Tashi Delek! Welcome to our new video where we will explain what the New Kadampa Tradition is, and answer questions such as Who is Dorje Shugden, is it an evil spirit or buddhist protector deity? Who is Kelsang Gyatso and why his followers are openly opposing the Dalai Lama?
NAMES AND TERMS MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO:
The Dalai Lama is a title given by the Tibetan people to the foremost spiritual leader of the Gelug or "Yellow Hat" school of Tibetan Buddhism, the newest and most dominant of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The 14th and current Dalai Lama is Tenzin Gyatso, who lives in exile as a refugee in India.
Dorje Shugden is a controversial protection deity associated with the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism.
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso was a Buddhist monk, meditation teacher, scholar, and author. He was the founder and spiritual director of the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union, a registered non-profit, modern Buddhist organization that came out of the Gelugpa school/lineage
Panchen Lama is one of the most important figures in Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism, second only to the Dalai Lama himself.
Geshe Losang Gyatso, the Director of the Buddhist School of Dialectics. On February 4, 1997, he and two of his disciples in Dharamsala were murdered. These three Gelukpa monks were known for openly criticizing the worship of Shugden.
Trijang Rinpoche (1901-1981), the main teacher of Kyelsang Gyatso and junior tutor of the 14th Dalai Lama.
Atiśa was a Buddhist religious leader and master. He is generally associated with his work carried out at the Vikramashila monastery in Bihar.
Je Tsongkhapa was an influential Tibetan Buddhist monk, philosopher and tantric yogi, whose activities led to the formation of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. He is also known by his ordained name Losang Drakpa or simply as "Je Rinpoche”.
The Mahayana path is the path of the bodhisattva, who sees the emptiness of all phenomena and who aspires to free all living beings from suffering and lead them to complete enlightenment.
Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism is **the newest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism**. It was founded by Je Tsongkhapa.
Sakya School is one of four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the Red Hat Orders along with the Nyingma and Kagyu.
The New Kadam school of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by the great Bengali master Atiśa in the 11th century, emphasized compassion, pure discipline, and study.

Geshe or geshema is a Tibetan Buddhist academic degree for monks and nuns. The degree is emphasized primarily by the Gelug lineage, but is also awarded in the Sakya and Bön traditions.
Tulku is a reincarnate custodian of a specific lineage of teachings in Tibetan Buddhism who is given abhiṣeka and trained from a young age by students of his or her predecessor.

I have been studying and practising Buddha's teachings from the NKT for thirteen years. I read other texts and watch teachings from other traditions and feel no sense of guilt. Basically it is all the same, to go for Refuge and strive for Enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings. I practice Dorje Shugden prayers but don't wish to harm those who do not agree with it. I certainly would not deny non-Shugden monks or practitioners access to food or medical care ... that would go against Buddhas most basic teachings. I am very involved in my Centre and was even a resident there for some time but do not feel as if I am part of a cult. I felt ill when I learned of the trouble between Shugden and non-Shugden practitioners which is why I started reading and listening to teachings outside of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's ones to reassure myself that it was qualified and genuine. I am satisfied that Geshe-la is pure in his beliefs and teachings are authentic and follow those from Buddha, Atisha and Je Tsongkhapa. Are we not taught to view our Spiritual Guide as an emanation of Buddha? Are we not taught to respect ALL living beings because we do not know whether they may actually be a Buddha and to harm or disrespect a Buddha is a karmic nightmare? Please, let commonsense prevail, respect everyone's right to religious freedom.

Sou praticante de Dorje Shugden há anos, sou aluno de um Guru que ensina esta prática , ele não é um Guru NKT, e há muitos e muitos altos Gurus pelo mundo que propagam esta prática. A única hierarquia que existe no Budismo é você (o aluno) e seu Guru (que lhe deu iniciações). E você deve confiar em seu Guru como sendo o buda vivo, mesmo que ele seja um guru pobre morando numa caverna. O aluno que abandona a prática de Dorje Shugden quebra o samaya com seu Guru, e isso é a coisa mais triste que pode acontecer na relação guru-discípulo. Então, confie no Lojong, Lam-Rim e Mahamudra, e faça o que seu Guru ensina. Simples assim.

@@gabimarkifyI practice the Dharma of Lord Buddha,Atisha and Lama Tsongkhapa presented by my kind root guru,Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.I disparage no one's sincere practice of whichever Buddhist tradition they follow.I have no wish to disparage his Holiness nor the Tibetan people.There has been years debating this issue.Now we just wish to practice free from slander and divisive speech.Please practice what your Guru teaches in peace and I will practice mine.May we all be freed.

As a Buddhist, I have asked myself many times: Why didn't these loving wise masters of Tibetan Buddhist teachings (Dalai Lama and Geshe Kelsang Gyastso) come together to solve this problem? If they could not solve this peacefully being Buddhist masters, how can we ever expect to achieve peace amongst ourselves? Reading the comments you can see the havoc/hate in the words of some of the posts. I can see and feel the suffering on both sides of this issue. Hoping the next generation can find a solution. May we all be free from suffering, may we all experience peace and happiness.

Shugden vs Dalai Lama is sectarianism vs non sectarianism. The Dalai Lama advocates non sectarianism and even respect all other religions including Atheist. But Shugden propagates the except Geluk all other sects of Tibetan Buddhism are not true Buddhism. So that means even excluding other Buddhist such as Thai, Sri Lankan, Japanese, Chinese etc as they do not supplicate to Dorji Shugden.

@@gyadre This is simply not true. To be more clear: this is a lie. Who has told you these things? It sounds like a fantasy to harm Shugden practitioners. Dorje Shugden practitioners pray for all Buddhists and all non-Buddhists, for all Religious people, and for all non-Religious people. Everybody is welcome! Dorje Shugden protects every living being, also people who offend him with ill-will, because he blames the Karma, never suffering living beings.

As a Buddhist in the tradition of Buddha Shakyamuni, Je Tsongkhapa, and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, I first made peaceful protests against the Dalai Lama in 1996. Then again in 2008. Then again in 2014. And then again in 2015. I did not become a Buddhist in order to do this. Protesting against one of the world’s most popular figures was not something I’d ever envisaged in my life plan. I have nothing against the man personally and would love nothing more than to live and let live. But the Dalai Lama has made this very difficult for me. Typical sign in Gelugpa monastery: "Those who propitiate Dorje Shugden or Have Association with Followers of Shugden May Not Attend or Explore The Territory of the On Going Teaching Program.” I could go into the ins and outs of how and why the Dalai Lama has banned the practice of Dorje Shugden for political gain using mickey-mouse reasoning and jingoistic superstitions that anyone with ten minutes of Buddhist education could refute, eg, doing this practice destroys Tibet’s hopes of independence and shortens the Dalai Lama’s life. I have looked into all the Dalai Lama’s speeches and their refutations in detail in the past, as have many others, including wise and learned scholars, Yogis and Buddhist masters; and you can find the debates all over the Internet. But why I and many others protested comes down, I think, to something very simple that everyone can understand. We stood up for the fundamental human right to defend ourselves against slander and to have the freedom to practice whatever religion we choose. Seen from the perspective of compassion, the maze of arcane reasoning and obscure religious history doesn’t seem so complicated. We were simply asking for freedom. It is not really that complicated at all.

No one was endangering YOUR rights to practice what you want. It was the NKT that interfered with a Tibetan Buddhist issue, when the NKT claims they're not even Tibetan Buddhists! The NKT was never interested in going to the HH Dalai Lama's teachings, your personal freedoms were not curbed. And yet, as you say, you and your organization stalked the Dalai Lama for decades, organized disgusting demos, humiliated him in public and online, called him saffron robed Muslim and portrayed him as the devil and hitler. You guys organized twitter storms. You've prevented people who went to listen to the Dalai Lama from receiving buddhist teachings by making noise and blocking venues. Some of your monks and nuns even disrupted the teachings of the Dalai Lama. Your guru probably never told you, it's not in any of Kelsang Gyatso's books anyway, that preventing people from receiving the dharma is the absolute worst thing you can do according to the Buddha (the real one), no amount of shiny temples and centers will purify that karma. 😢

As a youth Tibetan it’s the biggest mistake n the seed to unrest society..my question is when he has no issue wearing a Muslim cap himself n encouraging Muslim but he has zero tolerance towards Shukden which thousands of Tibetans believe in as a leader it’s very dangerous decision n irresponsible act. I respect HHD but we can’t turn blind on these issue that effects our society. We are small society n we must believe in unity instead of division. Love n Respect 🙏🙏

Main issue is Shugden instigate denigration of Non Geluk other three sects and Ningma in particular. It has history of destructive episodes eg in early 20th century the staunch Shugden preacher ordered the destruction of Ningma monastery in Tibet which lead to destruction of Ningma monasteries in eastern Tibet. Wearing Muslim cap or any other religious or cultural is showing respect.

@@gyadre Pabongkhapa Déchen Nyingpo is the name of this hateful teacher. He inspired so much destruction of the Nyingma schools and their monasteries that his name is still remembered with loathing. His followers desecrated statues of Padmasambhava, Guru Rinpoche which is on the same level of the CCCP. Pabongkhapa also condemned the Bardo Thodo (Tibetan Book of the Dead) which was written by Guru Rinpoche by saying that it was written by someone who was drunk.

It’s a neutral video. However, no one ever forces anyone to enter NKT or doesn’t allow them to leave. If NKT has such a huge following worldwide, certainly the western world has gained immense benefit from Geshe-Kelsang Gyatso’s teachings. It’s unfortunate that there has been division on the diety worship. But I wish there was more peace among the different sects of Tibetan Buddhism. I think it would be unfair to call NkT a cult. Whomever has joined has done so by choice and they are open to read any other books. But to keep teachings uniform in multiple NKT centers, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso only has his books there. Hoping for more peace between the sects of Tibetan Buddhism in the future.

This New KT all it's members are mainly western people. There are no Tibetan people in it, not one. There are ( Dolgyal ) shugden worshipers in India but they don't belong to the NKT Cult. but the shugden followers wants to destroy all other traditions. They tried their best in tibet. it caused so much disunity in Tibet that when Chinese invaded Tibet they found it so easy. HadTtibetans united and held back emancipated, tired, and demoralised PLA cannon fodders for few years, then international pressure could have saved the holy nation of Tibet. Loss of independnce is caused by this spirit

@@factspoken9062 I believe you got the information wrong. We only want to protect Geden tradition, but we value all other traditions. The disunity was caused after the Dalai Lama started segregating shugden practitioners, without that segregation there would not be so much hatred between tibetan traditions.

Today Tibetan shugdenpas must be 1 or two percent of the population. So it cannot be called as hatred between Tibetan tradition. It is just jamar koop daks pretending to believe for the sake of money. It is clear from ex-dolgyalwa Lama tsetas video. Why do you think 5th Dalai lama said dont follow DS. More over the Thirteen Dalai Lama was fully against it and as such maintained the independence of Tibet. Moment the 13th passed away, evil follower of DS raised their ugly head. Yet Ling Rinpoche the SENIOR tutor warned Dalai Lama to investigate before embracing any spirits. As Sakya gongma says, Tibet lost its independence when unity was at the lowest. Please come to an international or national Kadampa festival and talk to different people. I guarantee you that most Kadampas will talk to you openly and kindly about these issues. I talked to Kadampa and Non-Kadampa Buddhists about these matters the first 5-7 years in Buddhism and I came to a very clear understanding of these matters. Every Buddhist tradition has advanced and realized practitioners, but also people on different levels of the path to liberation and enlightenment. Some are maybe at the very beginning and may say things that are not in line with Buddha's teachings or the Kadampa way of life. I am sure, you can clarify and purify these issues over time. However, you have choice! Choose any Buddhist or non-Buddhist Tradition that suits you well 😉 My only heartfelt advice: never leave the spiritual path!!!🪔 Much love and all the best to all of you🙏🦚🌱🍀💚🌈🌠

As someone from the west who is interested in Buddhism, this whole debate seems to make a mockery of the religion. I'm attracted to Buddhism for it's common sense and it's encouragement to experience the teachings for yourself. This Deity business just seems like cultural Tibetan nonsense. You might as well all be arguing over Santa Clause being an evil spirit or a Christmas protector. He's not even real. Grow up!

I have been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for nearly 30 years. Like any tradition it has grown and continues to learn. Like any tradition, it is not perfect. I have freinds and family ordained and who practice other Buddhist traditions. We often will debate with respect. It has never been a conflict to me, in fact I find different views interesting and healthy. I also have read some of the Dalai Lamas books and respect his wisdom. I choose to live in a Buddhist centre and we also have people who live there that also do not follow the NKT but follow their own spiritual path. This is not a problem, we have choice. However after studying for many years I find in my heart that Geshe Kelsangs teachings are the clearest I have found personally. To be honest, I didnt protest but I really find it really confusing why this happened as a buddhist. Also after spending a considerable time in Dorje Shugden Monastery in Nepal I saw first hand the impact this ban had on monks and their families. It was confusing and really sad. I respect the Dalai Lama and as the video clearly states in a slightly negative way that we see Geshe Kelsang as an emanation of Buddha Manjushri. . In the same way people beleive that the Dalai Lama is an emanation of Buddha Avoliketishvara , buddha of compassion. How we veiw our teacher depends on our faith. But faith is very personal as any Buddhist will tell you. We are never encouraged to have blind faith. As Buddhists from all traditions we all beleive that Buddha, an enlightened being can emanate in any form depending on the persons karma. For my brother thats another tradition, for me its the NKT and Dorje Shugden and his retinue including Mahakala and Yamantaka. Where I live there are 3 different traditions in my town. When people ask about the difference, I always tell them "try them all and see what feels right in your heart". We all have different karma. There is a beautiful Kagyu centre nearby where friends attend. On this special day of Je Tsong Khapa I am rejoicing in all the kindness I have recieved from my teacher and I am also rejoicing in all the other teachers who share the dharma, including his holiness the Dalai Lama. May we all find our peace with respect for each other and our traditions and dharma protectors. May we all heal our hearts and minds and awaken through the dharma, whatever tradition.. The world needs this now more than ever. Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha ...

Nobody is forced to join the NKT. If you don´t like it, choose a path that suits you. But don´t engage in hateful and discriminating speech. If your mind perceives the NKT as a cult, you might consider that you haven´t objectively observed the NKT. The definition of a cult does not fit the NKT. You can choose any tradition that suits you well to attain liberation and enlightenment. Your job is your mind. If your mind is still in Samsara, your mind might trick you. I know people in the NKT who are pure love, compassion, and wisdom - if you meet them you cannot deny the beauty of these pure people. Further, Geshe-la presents Kadam Dharma in a pure and undistorted way - if you read these words with blessings of Buddha it is a powerful source to purify your delusions / negative Karma and change your mind to wisdom and compassion - protecting you. Dharma is protection, don´t get confused gossiping about people who still strive for liberation and enlightenment.

For 400 years of sincere practitioners, including the tutors of the 14th Dalai Lama, Dharmapala Dorje Shugden was not experienced as a spirit, let alone an evil spirit. He is a fully enlightened being. Out of great compassion for all sentient beings, Dorje Shugden reincarnated as a Dharma Protector in order to be of benefit. He arose from a long line of incarnations that stem all the way back to the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, Manjushri. In each lifetime, he manifested great compassion and wisdom as can be seen in each existence’s tremendous contribution to preserving and propagating the Buddha’s teachings. In particular, the earlier incarnations performed many miraculous deeds because it was easier for people to gain faith through miracles at that time. Later incarnations focused on spreading and teaching the Dharma.

What is a Buddha? For me, a Buddha is not a guru, a deity, a statue or any other object of worship. A Buddha is a fully conscious human being with a mind of compassion and the wisdom to know how to use it AND protect it. Many believe Buddhism is about being nice and kind to everyone regardless of any abuse they may receive. But there is more to being a human being/Buddha than just sitting on a lotus and being nice. Personally, I'm not that kind of 'nice' Buddha. I see clearly, I hear clearly, I think clearly, I speak clearly and I feel clearly. And because of that I protect my mind, body, spirit, consciousness. I won't enable others to abuse me or my kindness or take it for granted. Kindness is what I and many others have to offer and that's why Dorje Shugden is an important facet/aspect of the human psyche to develop within us, especially women, because kindness and peace of mind are often what certain types of humans are jealous of and seek to destroy in us. Our peace of mind and our compassion must be protected with wisdom. ❤

Buddhism came to Tibet in 8th century and flourished. Gelugpa sect started only in 15th century. Shugden spirit came up only in the 17th century. Mahayana and Theravda never heard of this evil divisive jealous spirit. Even in Tibetan Buddhism, Nyingma, Kagyu (8branches), sakya, Jornang have nothing to do with this spirit. Even in the Gelug tradition, great Gelug leaders like 5th Dalai Lama advised against this spirit. When it comes to the modern day. Dalai Lama's SENIOR tutor was against the spirit. Dalai lamas junior tutor used it in a way like Prospero used Caliban ( Shakespeare's The Tempest). Fore seeing the confusion after his death , the Last advice of Trijang Rinpoche to his disciple was that : "After my demise you all should look upon Dalai Lama as your teacher, follow whatever he preaches without any question. Anyone who does otherwise is breaking samaya with me"

Peace of mind/heart is what we aspire to that's our most valuable possession ... once attained we must learn how to protect it ... not by attacking anyone ... but by being prepared to defend it from those who are jealous of it and wish to destroy it. To become a legit buddhist teacher one must undergoe rigorous study spanning at the least 18 to 23 years. Then around 5 to ten years minimum of solitary retreat and contemplation under the guidance of qualified master. Then you become a "genla". There are thirty-two Deities within the body mandala of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang (Je Tsongkhapa), and it is these Deities who manifest as the thirty-two Deities of Dorje Shugden's mandala. This was explained by Je Phabongkhapa, an emanation of Heruka, in his prayer to Dorje Shugden: "The aggregates, elements, sources, and limbs of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang Appear in the aspect of the five Lineages of Dorje Shugden and their retinues. Realizing that in reality I am practising the yoga of the thirty-two Deities of the body mandala, I offer this practice to you, O five lineages of Dorje Shugden; please accept it with delight. Of the Deities of the five lineages of Dorje Shugden, the principal Deity is Duldzin Dorje Shugden. He is a manifestation of the aggregate of consciousness of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang. Vairochana Shugden is a manifestation of the form aggregate of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang, Ratna Shugden is a manifestation of his aggregate of feeling, Päma Shugden is a manifestation of his aggregate of discrimination, and Karma Shugden is a manifestation of his aggregate of compositional factors. Many sadhanas of Dorje Shugden state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the 'Guru, Yidam, and Protector'.

As a Buddhist in the tradition of Buddha Shakyamuni, Je Tsongkhapa, and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, I first made peaceful protests against the Dalai Lama in 1996. Then again in 2008. Then again in 2014. And then again in 2015. I did not become a Buddhist in order to do this. Protesting against one of the world’s most popular figures was not something I’d ever envisaged in my life plan. I have nothing against the man personally and would love nothing more than to live and let live. But the Dalai Lama has made this very difficult for me. sign in Gelugpa monastery: Those who propitiate Dorje Shugden or Have Association with Followers of Shugden May Not Attend or Explore The Territory of the On Going Teaching Program.” I could go into the ins and outs of how and why the Dalai Lama has banned the practice of Dorje Shugden for political gain using mickey-mouse reasoning and jingoistic superstitions that anyone with ten minutes of Buddhist education could refute, eg, doing this practice destroys Tibet’s hopes of independence and shortens the Dalai Lama’s life. I have looked into all the Dalai Lama’s speeches and their refutations in detail in the past, as have many others, including wise and learned scholars, Yogis and Buddhist masters; and you can find the debates all over the Internet. But why I and many others protested comes down, I think, to something very simple that everyone can understand. We stood up for the fundamental human right to defend ourselves against slander and to have the freedom to practice whatever religion we choose. Seen from the perspective of compassion, the maze of arcane reasoning and obscure religious history doesn’t seem so complicated. We were simply asking for freedom. It is not really that complicated at all.

As an Indian mahayani Buddhist, I can see who is dividing Tibetans and who is uniting them, Hail to hiss holiness, I have come to know that his holiness was absolutely right 🙏 It is these Shugden follower's who are sectarian, and want to start their own sect, they even don't follow Buddhist Vinaya (code of conduct), shame to see such division created by Shugden followers, they only see and promote dorje Shugden. For them dorje Shugden is everything, not the Buddha, how can a Buddha speak through Oracle, speaking through Oracle also shows that this deity Dorje Shugden is not enlightened 🙏 Moreover going to the refugee of a deity named Dorje Shugden is going against the Buddha, Buddha is only refugee that one should go 🙏 Dorje Shugden is not a canonical deity, he is created by his followers due to controversy that happened long time ago, a deity who is not canonical and created by bunch of followers should not be accepted, tomorrow someone will come and say look he is my deity incarnation of Buddha, so make him major deity in all schools, if not we will make our own cult, and defame those who are against my deity. Don’t forget that the Dali Lama or Kundan, told all the Tibetan monks and nuns to stop practicing and making prayers to Dorje Shugden. If they refused, he had them disrobe and Kicked them out of the monastery, in which many entered at the age of 8 years old. He petitioned businesses and hospitals to not serve anyone that practiced Dorje Shugden. Signs were posted on the doors of these businesses in India. These monks and nuns asked Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, to help them. We protested at many of the Dali Lama’s events, asking that he consider religious freedom. Many years later, the Dali Lama agreed to lay his dispute to rest. There still is the Old Kadampa tradition that caters to the Dali Lama.

The 'alleged' origin or story of Dorje Shugden is irrelevant. Pro-Dalai Lama people will always 'divert' the discussion to that to sidestep the crux of the matter. The bottom line is: If you are a true Democratic society then every faith would be allowed so long as it's not breaking any laws. Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Atheists, Occultists co-exist in many Democratic societies today without having to ban one. The banning of Shugden practice is Undemocratic and shows what the "Da LIE Lama" is all about. I'm with Shugden practitioners ✊

His Holiness the Dalai Lama has many great books and Kelsang Gyatso also has a talent for writing very clear explanations. They are both my "teachers" in that sense. I have had several very good teachers and a few bad teachers. Sometimes the good teachers slip up and give a bad teaching. and sometimes the bad teachers accidently give a very good teaching. There is but ONE true guru called by many names. Look within your present experience to find her. 🙏❤

@pepe-giaIfjI8yl All "religions" began as cults. I'm not defending NKT or anything they do, but a couple books I've read by Kelsang Gyatso are very well composed and clear. Everything is changing and change today is happening faster than ever. These labels like "cult" will soon fall away as anything useful. The "news" today is now almost completely exposed as bias or opinion, and in a similar manner all these religious, political & philosophical conflicts and disagreements, ALL of them, are being exposed as merely relative localized biases, prejudice and preferences which will become trivial as communication becomes more interdependent. As I mentioned, even bad teachers sometimes provide good information and so the final "authority" is only the wisdom of enlightenment itself. Seek enlightenment 🙏❤

From the NKT (my) point of view, Dorje Shugden is an emanation of Je Tsongkhapa. Dorje Shugden's role is to protect the inner and outer development of Kadampa Buddhism for the benefit of living beings. NKT are never taught that Dorje Shugden either was, or is. any kind of vengeful evil spirit.

Agreed. Quite the opposite of being an evil spirit (and why would anyone worship an evil spirit?! lol), he is an emanation of the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri. As explained by 400 years' worth of Buddhist masters, including most recently Je Phabongkhapa, Trijang Dorjechang, Lama Yeshe of the FPMT, and Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

If this would be true, the Gelug lineage would be broken since the Fifth Dalai Lama: Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso (1617-1682), who was practicing Dorje Shugden already. And how can the holy Gelug lineage Gurus of Tibetan Buddhism be wrong? Because they obviously practiced Dorje Shugden, even composed texts / Sadhanas to the practice of Dorje Shugden: f.e., His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. This is simply a deluded view. H.H. the 14 DL has, by the way, corrected his view in 2020 and reassured it in 2021.

There is in fact every doubt. You are holding a superstitious ill-informed view. There are thirty-two Deities within the body mandala of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang (Je Tsongkhapa), and it is these Deities who manifest as the thirty-two Deities of Dorje Shugden's mandala. This was explained by Je Phabongkhapa, an emanation of Heruka, in his prayer to Dorje Shugden: "The aggregates, elements, sources, and limbs of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang Appear in the aspect of the five Lineages of Dorje Shugden and their retinues. Realizing that in reality I am practising the yoga of the thirty-two Deities of the body mandala, I offer this practice to you, O five lineages of Dorje Shugden; please accept it with delight. Of the Deities of the five lineages of Dorje Shugden, the principal Deity is Duldzin Dorje Shugden. He is a manifestation of the aggregate of consciousness of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang. Vairochana Shugden is a manifestation of the form aggregate of Lama Losang Tubwang Dorjechang, Ratna Shugden is a manifestation of his aggregate of feeling, Päma Shugden is a manifestation of his aggregate of discrimination, and Karma Shugden is a manifestation of his aggregate of compositional factors. Many sadhanas of Dorje Shugden state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the 'Guru, Yidam, and Protector'.

Mr. Kalsang knows he is a possible buddha but having broken his wows by being disobedient to the highest master the Dalai Lama … he will Likely spend many more lifetimes going around causing pain to himself. What if Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is an emanation of Guru Heruka / Je Tsongkhapa / Buddha Shakyamuni himself? Geshe Kelsang Gyatso has vows towards Dorjechang Trijang Rinpoche and all living beings, not the HH DL in particular. Looking at Geshe-las actions, spreading Dharma all over the world, he must be a holy being: 1400 Meditation centers and 6 temples so far (temple number 7 is starting) - in the Western World (no typical spiritual ground), and incredible books acknowledged by so many Buddhist masters.

And the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama has been the masters of all the Gelugpa lamas from the first Dalai Lama himself as he is the top disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa .I don’t know blabbering some dharma teachings or opening some centers like chain restaurants don’t make anyone holy. He may be of some benefits to others due to their karmic connections but ultimately your practice matters at the end of the day . The moment he broke his vows … he is not a lama to any serious Buddhist .

HH Phabongkha even wrote Melodious Drums, a special Sadhana for the Protector Dorje Shugden. Did you read this Praise HH Phabongkha composed for Dorje Shugden. How can these mindblowing Masters all be wrong? They are lineage masters going back all the way to the Buddha Shakyamuni and Heruka Father and Mother.

The 14th Dalai Lama was not Geshe Kelsang’s teacher and Geshe Kelsang never received empowerments from him. Geshe Kelsang's teacher was Venerable Kyabje Trijang Dorjechang.

Tsem Rinpoche is who brought me to learn more about Dorje Shugden. I know he honored and respected both the Dalai Lama and Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden is said to be a dharma protector and emanation of Manjushri, in turn he should be seen as a Buddha. From this video, it seems that NKT has taken it a bit too far.

As his final devotion before his death he did what he had to do. There are numerous gigantic statues of buddha shakyamuni. If you have a divisive mind you will read divisiveness into anything. Like Buddha Shakyamuni famously said: “You should know that all phenomena are like dreams” and “There is no creator other than mind.” (Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra / Heart Sutra) (2) Further, a fair amount of NKT “survivors”, even very prominent and leading figures of this group, realise their mistaken mind later on and join the NKT again, because they know after different experiences how pure and powerful Kadam Dharma really is. (3) Please consider, that you harm the flourishing of Buddha Dharma, your conventional self and many living beings, if you use divisive speech. We should encourage each other / spirituality and engage in actions that help people to find the spiritual path - without these correct paths, we are trapped in this never ending cycle of suffering. (4) Buddhas manifest in many different forms according to the wishes and needs of all sentient beings (many different lineages: Buddhist and even non-Buddhist).
