In today’s video we offer a spoiler free unboxing of the repackaged Dunwich Legacy Campaign Expansion. Music is by Matthew Huffaker (technoaxe) of www.teknoaxe.com, and is used under CC (Creative Commons) 4.0 license.
Which investigators from the core set would be best to play these scenario’s with? What sort of changes should I make to the standard core set investigators for this scenario?
The ones you had most fun playing with. There are 8 scenarios and they are really different so you can’t just build one deck that will ace all of them. Pick a deck that you enjoyed in the core box. Make sure you can gather clues and deal with enemies. Then upgrade your deck on the way. Have fun.
I can't understand what the sentence "if you don't sleeve your cards" mean... must be some spell from the ancient ones, hope the narrator is still fine after that.
Good video. I like your style. Thanks for the heads up on The Dunwich Horror. I enjoyed listening ti io it on Horrorbabble and will check out the other stories.
It's been made clear that these new campaign+investigators combos do not include the contents from the relevant 'Return to...' boxes, which still have to be bought separately if one wants to add them to the cycle experience. What I am not sure about is if the art & style of the 'Return to...' boxes are 100% compatible with the art & style of the new combos... In other words, do the old 'Return to...' boxes include cards identical in meaning but different in style from the new combos? Sorry, English is not my first language, so hopefully my question makes sense :)
A good question. The font size has for the titles has been made slightly larger on the new cards. So you may be able to tell which are return to cards like locations if you look closely.
Could you clarify what you mean about a paragraph that needs to be added to the campaign guide at about 6:03? I don't really know what you mean and I don't want to spoil myself. Would I be okay just playing the campaign according to the guide or am I missing vital information?
You will be totally fine. Play and enjoy! But when you are ready download the official FAQ from the FFG website. It will help clear up a number of things. images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/16/73/16736473-35f6-42e7-ac32-60811326865f/ahc_faq_v19_1.pdf
@@ArkhamChronicle Thanks so much! I'm loving and appreciating all your content. Just played the Devourer Below for the first time and died horribly! This game is completely cool
Is the first play through better with Core or Return To? I (we) heard there are issues in this campaign that Return To fixes, and I am tempted to play a better/fixed version of it first, but asking if it is best to start that way or if it is better to play the "broken" Core set and then the fixed Return after knowing the campaign.
Forget about the “Return to…” products. These should be the last thing you buy after you have all the campaigns and all the standalones and all the investigator packs.
@@ArkhamChronicle Would argue against that. For a first playthrough, probably not. The player cards that contain are sometimes worth it. Wish they came with an additional investigator or something.
1:27 Can you explain please. For example, I completed the compaign from the base box and now I plan to start te Dunwich compaign. Do I need to zero down my investigator or I can continue as it is? Is it a recommendation to start from 0 or a rule? I dont understand. Thank you in advance
Sooo I want to know, are the cards in the campaign and investigator sets exact copies of the originals? Did they revise the art a bit like the core set did?
I recently bought the new Dunwich legacy format Campaign box, which misses the investigators and player cards. If i get the old Deluxe expansion, will i be getting all the missing cards? Its cheaper than the new Investigators Format.
If you want a fun audio version of this story, the better choice is from Atlanta Radio Theater Company (ARTC). Check it out. I prefer it to the Dark Radio version.
0:27 Still confused about the different boxes. I found the Dunwich Legacy Expansion (the one from the timecode). What else do I need to play that. Or is that fine on its own?
If you have a core box you can start the campaign with the Dunwich Legacy Deluxe Expansion you highlighted. But in order to get the rest of the content from that cycle you will need the six additional Mythos packs. Here is a handy video explaining that release model. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-31acr1OUkTg.html
@@ArkhamChronicle Thank you for this. But this is for the old sets right? Now there are revised sets. like at the 1:00 mark. If I can play that campaign box with the investigators from the core box, why is there a new investigators box then? It's confusing. You don't need them, but the box IS connected to the campaign by title.
Just to clarify… i bought the campaign expansion, but i also bought each mythos pack from this cicle, thinking they were something else… so, everything (besides investigators) is included in the campaign expansion and i should return the rest?
If you bought this expansion box, then you don't need all the mythos packs unless you want the investigator cards for the investigators you don't have, lol. Where did you find all the mythos packs? They're out of print and hard to find.
This is probably a stupid question but are you allowed to mix the dunwich legacy cards with the night of the Zealot and when I mean mix mean the encounter cards. 😊😊
As a Arkham Horror newb, I don't really understand. The original Dunwich Legacy has 156 cars + 5 mini. This one has 307 cards, but it's a split up version from the original. What am I missing?
The original deluxe expansions only contain the first couple of scenarios, and then you had to buy 6 more separate packs, adding additional cards. But if you pile all of those together, some are investigator cards and some are campaign & monster cards. The new Dunwich Legacy is 2 big boxes, with investigator cards in 1 box and campaign cards in the other. So apparently if you took the original deluxe expansion, plus all the scenario packs, removed the investigator cards, you'd end up with 307 cards for Dunwich.
Don’t forget to include the 360 cards in the six Mythos packs. The original Dunwich Cycle had 516 cards in it spread over seven products. The repackaged Dunwich Cycle has 516 cards in it spread over two products. This video will help you understand how the original cycle release model worked. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-31acr1OUkTg.html
ur arkham vids are my favorite and i lol'd more than once during ur review of the SANDwich legacy (i'm gonna get u to say it. say it!) i'm in the usa. what is ur accent? i love it.
Not quite sure where the accent is from, me and a few that watched this here tried to figure it out too. I am from US (Florida) so my English accent ear is not great (unless obvious like NewCastle or Liverpool) but this one I have had others born and raised in UK try to guess with mixed results. Yorkshire, Westlands, maybe even Midlands. but it sounds like it might be put on, so it is hard to pin point. If we had to guess (4 votes out of 11) says, Yorkshire (Scarborough) area.
The Investigators (and player cards) are in the Investigator Expansion. The Campaign is in the Campaign Expansion. Check out our Investigator Expansion unboxing here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0iXC6C6O3ek.html
@@ArkhamChronicle I saw a post, one is Dunedin legacy, the other is legacy campaign expansion. If I understand correctly the legacy campaign expansion includes everything? Including the characters?
So it can hold four player decks with upgrade cards, some side scenarios, the chaos bag and all the tokens you need to play. That way you only need to carry one box when you go and play at your friend’s house, your local store, a convention or anywhere else.
@@ArkhamChronicle Hi there, thanks for the answer, i bought the campaing expansions with the 8 scenarios and there is one extra mythos pack. Do you know when this mythos are used?.
@@ArkhamChronicle at 5:39 the one with the card visions of future past, when do you use those cards?. How is the setup?. Sorry the stupid question this is my first time playing an expansion
@@user-lg3lg2sc3f Have you played the campaign that comes in the core box? All campaigns are basically the same. Visions of Futures Past is an encounter card. It goes in the encounter deck. In the mythos phase each player draws from the encounter deck. Here is our video on the Round Sequence of the game ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v5hrlmxSfLg.html When you set up your scenario it will tell you which encounter sets you need. Visions of Futures Past is from the Sorcery encounter set and includes 6 cards. 3 copies of Visions of Futures Past and 3 copies of Beyond the Veil. So when a scenario tells you to add the Sorcery encounter set you add those six cards to the encounter deck during setup. When you played the core box campaign you would have seen encounter sets like Ancient Evils, Locked Doors, Striking Fear, Ghouls and so on. Here is our setup video for one of the first Dunwich scenarios. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1q8NDSE5WXg.html We have setup videos for all the Dunwich scenarios to help you.
@@gordonsloan4332 Don't be afraid to replay the content you already have with different investigators and different decks. Only buy more stuff when your budget allows.
Surely, the empty box space should be used to store stale, fetid air, or at least the soul of a tortured cultist. Otherwise, it’s not very thematic. I think there may even be room in there for both.
Funny and informative, an excellent combo. I have no idea to get started in this game, I played the 3-part campaign in the main box and found it a bit dull, also the options for expanding your decks seemed a tad limited. Do you have a video I should be looking at? Overall, this seems a VERY expensive one-use game...am I right or a complete twat?
Maybe this isn’t the game for you. The core box is a tutorial. Replay the campaign with the other investigators. If you aren’t having fun and wanting to play again then definitely save yourself some money!
A minor correction, but for those that want to be 100% sure of what they're buying, the FFG product numbers are the other way around. The expansion is AHC66 and the investigator box is AHC65. Also the new box subtitle says 'Campaign Expansion', the old one just says 'Expansion'. I don't mean to shit on your video, I found your information very helpful as someone who's only now looking to get into this and is very overwhelmed by all the packs. Thankyou for clearing up where I should be throwing money.
Hey friend! Thanks for the helpful feedback. Well done on spotting the mixed up catalogue numbers. We will have a chat and see how we can best correct this. Much appreciated.
3:45. I'm of a mixed mind on this. On the one hand, I appreciate that the new format has allowed them to get more inventive with the campaign structure and can do wildly different things from campaign to campaign, but holy shit have they gotten long winded.
What sort of savages don’t sleeve their cards.. …I even sleeve the dividers from the Return to… ..pretty much the only time I read is some board game/tabletop related thing.. and international shows/films.. 😅
