dvalin is not a vishap tho, he was born an elemental dragon. he basically skip the normal dragon evolution path. azhdaha for example used to be a geovishap before becoming a geo dragon. same as hydro dragon, who is supposed to be the evolution of bathysmal vishap until enkanomiyans screw it up, so any future hydro dragons will be born as human.
@@someoneinasiait is confirmed to be a vishap at this point. I think in v3.1 Livestream, at the end hoyo showed an animation where lumine narrates the traveller's journey and enjou calls dvalin a vishap. You can look it up
@@lynx2244 yeah i look at dvalin wiki. he is not a vishap, nor he ever was. it was clearly stated he was born an elemental dragon in high heaven. fyi that letter short animation is not canon, it's clearly made for entertainment. the animation include journeys which lumine should have no knowledge of. like inside makoto's realm of consciousness.
@@someoneinasia nah I think the animation was correct. She describes everything that happened correctly canonically. Also enjou says it not lumine. I would rather trust official source rather than a fan made wiki
I find it so funny how rukhadevatta made a whole plan and sacrificed herself and created a new being (nahida) just for her to erase rukhadevatta seemingly fixing the problem. AND THEN NAHIDA LEARNS A FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE
correct me if i'm wrong, isn't what rukkhadevata tried to erase is the content of forbidden knowledge, aka the knowledge itself? to prevent anyone else from learning it. nahida knowing the existence of forbidden knowledge doesn't mean anything. knowing the existence of a knowledge and learning that knowledge are 2 different matter.
@@melankhton the fake sky isn't forbidden knowledge, because the knowledge is still from teyvat. even the heavenly principles being a descender isn't a forbidden knowledge since apep still remembers it. forbidden knowledge are knowledge specifically from beyond teyvat. we still don't know what it actually is, but we know what it can do to those who learn about the knowledge. it will corrupt their mind, it can even spread to others and basically mutate their body or giving them illness like eleazar.
"we enter sumeru and the first thing we do is to smell the weird plants, we pass out" CRYINGG 😭😭 okay but this was absolutely incredible, you put so much work into this and i appreciate it so much. YOU'RE the legend here, well done
Oh my god this needs more views and tbh I really feel for orobashi he wasn’t a bad ruler her just wanted his people to live in prosperity, his sacrifice to be killed by raiden to save his people makes him one the best gods in the story.
As said by another theory(A GAME THEORY).. maybe tsaritsa plans to overthrow ths heavenly principles... thus making the traveller and tsaritsa have the same goal. Yet we're fighting against the fatui. And the gods also abandoned the gnosis for a reason.. ei, zhongli, and venti too. The gnosis probably causes the erosion of those gods in exchange for little power. Venti wasent a war god, zhongli got old, and ei was strong enough without the gnosis so they all didint care much to lose the gnosis. But it is a theory, after all. Edit:I may have responded to the wrong comment, opsie
I don't know why it never occurred to me that the twins were leaving after they had witnessed the shit in Khaenri'ah and THEN got cubed. Shame on me for not paying enough attention at the beginning
I think that's why the traveler got cubed we saw something we weren't supposed to or we have knowledge that were not allowed to take with us outside of tevat
It makes sense why the sumeru statue of the seven appears to be the child form because when Rukkhadevata became an Archon, she already exhausted her power to save deshret's people. It also makes sense why the consciousness of Rukkhadevata the traveler and nahida saw on irminsul was also in child form which means Rukkhadevata is in child form throughout her archon position all along (after archon war to 500 years ago)
Amazing video! Genshin lore is so interesting and unique. I really wish stuff wasn’t locked behind limited events bc some people will miss them. Natlan actually got new lore in 4.0! With the talking stick (Fontaine Claymore) it revealed how Natlan was a burning nation with all of its tribes fighting each other most likely for land. I’m assuming Natlan is beside Sumeru and Fontaine so it will be long but not too wide. One of the men Tenoch saw the cataclysm a “turbid black tide” that the people called the cataclysm. So I’m assuming the Aztec themed tribe will be closest to the desert. He brought together all of the main tribes and they actually joined together! Some time after the Mare Javari was born. The story also mentions one of the tribe leaders making a petition to the lady of fire so she was indeed alive 500 years ago before the cataclysm…afterward unknown right now. I’m so excited for Natlan especially since the names were African and Indigenous which will make the nation super rich in numerous different unique & diverse tribes. And it will be better unlike Sumeru mix matching everything at least Natlan will have everything separated within different tribes.
@@2triedforthis830I wouldn’t hold your breathe. Black and brown characters aren’t popular in Asia, and they spend the most money on the game. Also China isn’t obsessed with intersectional identity politics the way the West is. They are going to create characters that make them money, not to appease people in the west who obsess over skin color.
@@irisamanda3922 I think so too. But I gotta give them the benefit of the doubt after the controversy of Sumeru cast and them being whitewashed. They seem to be valuing their players opinions sometimes and might actually create a more diverse cast. I just hope so cuz it would be so disappointing 😭
@@2triedforthis830 at the end of the day it’s an anime video game whose largest customer base is in Japan and China, and they outspend us players 100 to 1. Unless the Asian base starts crying for diversity I highly doubt that Mihoyo is going to make the Natlan crew any shade of black or dark brown.
yeah natlan is confirmed to be next to the desert, so at the very end of the left of the desert we’ll have natlan. my source is a world quest that came out in 4.0 where a guy says “ maybe i’ll go to natlan across the desert “ or something like that
38:42 Khaenri'ah was in fight against the abyss monsters. Their research was about a new source of energy, which don't existed in Teyvat (forbidden knowledge). And after their interaction with Enkanomiya (they learned about the language of the united nation, our Latin, and the origin of Teyvat, all of this is also forbidden knowledge), they started their research about create life, since they discovered the primordial one can do it. From now up is just my interpretation of the events + some theories Celestia never liked people having forbidden knowledge, but Khaenri'ah wasn't under their jurisdiction, since they were not under the Seven. So, they didn't send any nail to destroy them nor to stop the abyssal corruption the forbidden knowledge could bring with (yes, when you deal with forbidden knowledge you get corrupted). At some point, all of this forbidden knowledge, from different sources, about different topics, got out of control. When the problem reached the Seven Nations, Celestia sent the Archons in person to destroy Khaenri'ah. Since they can't tell people about forbidden knowledge, the "official version" said Khaenri'ah was in war against the world and sent those machines and monsters to destroy everyone, so they had no choice but to send the Archons to destroy Khaenri'ah. But we know they sent the machines and the Schwanenritter to fight against the abyss monsters. In the abyss order vision, since the beginning, the fact that forbidden knowledge brings the abyss corruption is Celestia's fault. I mean, they guess Celestia chosen to make the abyss corruption happen when someone uses the forbidden knowledge, because they don't want people to use or know. So, if it's true, they were corrupted because Celestia wanted, and Celestia let they got corrupted without help just because they don't serve under the Seven, but this didn't prevent them to send people to destroy Khaenri'ah, to CURSE their people, and to made people think they were trying to destroy the world. That's why they want revenge.
Thank you! I've mostly gone through this myself by this point, but there's been a need for this since many of the Genshin lore tubers don't actually explain lore and jump straight to speculation. Ashikai has done some speculationless lore videos, but only a few and even then she's the only one I'm aware of (other than two other channels that aren't even Genshin lore channels) that's done a video like that and I follow a lot of them. Essentially there's a severe lack of channels actually diving into and explaining Genshin lore and not speculation. It's really sad since there's a lot there that many people just straight up don't know about
I think Catwithbluehat usually also explains lore. While they sometimes put on a couple speculations in their lore videos, it's more in a "I wonder if this could mean that, we'll have to wait to find out" kinda way.
Morax's girlfriend died right before his eyes, yet he didn't retaliate immediately. Instead, he prioritized the safety of his people first. Only after securing their well-being did he unleash his fury, obliterating all other gods and achieving his revenge. Respect!
great video! you’re such lifesaver for us who are interested in lore but have difficulties (two common examples i can think of are adhd and dyslexia, like, i LOVE genshins long history but my adhd doesn’t LMAO). i really appreciate that you divided everything into segments and that the source is shown in the corner for those who wanna look into things by themselves later. another thing i really appreciate is that speculations/theories are explicitly stated on the screen for clarity! the visuals as well make everything a lot more easy to remember and simplified since some characters and subjects feel almost purposefully written for confusion sometimes haha. i have a request for real subtitles to be added since i sometimes had trouble understanding what was said and i had to replay some stuff a few times. auto captions are good BUT can’t always be trusted as it will often either miss words or caption things incorrectly. besides this though it’s a good video!
Just realized Genshin lore only goes back to less than 10,000 years. That's quite surprising considering the amount of content that we have so far. Great job on the timeline though, I look forward to seeing another update.
I have a theory, is our journey in Teyvat wayy MORE SIGNIFICANT than the other siblings? it looks like we did more things despite the other sibling being conscious for far longer than us and already journeyed the entirety of Teyvat before realizing "the truth of this world" then joins the abyss. If this would be the case then I can see us not agreeing or understanding the perspective of the other sibling and ended up having a fight or have massive conflict/plot twist. I don't think our journeys end would end up be simply joining the fatui or the abyss to go up against Celestia.
I think it's entirely possible that our sibling spent much less time interacting with people's troubles throughout their journey. But I think we had at least some evidence that they did play some significant role in Sumeru & probably in other nations as well, just not really as obviously stated. But it could be a major plot point later on. Maybe we do spend much more time with the everyday & major issues of Teyvatians, which leads us to a different conclusion than our sibling, who has not made that connection to this new world. Could be interesting 🤔
I like this one along with the sources, you go the extra mile sourcing and reading those. I can only play genshin during the weekends where I feel more peaceful and calm. I’ve been confused of the timeline as I thought everything happens during the fall of Khaenriah lmao. I don’t have the time to play Genshin during weekdays due to job. It’s part of my self-care routine aside from gym and going out for a walk during the weekends. And what more the game has so many lore that I feel that it keeps me going and looking forward to weekends haha.
21:32 the explanation of the Imunlaukr clan it's simple, but you committed a little mistake in Sal Vindagnyr history, so things got twisted. It's a sequence of events, something like this: > the age of the kings happen > andrius vs decarabian > some people run from the war > some of them find Dragonspine and build Sal Vindagnyr civilization > everything that you said happens > everyone dies > Imunlaukr gets mad and wants revenge against celestia > he decides to find a place in war, to paint everything in red with their blood > mondstadt were in war, still andrius and decarabian > he battled, lived, died and left descendants there, who fought in the war, like him > they don't know about his revenge, they was just regular people > they became mondstadt citizens as everyone > they were strong and became an influent clan So, yes, Sal Vindagnyr was born and died during the age of the kings, they were created by people running from the war, were destroyed, and the war were still happening. And yes, the age of the kings, at least the battle between Andrius and Decarabian, started many many many years ago, maybe further than we think. By the time Sal Vindagnyr were destroyed, Khaenri'ah was being build. On the other hand, Guizhong died around 3700 years ago, as you said in the video, and she were known to collect Khaenri'ah machines. So, Khaenri'ah was already developed in Guizhong's time, +3700 years ago. Conclusion: - Andrius vs Decarabian war start: around 4800~4500 years ago - Sal Vindagnyr creation: around 4800~4500 years ago - Sal Vingagnyr destruction/Khaenri'ah creation: +4000 years ago - Beginning of the Archon War: around 3700 years ago
The twins had to come to Tevat prior to the year 500, because one or the other lived with Pierro, the Jester when he was still a royal Madge (perScaramouche) and that would be before he left Khaenri’ah and went into the Tsaritsa to become the head of the Fatui. Also I would imagine, he and Dainslief are good buddies as they were both pure Khaenri’ahns and must have known each other in King Irmin’s royal court. (Dainslief became the head of the Armies, before he became the Boughkeeper with access to the Irminsul. ) To
This is the stuff that I've been searching for YEARS , Thank you Thank you so much for providing us with such a complete and well made video. I can't believe this channel only got under 10k subs. You deserve more subs and loves from us ❤
Such an amazing video. Worth watching every second of it. The insane lore behind the game and the dedication of people like you to unearth it is awesome. Earned a sub. P.S. Loved the bits with the progress up the mountain and the dancing hilichurl to Albedo's trailer music at the end!
Im actually enjoy watching the entire video. your rough drawing is the best part beside your storytelling..and sense of humour.. Keep the good work man ✨
I wish there were subtitles on the video , missed out on so many small things. But the content is highly appreciated, it was a very good recap/lore kind of video, to set everything into perspective.
I would like to know about your thoughts now that it's been revealed that the gnoses are from the 3rd descender's body/corpse and the primordial one AND the second who came worked together to make it (like they weren't fighting each other during the next war but possibly working together?)
Amazing video! I enjoyed watching it and learned a few things I hadn't before. The only thing I think you could have mentioned is that random guy fighting with Bosacius is Yelan's ancestor. Not super important but I figured since you already mentioned his existence you might as well say a little more about him.
woah i watched this whole video and thought it sooo good, its very well made and reliable, a great summary to such a long ass story ahshasah! great job dude
I love genshin lore so much 🫠 Imunlakur is my fav lore character ever! Him and the blood stained knight (its capitano lets be honest lmao) the people who write the lore of Teyvat and all these stories really have big imagination and are very good knowledge of irl mythology..the story is only getting better and better
I have gone through all of it! Thanks for the hard work! Now I understand and also know the whole storyline although I've been playing the game for months but literally skipped everything for premogems, lol.
First time to come across you on youtube. I love the way the video was panned out and explained with tidbits of humor here and there. Looking forward to future content. New sub from me!
awesome video!! i’ve always liked learning the genshin lore but always found it quite difficult to understand the details and especially the timeline so this video was so helpful to me! you’ve made it easy to understand while really entertaining (and funny too lol) you’ve got a new subscriber! :)
I need you to know I consumed this entire video while cleaning my house and it was just the perfect thing! I feel like I finally have a general understanding of the lore (which is an accomplishment let me tell ya). Thank you 😭🙏🏼 (your little doodles were my favorite part)
I like how the lore is presented in a way that people who haven't played GI can somehow catch up with the story. I'd also would like to mention that I didn't encoumter a single ad throughout the video which made the storytelling more immersive.
Excellent excellent video explaining a lot of lore !! Thank you sm for making this video I can just tell how much time and effort it took just by watching !! Have a great day and will be waiting for more content
MY BRAIN IS OVERFLOWING WITH GENSHIN KNOWLEDGE AND LORE THANKS TO THIS VID- I'm never gonna look at genshin the same again bc now I'll be thinking of LOREEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'm glad you included Eberhart's story. I also liked his story and shared his story whenever the chance arises in the fandom. He's just a bog menace. He was hellbent on taking the position of being the head of his clan, no matter the means. And I respect him for that.
A simple correction about goddes of flower is that she actually died in battle near tunugi hallow where hydro archon and most likely rukkhadevata also died and the eternal oasis was to stop her from corroding but deshret died too early to actually find a cure for her Other was orobashi actually died from reading different sets of books that had knowledge about PO and dragons Era As for azdaha yeah that toad is now huge af liyue gonna be in trouble if he does comes above-ground
@@EternaMidnight bro i know that what i meant to say was he read the worlds taboo's and had to face heavens wrath who even died from reading books in genshin if you're researching taboo you're most likely under heavens watch
Good job, this video is really great... people who loves Genshin lore should watch this to remind how awesome the story is Anyway that poor Iwakura clan, I feel sorry for them lol
I wish this had subtitles! Its really difficult to make out the accent and youtube subtitles are really bad! I love how you describe everything but somethings are really difficult to understand without the subs.
i have wahtched so many videos about the timeline and genshin lore bit this one is definetely the best! There are so many answers, even to the little happenings of teyvat and its also a great recap. Dont worry about the videos lenght, if youre really interested it doesnt matter if its one or two hours or even more, there is a pause button :D it would be worse if any unanswered questions remain :)
I also believe that Lias from Monstadt and Dr B from Lithue all went to school together with El Docttore when they were young. Lisa knew what they were trying to do, so she retired to the library InMonstadt.
If I may add something, Zhongli story 5 clarifies that Barbatos is the second oldest of the archons, older even than the twins Ei and Makoto. At some point in ancient times, Istaroth created the 1000 winds, among which one of them was Barbatos. 2600 years ago was his first contact with humanity, but that does not mean he was born at that time. It was simply never recorded in history before.
