Really great demo of a very intriguing design. I'm in the market for a Tele but, as a strat owner, is this giving me that much that is tonally different than what I already have? I do like the sound of all pickups engaged I must admit but part of me wonders whether I should just mod my strat.
@jadonx
@jadonx 2 года назад
with having a strat I'm very tempted by the 2 pick up model with the extra series drive, Does this still have the classic twang with noiseless pick ups? just itching to get the cosmic jade version.

Interesting - the ‘knob pull’ seems to give it a more humbucker-ey tone, which could be useful. Though ‘normal mode’ seemed to lose a bit of that classic Tele twang on the bridge pup.

This is the most thorough and nuanced explanation I've seen of this guitar. I really appreciate you playing simple things back-to-back to make comparison easier.

Stupid question - there’s nothing special/incompatible with those noiseless pickups right? As in I can swap them out like any other tele pickup? I ask because when I played a player plus strat in a store I was pretty disappointed in the noisless single coils, and it sounds like the bridge pickup has the same problem here. I really like all the other ‘modern’ takes on the tele though, so was thinking of getting one of these and swapping out the pickups for some Texas Special’s. It pushes the price up of course, but seems like a worthwhile upgrade?

I love my Nashville tele. It is very versatile with positions 2 and 4. I use them very extensively for clean sounds when I want to take some of the harshness of the top end off without it really having to be quite as chunky as the regular middle position on a normal telecaster. (Though the push pull pot in position one does sound pretty much just like you’d expect any normal tele to sound when combining the bridge and neck pickups.) It doesn’t really sound exactly like a strat (it is a real telecaster and has all of the characteristics of one), but it certainly has some strat-like qualities when you start combining pickups like this. Positions 2 and 4 have that kind of sound, albeit in a more telecaster-twangy way. The middle pickup, on its own, also sounds very strat like (not quite exactly like a real strat, but very, very close. Could certainly pass as one convincingly to most ears.)

Vinie bro, really great explanation and playing. PLease a short Question. Nashville (SSS) has 7 pickups configurations (5 normal + 2 push pull) right? and Plus (SS) has 4 pickups configurations (3 normal + 1 push pull series) right? Thanks so much!

I want teles as they are, their configurations are nice from the start. so I would only buy a guitar from player plus if they made a Jaguar with an interesting electronice configuration

Good video, thanks. Love the Nashville, although I prefer the maple neck version to pao ferro. Do Guitarguitar do a setup on guitars sold or just a basic QC check?

As someone who just plays and doesn't really care about where it's made... this is a really good value prop compared to the rest of the range But at the same time you pay so much to have Fender/ Gibson put on the logo head.

That's a great outlook Jason. These sound great, they feel great and they look great. What else could you want from a guitar? If we're being honest we'd say these are a steal in terms of price for the feature set, whatever the headstock says! Thanks for watching!

Your explanation about all the small details was great. Even down to the fact that the push/pull works and has the same effect in all positions. Also, can you please advise if the bridge and neck only (using the push/pull) on the Nashville sounds the same as the middle position on the standard? Thanks
@tendingtropic7778

does the nasvhille sound the same as the SS when in bridge / neck mode?

I think no, in this case in parallel instead of series
@boogie69747

I have 2 questions 1. SS Neck+Bridge Position /w Pull Tone = SSS Bridge Position /w Pull Tone. Am I right? Serial mode for both neck and bridge PU 2. SSS cannot get sound of SS middle position no Pull Tone. Am I right? SS only can get Parallel mode for both neck and bridge PU
@guitarguitaruk
@guitarguitaruk 2 года назад
Hey! You're half right. The push/pull on the Nashville and SSS Strats will always work as a parallel circuit. Bringing the Neck Pickup in on Position 1 will act like the SS Tele's Middle Position. Only the SS Tele has the series switch however you'll probably find the 2nd position on the Nashville with the advanced switching engaged will have a somewhat similar 'beefy' tone. Hope this helps!
@boogie69747
@boogie69747 2 года назад
@@guitarguitaruk Thank you for your answer. It helps a lot. PU configuration made me a question that do I have to choose between vintage sound or modern sound? SS or SSS? If the tones are like your mention, I will go for Nashville. More tones, butterscotch color, and maple fingerboard.

This has the maple fretboard, but it does look quite dark. The Nashville telecaster is the one without the maple neck

I don't know why but I don't think these noiseless pickups sound that great. They're really clear but they don't have the same mid punch I look for in a Tele. The highs are kind of ice picky to me.

The pushpull is horrible on a Stratocaster!!! If you have clammy hands you are gona struggle to Push it up because you will Lose grip trying to push it up but the telecaster pushpull works fine !!
