This hairstyle was really popular in my country (Ivory Coast) when I was in primary school. We call it "tôfi-tôfi" after a candy that has the same shape
The idea about two small braids at the front and huge one made from the rest of the hair gave me instant Sailor Moon Amazon Quartet vibes. Especially Besu Besu vibes. You should do it! 😆👍
@@makeda6530 Yeah! I don't know if she is in to anime and stuff like that, but it could be fun series. Recreating different extra anime hairstyles or something like that?
I think this was my favorite hairstyle from you since I subscribed!!! It looks extremely cute! Just my style. I loved it! Everything about it, the bubbles braids, the beads at the ends, the shells in a few bubbles. It looks amazing Viv! Could totally see this style in a bride doing a beach wedding. Honestly, you opened a new dream for hairstyle in me. I'm mesmerized!
I think this is my favourite hair style I've seen you do. I love it so much! Also I kinda wish this was the hair style the new Little Mermaid had bcause it has such ocean mermaid vibes and that red colour is gorgeous!
Lol yea it's an entire production/rabbit hole of ideas that she goes through to get her final look😁🙂. I often did the same thing went back and forth over a style idea until I finally got the style I liked. That part got on my nerves but I generally like the final results
My Grandmother used to love asking my Mom to put my hair in two pony tails on each side with these bubble braids. I used to hate it because I thought it made me look like a doll. I love seeing these now as an adult!
I would have loved to have seen your hubby's reaction! He must have been both amazed, and impressed. Every delightful new hairstyle deserves a night out in public, giving others the opportunity to see some kick-ass hair!
I always love watching you do your hair but this end result was even better than I expected! Look how gorgeous it turned out and the happiness it gave you made you shine!
i did this hair style on the weekend, for my birthday, i used marley hair which closely matches my own. i got a lot of compliments. in total i had 23. and it only took two packs of Marley hair!! one of the cheapest quickest styles to do. my whole head doing myself took no more than 6 hrs including sectioning. (which i struggle with)
This was the style that sent me looking for coloured braiding hair. I’m probably not going for bubble braids, but now I have blue and green braiding hair for buns when I do my next wash day.
I was skeptical after you were about 3/4 the way through (lol) but I trusted the process and I’m not going to lie, I was surprised how cute it was! I really liked it!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Yeeessss I’m on week 3 for mine and I’m in love 😍 if the take down goes well next week (or two lol), it will be my all time favorite long-term style. I didn’t add any hair and I’ve been washing them weekly.
@@justyourunaveragerandom2725 I’ve shampood with and without an applicator bottle and I don’t see a huge difference between the two. So moving forward I won’t use the bottle anymore. I don’t deep condition (but I also don’t do it often when my hair is loose). I do tea rinses and follow up with a leave-in or I leave my rinse out in my hair. I don’t slather my hair. I t-shirt and air dry. I retighten or fluff the bubbles as they’re air drying-this why you can’t make the rubber bands to tight. Due to my hair texture, this started out as an already frizzy and shrunken style, so washing it doesn’t make them look much different. I’ve gotten nothing but compliments all month. Especially my husband and my students, they love the beads, shells, and my texture (you’ll see what I mean if you wet them. My hair obviously curls up, but the rubber bands keep them stretched into this very tight wavey look-like a guy’s 360 waves. It’s very shiny✨). In the 4 weeks I’ve had them I did redo the front of my hair because I wanted a different side part and my hair had zero signs of loc’ing and was very soft. I hope this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions ☺️.
Update: Takedown complete 👍🏾 and for reference, I am type 4 at tailbone length. So if your hair is shorter it should take less time to do everything I’m about to explain. It took just as long to take out as it did to install, roughly 5-6 hours (I took a break to eat). The rubber bands that were tighter took longer to get out, especially at the back. I took them out root to tip using the metal rat tail comb and an elastic cutter. My hair was soft and conditioned at take down, since I washed it two days earlier. Detangling was a breeze, about 20-30 minutes total. The rubber bands that were too tight had some slight matting right at the root. I detangled with the Curl Peace Preshampoo, my paddle brush, followed by my rat tail comb to remove all the shed hair. No excess shedding beyond what I expected for 6 six weeks. My ends were twisted and beaded in the style. In October, I was already due for my 4-month trim (but I had decided to experiment with this style instead 🤪). So it had been 5 1/2 months since my last trim. My ends still looked good and I didn’t take off more than an 1.5 inches all around and redid my face frame (so I can see 😶🌫️). 🥰Hubby came home so I had to feed him. I will wash and deep condition in the morning and continue with my usual wash n goes. For the future, I’ll keep my same size sections, medium. And I’m not bringing my hair through the rubber band more than 3 times, so refluffing after washing and taking out the rubber bands will be even easier. It really doesn’t take much to get the look, especially if you have tight curls and lots of shrinkage. I absolutely loved washing and refluffing the style, so I’ll do that again. Because of everything I experienced with it, this will definitely be my new swimming/vacation hair style 👙🏊🏾♀️ 😎. And this is overall my new ✨F.A.V.O.R.I.T.E.✨protective style 😍 Let me know if you have any additional questions ☺️.
Love this! Going to go for a bit thinner puffs and try this with my pre-teens hair. Never though so many different styles with different color hair would look so good without full hair dye but you have show me the way through all these years.
