Hello and welcome back to Train Simulator Classic!
Tonight we're going to be taking a drive of the brand new Class 745 "FLIRT", one of the new Stadler sets currently in operation with Greater Anglia. These sets were introduced in 2019 onwards, and saw the demise of the Class 90 and MK3 sets which operated up and down the line for many years. Now thanks to good people at Alan Thomson Sim, we have this unit available for modern day operations on this line!
We're going to be driving the two scenarios which come included. Starting in Ipswich, we're operating an express service down towards London Liverpool Street, then the return leg of the route late at night. We'll be taking a look at this units many features, and whether it is worth that premium price tag of £37.99 (or £29.99 for subscribed members to Alan Thomson Sim).

Hi Joe, I know you're not much of an announcement fan, but on the Flirt you have to run with the ATS FLIRT plugin (not ATS plugin) to get announcements and ASDO

£37.99 !!!!! I'm sorry but that's an insane price. Considering Alan's an all out workers/left wing guy, he's pricing everyone other than the affluent out of the hobby with this one. That is just too much cash and as good as the train is, it doesn't offer anythign staggeringly new or out of the box, for that price.

I use these trains almost daily the sounds are spot on and the route looks brilliant they are such a comfortable train too and yes there is the /0 and /1 which as you said determine if they have first class, the first class ones mainly do the intercity route the other does the airport service

TSW is arcade game garbage. Pop ups telling you you've won some points for turning the headlight on, and collecting posters. It's a game! TSC is a hobby simulator.

TSC is still a game. I agree with what youre saying, but making your game more user (casual) friendly isnt a negative.@flightimmersion

Are these new train just electric or are they diesel as well because i saw a class 745 at Great yarmouth station when i went there in April this year

I do like them, but If the 745s had the 2 bogie per carriage arrangement theyd be perfect. Also if the front ends were more flat id like them a little more

Price might have been better if it included the diesel 755 version as well.. its alot of money for a train that may or may not appear in your game. Have found that ATS stuff is very hit and miss weather it works or not. Download the new anglia route the installer say its installed but not in the game ( yes I have the required stuff) found this with alot of his stuff. . The less said about the crap class 91 pack that just crashes the game. .

Personally I've not had a lot of negative experiences with ATS stuff (apart from the fact you can generally have space between the train and platforms to hold a medium sized car boot sale). It's a good unit, with great visuals and fantastic in depth systems, but I can completely understand how the price would shake some people to the core.

Absolutely right about the diesels. Like the AP Class 800 pack that came with them all; 800-803 with diesels and Bi-mode. To get just the 745 for £37.99 is bonkers. I think Alan's lost his way here to be honest. This hobby shouldn't be just for those with endless disposable income. What about enthusiast kids on pocket money? £37.99 ... sheesh!

The amount of issues with the installer is annoying. I bought the RES pack a few weeks back and the installer sat at 100% for about 10 minutes then crashed. It done the same with the MK5s too, had to reinstall it and when I did half my routes were missing. I stupidly bought the HST cab EP a few weeks back too and it’s just buggy as hell.

@@droge192 the class 800 pack didnt requre building the entire 3d model from scratch. The 800 ep is essentially a physics, sound and livery tweak and not a full blown new model, new physics, new sounds etc etc. There is a vast difference in costs to do this. Therefor the higher price. So its not a fair comparrison at all.
