ahaha, but the c-130 is such a well known plane and would make them so much money. and they would make such a good plane
@@CaptainKenobi iv been flying the Moose for over 100 hours, that's pretty much all I fly, and after few hours with the Herc is very hands on and they have done a really good job.
Beautiful design and quality speaking, but yes, the sounds suck so bad, very unfortunate as the sound of the Hercules irl is so god damn awesome and I must say, the flight model? it's a very easy aircraft to fly, I find the c-160 more challenging/aka/fun, though it's over all very nice, but also, very expensive, but I don't regret the purchase
So it's the same plane i already own by him but rebuilt an yet i got to pay to buy the same plane i already have which is the C130E smh makes no sense it should be free to the people who already own the first C130 of his.
I believe it is important to the genre that we stop calling it a game and call it what it is meant to be ... a simulator. If we persists in calling it a game then that is the way this program will continue to go. For the good of us all let's drop 'game' from our vocabulary when it comes to MSFS2020 ... in doing that developers might lift their game and give us what we need, instead of what "will do because it's only a game". It falls to us to push up, and not allow some developers to push down. We must also continue to impress upon Asobo and Microsoft that true simmers are not gamers (something I really don't think they fully understand).
I’ve been flying these as a Flight Engineer for almost 8 years now. That’s my overhead panel albeit this is an E model and we have H models, lots of differences and I never flew an E model, I’m too young for that. I’m a little disappointed that it isn’t fully modeled and functional. Even the OG version for FSX was functional. The big disappointments for me was engine startup was completely wrong and that the low speed ground idle (LSGI) sound also wasn’t modeled. I will report my findings in a later comment.
First issue I see off the bat is that the overhead panel features GTC or gas turbine compressor controls when the external model features an APU, or auxiliary power unit. Edit: Oh yeah this isn’t even as complete as the original. Still cool to look at I guess but there’s almost no system functionality anymore. Half the switches on the overhead panel are non functional and the engine start is even more incorrect than the first… lol the engine start sequence is 3,4,2,1, not 1,2,3,4 and you hold the starter switch until 60% rpm it’s not a press to start. Oh well, I hope they correct this. Also fuel pressure indicator doesn’t work nor does the bleed air manifold pressure indicator to the right on the wall.
The model is actually very nice and flies well, the stock King Air sounds are obviously way off. However, the legacy FSX/P3D TSS C-130/T56 sound pack works great and is an easy install using the JSON converter. With those sounds, it is dead on!
Knowing that they gave us a shell C-130, you would think at least some consideration for those of us that spent the 20. Sure we knew what we were getting but come, this is like kissing your sister, so please cpt sim, this has some faults also but please cut us some slack. 🪖🇺🇸👍🙏🏼😳
The sounds are way off.. a C130 does not sound like that. Just give it to Miltech!! They’ll get you real accurate shit! Look at there CH47! It’s 100% accurate and it’s study level!
In the cockpit, you go to the right, as far as possible. Select copilot view. The camera will go outside the plane. Save the view. Go back in the cockpit by pressing reset view. Then load your saved view and now you can move around and save more views, like windows views (when the plane got some ^^)
It's a great aircraft to have in SIM, but not this one and not for that money. One livery, no missions, no access to cargo area and way too quiet. Hercs fly over my house fairly regularly, they are loud. The Miltech CH47 and the Azurpoly C160 have set the bar for military transport aircraft. They are a truly awesome add on, especially the Chinook. Bases, missions, liveries, awesome sounds, great level of interaction with systems etc. That's what we want. With updates and a less cheeky price this could be there. It's closer, but still a ways off.
J'ai vu sur ta vidéo 🤷 Honnêtement je sais pas. Je vais essayer avec full flaps comme tu as fait voir s'il y a une différence, je ne vois pas pourquoi mais on sait jamais.
