I test out the new Hornady 100gr ELD-VT ammunition in 6.5 Creedmoor through my Seekins Element. I check velocity, accuracy and expansion in ballistic gel.

It looks like the bullet performs as advertised. That’s pretty exciting stuff. Thanks for the video!

I have them in rout in 6mm Creed, 6.5 Creed & 6 ARC. Then I was able to snag just projectiles of the 62g 223 for reloading. Another great video keep it up.

I guess RU-vid didn't like my comment but a few weeks back I tool a deer with this but in the Grendel offering. At the Grendel speeds, it did very well and even passed through it.

These would definitely be a game changer for the Grendel

Wound cavity looks good, I'm curious how far out we could expect this performance.

It would be interesting to test, I'd want to make a bit bigger blocks to make it easier for me to hit

Show me what it does to a groundhog, Or a coyote at three hundred yards. Just saying proofers in the pudding. Three thousand is a little slow for a hundred grain bullet.. About 33 is where you need them 100 grainers to fly or the B. C doesn't mean anything.

Did you even LOOK at the gel block test? That bullet will destroy a groundhog.

3 shot groups at 100, definitely don't constitute sub moa for the gun or ammo... It's not bad shooting, definitely a good place to start, but I'd want to test a few 5 and 10 shotters over time to get a better picture. I've shot 5, M855 5.56mm, into less than 0.25 MOA at 100, on more than one occasion, but I've got enough sense to know that the ammo and gun are not 0.25 MOA.

This ultra light weight barrel won't really do 5 + round groups, it gets hot fast. Mountain rifles just aren't made for that type of shooting.
@joearledge1
@joearledge1 8 месяцев назад
@@thelonggunner762 yeah, not saying mag dump, I just prefer more testing before I come to definitive conclusions. Either way, it's mostly semantics, 1/2 or 1.5 moa are both good enough for practical hunting ar reasonable ranges

I absolutely do not want to see more than a 3 shot group out of a pencil barrel rifle. You’ll learn over time how consistent it is with many 3 shot groups. Don’t burn your barrel up for the sake of statistical significance. What a joke.
@joearledge1
@joearledge1 8 месяцев назад
@@phild9813 3 shots isn't significant. It doesn't matter how thin the barrel is, you can absolutely fire a shot, wait 2 minutes, and repeat x 5 or 10. There's no barrel that is safe to shoot that will burn out by slow firing 5 to 10 shots. That barrel in the video isn't thick, but there are a lot thinner ones out there. One day when you grow up and learn about statistics and physics and start shooting real guns, it'll all make sense to you.
@davidmartin7479
@davidmartin7479 7 месяцев назад
Mountain weight hunting rifles aren't designed to be target rifle platforms. Statistics? Lol. Negative on that. Who gives a rats ass about statistics. Rarely would we have hunting scenarios where we have 3 or more shots possible. That's reality. Also, considering the libtard bidenomics inflated ammo costs these days, not many smart folks want to spend that amount of time, money, effort, and replacement barrels for some irrelevant statistical values. Nope. Get a life.
