In this video, I take a look at Apple TV's new series The New Look, and analyze whether its first three episodes are in line with historical facts. Did the series do a good job of depicting the life of Coco Chanel and Christian Dior during World War II? Watch my video to find out!

I loved it as it gives an inside view on how people needed to survive WW2. I don’t think Americans can truly comprehend what people went through during that war. Nor could today’s American deal with the want and daily fear. In that respect it is a good glimpse on what we need to be wary of going forward with all the Imperialistic sorts out there craving power.

I knew a little of Coco Chanel and her Nazi collaboration but the Dior storyline is definitely more fascinating to me. I am looking forward to the remainder of the show. Love it so far

I’m surprised that more channels and more fashion outlets are not talking about the show. Personally, I love it because it marries to subjects that I am interested in. I love history, and I used to be really into fashion as well. All fashion has largely fallen away from peeking my interest anymore, I do really like that. This combines the two subjects this show is really good to watch, and I have limited knowledge on Coco Chanel and her 👀activities 👀 during the war, but I am waiting on the edge of my seat for the next episodes. Super excited thanks for sharing.

My wife and I really enjoyed this show. In 1965, I was traveling in Europe on a tour. I met up with my Aunt Zoe in Paris, she was a very fashionable lady. My Aunt took me to see a Dior fashion show. Normally, I wouldn't have been interested in attending that sort of thing, but I went with my Aunt Zoe and her 3rd husband Dr. John Larimer. My Aunt and Uncle were staying at a suite at the Ritz. What a unique opportunity to have to see a fashion show at the House of Dior. I got a little taste of that sort of life staying Ritz with my Aunt Zoe. While we were at the Ritz, Peter O'tool and Audrey Hepburn were making a movie at that time called, How to Steal a Million. I watched them film a scene in front of the Ritz. My Aunt had some great stories to tell about the Nazi occupation of Paris back in the early days. She was staying at the Ritz when the Germans occupied Paris. She had interesting stories about how she go home to the USA during that period.

I recently saw the series "Cristobal Balenciaga" and absolutely loved it. Although it wasn't in English, it was more entertaining to watch because it focused on the fashions and not the Nazis.

This is not a documentary. You can’t judge it in that light.

Coco was not forced . She stated her hatred for Jews even after the war. I agree. I wanted more about Dior. I stopped watching.

the fact that herve was prince louis in gossip girl and the show didn’t emphasize that is of paramount importance and also impardonable.

Hugo Becker is a bit persona non gratta in some circles in France after he accepted the lead role in a right-wing funded movie about the Vendée rebellion...

Great show and great breakdown, agree it seemed it was more about Chanel, it’s know that she was not forced to help the Nazi regime. Dior story needed more context.

I thought it was going to be like the Halston limited series -- just a simple biopic, lots of glam shots and gay bitching, little or no politics. I wasn't expecting the Nazi angle and was about to give this series a miss but then I thought: How appropriate. The world needs to be reminded of what is happening in Gaza now, under the Zionist Third Reich. The Jews are exacting their revenge on a people who had nothing at all to do with the Holocaust, whilst the actual perpetrators, the Germans, are simply standing back and actually cheering the Jews on in their genocidal mission.

No. This is very full of crap and trying to destroy Chanel. She had a past but I’ve done research on this woman and this show is pure bullshit.
