I own a 110 TD5 expedition prepared and am a die hard LR fan and think Land Rover have managed to build a cool replacement. I shall be getting the new 110 but will also be keeping my original . I am not a fan of electronics because I believe a Defender should be able to be repaired with a few tools in the middle of nowhere .
Kris Anon I had the privilege of driving the 110 at Eastnor. WOW what an accomplished all rounder... it’s quite astounding in both its on/off-road capabilities. As a novice, I felt confident and competent way beyond my actual skill level. And when we left the Discovery escort vehicles (on mud tyres) struggling to get out of the deep, deep rutted quagmire, (even though we were only on all terrain tyres) its true prowess shone through in abundance. This is a game changer...
Going to order one here in the states this spring, but the forums are killing y’all on reliability. This is my challenge to land rover uk and USA. Make a standard 100k mile full warranty let us know that y’all are backing the product 100 percent and the confidence will entice buyers to buy in giving Land Rover the numbers and money to continue this great vehicle for years to come.
Landrover for uk roads, Toyota land cruiser for adventure. Landrover are dellusional if they think anyones taking a 4 wheeled circuit board anywhere serious.
i would love to test what theyre talking about! i still have a doubt with this one! too much electronics is what im hearing , the scary air suspension and the double wishbone suspension meaning limited movement! its pretty much a discovery that resembles a defender! everything it has is on a discovery!
Should have called it Land Rover COUNTY as a tribute to the Defender would have made sense. That would have given it a chance. The Defender was a working platform. This one isnt and they have missed the point to what it was and should still be. They have all the electrics in the other lines of LR. WHY make it no usable?
My guess is that when new owners experience a massive electronic failure in this beauty, land rover is going to have to appologize to defender lovers and rename this car as what it should have called from the beggining....a DISCOVERY.
Hster - little do you understand. Complications & personal effort are what make journeys worth taking. Enjoy having a car that does all the work for you, I’ll enjoy doing all the work.
Hster Honesty, if you a crave some kind of 3D movie experience that you just have to sit there and watch the car do all the work... good for you. I’d honestly rather not get to the destination than be escorted there and feel zero sense of achievement because I had nothing to do with the outcome. Not to mention my 90 defender on 35s would get 10x as far as this new one because as soon as one input is faulty the car will be a limp home mode brick... it’s not built to survive anymore. It’s built to be easy. It’s built to be comfortable. It’s not a Landrover - it’s a Lazyboy recliner lounge.
