Hi mate. Been 'following' you for a while, not literally coz I'm in th UK. I too read up for ages (but I'm talking weeks, maybe months) worrying about installing a catch can in my stock 2002 325ci with 110,000 miles on. My issue was oil consumption tho. Although it hasn't solved my oil consumption problem (I've only put about 500 miles on since the catch can install and i believe it improves with mileage), it has completely changed how the car drives power wise. I've owned it for around 5 years and i always knew it wasn't driving as it should. I even had my BMW indy say there was nothing wrong with it. Anyway, they fitted it for me and like yours, the vacuum is super strong but by god does it pull better, feels better and just drives better. Reason being I'm getting better combustion now due to no oil vapours entering the intake and combustion chamber. The increased vacuum also helps the engine works easier. Mine is routed exactly the same as yours will be. Although my can was a Mishimoto and cost over £120. You should see the amount of crap it collects, but I'd rather empty the can than have it going in my intake. Good luck bro, you won't regret it. Keep it up!

Good thing with the ThrottleHouse name change. As usual. You make owning an E46 worthwhile. Please build a street savvy car. So we that don’t have Tracks to take our cars to, can still follow your build and do similar modifications on our E46s.

It's a high revver and will give you that edge over the competition. I like it when you get yer hands dirty! I've barked my knuckles more times than I care to remember, it just means that you're willing to put in some time and sweat to get it to the point where you can take some credit for the outcome! Hey man. Nice vid. Is it possible to give the links of the stuff you bought for the ccv delete? I want to do it on my 330ci as changing the ccv is a PITA job. Can you give exact dimensions of parts and what you needed to do? What are the dangers of catch-can instead of ccv?

A question for you T.H. , how were you sure it was the CCV before taking off the intake and not leaking valve stem seals for example? Was the CCV failed when you took it off after all?

Ihabe instal catchcan but after 10 000 miles i dont know why lean code came back and it came from bad valve cover gasket also it was new have a lot vacuum in system but still lean code and eml light on when i blocked intake vacuum line code are gone what ia wrong catch is mishi moto everything is good with that catch can i change the vve cover gasket but the came back after another 10 000 miles and know i willinstal only tank breather will stop all vaccum line

i just connected the hoses from the holes on top of the intake manifold .-. vacuum codes went away lol and i have a filter on the vanos hose crank thing lol

I replaced my CCV and it wasn't that hard. Granted, my hands are tiny. I know 50s kid have a video on this and it looked too troublesome to find right size o rings for the complete seal...etc But whatever works man. I cannot wait to see how you are going to cage your car!

I worry about how negative the crankcase pressure is with this set up in place. Is that something I should worry about? I'm running it right now and something weird is happening. When the car is warmed up the oil level goes down DRAMATICALLY. When it cools down it goes back to normal. Should I be worried?

There's 2 or 3 nipples at the rear behind the disa valve area between the firewall. I had a split factory vacum cap that was the cause of my random misfires.

I suggest changing Spark plugs for 1electrode iridium (denso or ngk). I have denso ik20 with 1.1mm gap in my m54b25. Such a improvement over 4electrode ngk (especially in low rpm).

U recomend delete ccv?

why don't you just run a hose from the valve cover right under the car and block the 6 holes in the intake manifold with some blanking caps...

Great vid. My 2000 black coupe was misfiring as well a couple weeks back. Replaced the coil and it solved misfire but I think my spark plugs are ancient and needing to be replaced. Quick question, since you mentioned the air intake, what would be the best way to install an aftermarket one(ex. Short ram, cold air diy)? How much of a difference would it be compared to stock? I’m looking to installing one 👍🏼

Do you have any CEL? I had my system running too lean code on my 325i that was causing misfires and it eventually ALMOST wouldn't start, and a lot of the time it's cause of a vacuum leak. It's good that you're replacing the fuel pump though because that's what actually was the problem with mine, and they tend to be a common issue as well. Luckily it's under the seat so you don't have to be dropping out the fuel tank.
