agreed.. the VERY least offer 4K60p. And it would have been a nice overall update. Yes the LCD on the XA50 was just horrible. Im glad they made it a lot better on this model. But.. the 4K60p woulda been the icing.

@@JLBA14 yes, but they dropped the remote and the battery Life is 10% less according to the Manual. I guess because of the bigger Screen

10 bit is the exclusive domain of broadcast (for the most part) and the mfr's want $4,000 to $8,000 for each platform flying out the retailer's door. Get used to it; these platforms cost $20k to $100k 5, 10, 15 years ago. Sure there might be one (Panasonic) then get 'dat one!

I'm hoping there is a new 400 level camera coming. The XF 600 series is beyond what I need.

so is the XF400 a better "deal"? it had some short comings? the XF605 is too much $$ for me. Besides this XA75 not having 4k 60p, what am I missing? Thanks

I'm a little surprised Canon did not respond to this question. The whole point of sending audio back to the camera immediately is to pair and sync it with video. If the camera can't send paired video and audio through USB from the camera to the computer for livestreaming, it's a huge fail.

@@spelunkerd I cannot understand the engineering explanation for this missing and essential function. I hope it’s not some ridiculous reason such as an import tax. I remember reading that some camcorders will not record a continuous single-file video clip beyond 30 minutes, otherwise it qualifies under an upgraded professional category for import taxes. Either way, Canon needs to correct this issue. This camera is excellent for portable and mobile ENG work. In 2023, full function streaming should be standard (or at least available on an upgraded version) on a camcorder like this.

Just curious. Is that something that can be done with a firmware update or is that strictly only possible with hardware?

@@summerofsam99 of course it can be added in firmware update. But the secret is that Canon always cripple their prosumer models so if you want a little better you have to go for their PRO models like xf605. Those are bussines decisions for better profit which I understand

Hi! The XA75 and XA70 are fixed-lens cameras, but you can attach the Tele-Converter TL-H58 or the Wide Attachment WA-H58 for longer or wider fields of view 👍

get used to it; this product category is a dying segment; be happy with what you get and buy all the xtras. The 4k smart phone is the death knell for lots of camcorders. In a few years, there might not be any, xcept broadcast platforms.

@@gurugamer8632 so where are the phantom power XLR inputs? I rigged a mirrorless camera up for TV work once. It looked ridiculous because it was more complex than any other rig I saw before. You couldn’t run with it or throw yourself on the ground. For TV, there is no script. Anything can happen.

@@annonymat I use zoom h6 or Sound Devices MixPre-6 II gh6 has 10 bit recording and bigger sensor
