the footage that you show on this , is the best of all of the reviews on you tube so far... looks like you are the only one knowing how to use all its features... can you please share the settings and if you use a lut or something else?
I sold all of my "regular" camera gear that I had used previously for run and gun vlogs. Just didn't take it with me much anymore. I thought the phone would replace it and it does really good work BUT you mentioned the flp-up monitor.....killer feature. Thanks for this vid and yes, very long time sub here.
I started recording content on my phone recently! The only problem I have with it is the same thing you mentioned… I can’t see myself. I love action cameras and your video has me thinking. Thanks for your content pal!
Hey brother great video! Questions: can you explain standard profile? what other exposure settings did you change? did you color grade everything afterward? just trying to understand how much work you did in post to get the image to look like that. Thanks!
What you are previewing (simply shooting in 8K for vlogging and candid shots - non-action shots along with the flip up monitor) is what is really impressive about this camera. And, why i'm gonna get it.
You're definitely right about the ultra wide. I would've expected those shots to be the standard wide, since there wasn't any distorted lines. That's really impressive. I have always noticed that action cameras and even some smartphones have really good dynamic range without having to really work for it. Simply throw it in auto and let the camera do the work and the picture looks pretty good. Nice review!
Great review! You’ve quickly become one of my favorite gear reviewers. I was really hoping to see a upgrade to the flipscreen - to fully articulated "360-degree" and make it "360"offical, and the lack of 10-bit support feels like a missed opportunity, it’s 2024, after all! 8K just eats up too much storage without offering a huge quality improvement. Plus, the color balance in 8K seems a bit off. I think I’ll wait for next year’s model, but your review made the decision a lot clearer!
Just an excellent video. The relaxed tone really helps in taking the information..im so burned out with all the technical videos between new action cams, they are so much more similar than different. Ive been struggling wiht video on dslrs/mirorless for a long time. So im looking to get one of these for locations especially / walkarounds. It STILL super tough to judge which one is the best to purchase. That said, dji doesnt have thier app on google play (china shenaningans im sure)...so im leaning towards insta360. Also at first I was a bit concerned about him showing what these cams can do, because at this guys level, everything going to look good. Im an art director, and at a certain point your seeing the 'art' (directors eye) moreso than what the camera can / cant do unless you get hyper specific. Definitely saved this vid for reference and sent to my other photogs struggling with video. Cheers from NYC
Great video! When you were filming with the DJI Mic 2, was that always with the receiver plugged into the USB-C port, or sometimes connected via Bluetooth?
Hi, nice video! I wasn't able to find the accessories you used on the pro. 2 Like the casing quick release Mount and the microphone adapter etc. Can you direct me or send me a link please? Also does the cage and other accessories fit both the pro and the Pro. 2? Thank you.
I think the reason why it looks that way in the majority of my shots is because I tend to set the exposure value to -1 when using smaller sensors, I find that it's easier to raise up the shadows in post than recover the highlights. In-turn I think that's why the sky is very deep. I also didn't grade this footage much at all so that's something to note.
Love the video!! Totally unrelated question. What’s your experience using third party lenses on the R5C body? I am using the sigma 18-35mm 1.8, it can’t seem to track my subject but does perfectly on the r6 body. Would you know what I am missing?
I connected it, but I honestly increased the gain too much on the mics internally and found out after the fact unfortunately. What you hear is me trying to fix my mess-up.
Action cams are dope to have in the kit! I got the Go 3 and it’s pretty solid, I wanna pick up the 3s so the profiles match a bit better but like you said, small cameras get it done 🫡
Bro so I want to ask.. is it actually a 360 camera in addition to everything? I see 1 lens but the name throw me off lol… Also do these models have underwater case setups?
You dont have a stake in the product you're reviewing. It was given to you to use for free for some time before the general public has access to it. And now you're putting out a video on a product that you didn't have to shell any money out for to use and grow your channel. That's a sponorship even if you proclaim that you don't do sponsored videos, so you can stand out from the crowd. But this video isn't any different and you're not any different until you buy it with your own money.
I appreciate it! Man I swear I always ask them about them every-time I get my car serviced being that I came from an SUV lmaooo. The compression on RU-vid makes it look super smooth, but it's really just the tread style on the stock S-line of Audi tires. They have tread, they'll be due for a replacement in few thousand miles at my next milestone service according to the dealership.
I was interested until I heard it was limited to 8-bit. Deal breaker for me! It also seems a little disingenuous for them to purposefully hide that part in their marketing materials.
Honestly, if they could add a natural looking Bokeh when vlogging this could replace a full frame/ mirrorless camera. I am willing to bet that 95% of viewers would not notice a difference between this and a Sony/ Canon.
Yet another RU-vidr who's paid by the manufacturer to paint the camera in a good light while downplaying it's weaknesses. These paid promotion videos aren't honest they're paid to say good things about the products.
That's crazy I never thought about that until you said something lol. I really just used the standard profile 95% of the time, I find that I don't wanna do a ton of grading on action camera footage.
