I used the ProFxV3 before switching to the new Mackie Onyx series that he as the GigFx and on board sd card recording. The adjustable effects are great!!!
Thank you for this video! I'm currently shopping for a mixer for use in DJ applications and am a little turned around by all the different models Mackie sells. In comparing this to the earlier V3 version (I'm specifically comparing the FX12V3+ 12 channel to the FX16V3...except for the Bluetooth on the V3+, the FX16V3 has features that might be more appealing for multiple applications (more aux's, more desirable power supply and usb connection, more inserts, etc). I'm trying to figure out what feature(s) the V3+ bring to the table that are truly differentiators. I don't necessarily need 16 channels, but 12 channels is as far as you can go with the V3+ models as you know. I'm also considering the Onyx line of mixers, which seems to be an amalgam of these mixers with the added ability to record and multitrack via USB to a computer...Any thoughts on why one model might be better than the other given I don't have anything yet? Too many options!
Hi. Thanks for your video. It’s been very helpful. I have one question. Could you please explain how and when I use the two buttons beside the main fader and sub 1-2? Thanks
Current setup is a DBX 286s going into an Audient Eco 4 into my DAW. I use the loopback on the Audient because I record two radio shows with a remote co-host. Would this be a worthwhile replacement for my current setup, in your opinion? I'm also a musician, wanting to do a bit more recording, but mostly will be using for recording radio shows. Worth replacing my current setup?
With the built-in FX, can you control the parameters via midi CC in the DAW? Also with the interface mode can you choose to use an effect while only recording the raw signal?
this is great. question though. I see you have the TASCAM. I have a Zoom F6. Im a videographer and have an event coming up of a panel discussion with 2 wireless mics (the receiver of the mics would go into input 1 and 2 on the mixer) and the main outs on the mixer would be going to the PA speakers. how would I record 2 separate tracks on my Zoom F6 of both wireless mics? I want to independently record each mic to input 1 and 2 on my Zoom F6. How would I go about doing that? I see you have the CR out from mixer to your Tascam but it's going to record the entire Mix isn't it? any help would be greatly appreciated. great breakdown video though! Im interested in this thing!
Hi. I just bought the New Mackie profx 6v3+. I am running windows 10. I downloaded the new drivers 5.5.8.0. For some weird reason my computer keeps on freezing once I plug in usb. I can't run any other applications when the Mackie is plugged in..any idea what the problem CV could be??
Well the output will be sent through the balanced ouput regardless, but it still wont get the advantage of a balanced signal being originally an unbalanced signal. But that's normal for unbalanced sources when recording and always will be. Balanced signals work like a humbucker on a guitar to achieve a clearer sound with less or no interference/noise by means of the hum bucking aspect of humbuckers, balanced signals work the same way.
The only issue I have with the GigFX is that it doesn't remember your last selection when you power off the mixer. If you put the mixer on Hall Reverb for example and if you cycle the power, it will go back to the Delay effect. I hope Mackie releases a firmware update to fix this issue
