Aloha Charles, yes mahalo to Linda. Fantastic video explaining the changes to the land mass. Really enjoyed it, hope you enjoyed your flight. Much mahalo Charles.
Great views of the new coastline Charles! So many black sand beaches and such a rugged coastline between them. Beautiful with the dark lava against the gorgeous colors of the surf and waves. ~~ Your tour guide commentary was so entertaining. I got a big laugh out of your reminder that people had a chance to dress appropriately before we left! LOL! ~~ Another big mahalo to Linda for taking you, Scott and all of us along with her. I'll be looking forward to more from you.
Hi 😄 Oops im now watchin rest of this! Got side tracked from March break & gr-kids. Great Heli ride, the view & commentary 👍😍. Much thx Linda 🌺💕 & Charles 🌴😉👌
By the way, reading the comments I am chuckling at the thought of all the random people 🐱🐸🐥🐶🐰🐢🐠🐈🦌🐕🐀 running across this, reading the (◕‿◕✿) 💖 comments and wondering ¯\_(ツ)_/¯who in the hell is Linda ❣️😆🤗🤟💟♥️
Thank you, again, Linda for making this trip and subsequent videos possible for us. Charles, this is interesting and beautiful views. The topaz ocean against the black lava is stunning. I heard that the new coastline had many black sand beach areas but I had no idea how much.
First time to see the all of the new coastline, thank you Charles! I guess that black thing in the right side wall of the channel just below fissure 8 is the lava tube you mentioned? And thank you Linda for making this possible!
Excellent, Charles, thank you, Linda, and thank you Mr Mongoose for keeping us on our toes! Those new beaches look like they'll provide fun exploration for years to come. Mahalo.
Hi Captain Charles! Such a beautiful coastline you've shown us on this chilly, but amazing flight! Your piloting skills are wonderful in that you flew the helicopter, narrated and took a video all at once! Such amazing multi-tasking! Those new black sand beaches are gorgeous! The beautiful aqua water with waves crashing against lava rocks and cliffs was so beautiful! Captain, I do believe the makers of that helicopter forgot to attach the doors. I do hope you and your camera were well restrained so as not to take a high dive into the lovely ocean. New land! Isn't that fascinating! Your island has grown tremendously forming a beautiful new coastline with many black sand beaches. How awesome is that?!! You sure did pick a wonderful flight route! This was a wonderful tour, Captain Charles, of a most beautiful new coastline which a nasty lava eruption flow has created. You did an outstanding job filming, narrating, and flying, from the rear seats even, us along the new coast formed by the recent lava flow. I'm sad we have to land now, but I sure do thank you for a wonderful tour today. You were awesome, and I'm going to recommend that you get an additional set of helicopter rotors to attach to your chest...silver ones, of course. Thank you very much, Captain Charles! Now, where do I put this bag?? :-) ♡
Hi Charles, you forgot to say, “In case of crash landing the person sitting next to you may be used as a floatation device.” That line is from a simulator ride at Sea World. This is my second most favorite simulator ride❤️ Thank you Linda for making this possible and thank you Charles for this educational, joyful ride. Awesome job!
Mahalo Linda for getting these 2 up there so they can share the clips... Charles next time, can you get Scott to film you hanging off the landing skids as in the style of Mission Impossible? (lol as you replied to Pam Bussey, It's Only 1000 Ft).. That was a suggestion as when I finally get there we can reshoot this after having taken our brave pills BaaaaaaHaHaHa. Cool clip.
Mahalo Linda for making this happen ❤️ and Maholo Charles for an awesome informative ( as always ) video , I’m looking forward to anther instalment! I love the take off in a helicopter it’s such a thrill 😁👍🏼
You definitely rocked that presentation, Charles. Very informative and entertaining as well. Big thanks to Linda for her generosity in bringing you both along, (and us as well). Looking forward to Part II. Say "hi" to Mr. Mongoose also.
Aloha...what a super job you did on your video and we all appreciate that Linda made this possible! I like the info you give us on what were seeing...thanks so much!
Are some areas still smouldering? Not sure if that is what I see off in the distance. Beautiful Blue water shows up very well on the Black Beaches... Great Video, THANK YOU! From the 💜 in Florida
Such a great job on the video. I felt like I was sitting in a chair actually on the flight. Again great job. Oh, and please send my rain check to..... 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😎👍🏽🌎😉🤘🏽😍✌🏽️
That was so well done, Charles. I was curious to see what was now the "new land" and you answered my question. FYI, because of yours and Scott's videos, I have had the privilege of exploring and becoming familiar with "The Big Island".
Superb and fascinating fly over Charles, amazing how much has changed. Seeing the little island formations along the coastline it would be interesting to find out how much further under the ocean water the erupting lava went and what we can't see. Also how marine life will adapt and return, but that's for the future. Fabulous as usual, can't wait for the next. Until next time Aloha.
Your description of the use of the air sick bag had an unfortunate adverse effect on me! Otherwise, the views of the new coastline were amazing. Looking forward to the 400+ stills.
Another superb video, Charles! I like how you made your voice sound muffled, as if you were actually speaking over a loudspeaker. And I love how the black lava contrasts with the brilliant blue waters. I hope that in the not-so-distant future that they open all that up to the public to see and explore.
I've never been to beautiful Hawaii, but was curious as to what geographically resulted from the eruption. Amazing how vast the new coastline is. I wonder if it can be inhabited safely or not. Maybe aircrete dome homes that are low in cost should another eruption occur, thus less investment to lose. I wonder if certain indigenous plants can be seeded to accelerate the return of vegetation. Thanks for this interesting video.
I wish to cojplain about your unfilfilled promise to show pictures from the leilani area. I want my money back :-) Your video with commentary complements really well the one made by the unknown dude who was sitting next to you on the helicopter. Your coastline footage is actually better than that other guy's despite being shot on the way back. As I said on hat other dude's video comments, your helicoppter tour was more interesting than the one I took (we didn't see the coastline, but went up Pu'u'o'o and spent time at some unimpressive falls near Hilo instead) Because I followed you and that other dude's videos since last May, when I visited the area and especiallty took helicopter ride, it was quite special for me to be able to recognize areas and oriente myself (for instance relative to PGV). I have to assuyme that this ridewas far mroe emotionaly significant for you who lived through this first hand and knew what the land looked like before. I take it you and that other dude flew "standby" as part of the special deal to residents? or has that deal expired ?
Lol lol lol Charles your silly. But you know your voice is just beautiful 😍💙. Its amazing up there. Hawaii is growing isn't it? WOW!!! I wonder what it looks like from under the water looking at the coast line!!!? I hate to ask Charles but what did it cost you to rent the chopper??
Really cool stuff Charles! The waves hitting the coast is absolutely beautiful! Some of the formations of lava look like natural piers jutting into the ocean. Would they corrode over time like the lava island or could they possibly be used as a boat launch?
Shocking to see no shallow coastal area's good for diving. Was hoping to see something along the lines of the old Kapoho shoreline. Had just visited and dived in this area 3 weeks before the event. Last dive with the turtles in the champagne pond area. So sad.
o vulcão kilauea deixou de funcionar - Erupção - em agosto de 2018 e ficou em silêncio. A terra está fumegando e a nova lava está esfriando lentamente.
You keep saying you want to explore the beaches. They all look the same to me. What would your explorations would uncover? There appears to be nothing but lava....
