F zone makes no claims on how fast their filters will run. They just give you a pump that claims it will do 800 gallons an hour but I will test that out and let everybody know.

Actually I really can't tell you only because it changes from state to state and country to country of what's available of bake kitty litter. You just have to do your own research where you live and try to find the fake kitty litter and not the softer kitty litter that Walmart sells.

From what I am getting feedback on most of the canister filters out there have some little quirks and problems to them. None of them are perfect so it's just a crapshoot. The only advice I can give you is find one that's within your budget and run with it.

I think once a while I do give updates of the filter and so far so good. No noise, trouble free filtration. It's made like a tank, so you never have to worry about plastic parts ever breaking on it. I would highly recommend it over the plastic filters, even though it is what most would call an old time looking filter.

You have to be careful about any stray electricity and the aquarium even at small amounts. It was shown to cause lateral line disease in fish through irritation of the DC current.

I always thought that the original pumps for the FZone were not designed correctly which I'm right about that. But the newer pumps are better and I have had no problems with them.

I would think it would be more than adequate. If you're running that big FX6 canister filter. How do you like that canister filter? Somebody told me shortly after they bought it one of the clamps that tighten the lid down broke on them.

@@anoxicfiltrationplenums I can’t imagine being without it! Having a drainage valve is huge. Also the quality is great. I have been running mine since 2009.

Someway somehow air is getting into the system like I explained in my video about the oxygen bubbles getting into the system and then the impeller causes cavitation of the air bubbles because it can't expel them very easily. However, I did a modification to that pump and now when the air gets in the pump head now it expels them immediately out of the canister. Once the sun goes down and the algae stops photosynthesizing and creating air/oxygen bubbles then of course the bubbles that are being expelled out of the canister ceased to exists. The F zone filter in the lanai does not have that problem at all and it's been running smoothly for over a year.

Hi -check your filter/pump hose connections as there could be a very small air gap that only starts sucking in air when the pump speed increases.
