@@Chaitea-lx8qqyea idk im all for this if the story is good the animation is questionable at times but megaminds new voice sounding like it came from a video game tie in is gonna take some getting used to
The premise sounds good, but the animation is TERRIBLE!!!!! WHAT HAPPENED, DREAMWORKS?! YOU GUYS CAN DO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!!! It doesn't look like Dreamworks, this looks one of the ripoff movies that confuses your grandma!!!
I always hate it when Dreamworks just give their greatest projects the “Boss Baby treatment” with not so good animation, no returning voice actors, and it feels cheap. Heck even The Bad Guys had the same treatment from their Christmas special on Netflix.
Can't wait for Puss in Boots 2.5, a 20 Minute Blender graduate limited time Hulu short where Puss tries to learn what a "Gyatt" is on his way to Shrek and Fiona
@@SkipiDob14 years later for it to have less polished animation? Just this alone is ridiculous. The strory seems to make little to no sense with the previous movie too. It is that bad.
@@SkipiDob I would have preferred we didn't. Something is not always better than nothing. You can't possibly be saying that if, for example, the sequel was just 2 hours of Megamind sitting on a chair and doing nothing you would be happy just because we got a sequel?
Why didn’t DreamWorks work on it themselves and have it that MegaMind try to join the villain group in the past only to get rejected and now years later have him be seen as betrayal to villainy by others villains and focus on MegaMind trying to be a hero while villains are coming after him for different reasons and stuff you know.
@@demongamer_IX yeah there’s a a lot they could have done in the squeal like what was MegaMind’s early villain days like how many heroes and villains where there most of which could have been MegaMind’s fault in creating super power minions that backfired before his brain bots have him face his past actions of villainy and have him try to make it up while villains are making him look and feel bad as both a hero and villain or have a whole secret society of villains plotting way to destroy the new big hero that stuff heck I take the fan girl characters being twist villain and finding way to control Metro Man story over what we’re getting in the actual squeal.
@Hi-Im-saladgrow up? Tell that to the people behind this sequel, the trailer even compares scenes from the original which at that point, they’re pretty much showing us “Yeah, our budget is a pile of steaming shit, compared to the first movie”
The only way dreamworks can redeem themselves in terms of megamind is just to make an acutla 2nd movie and list this as non canon and just make us forget about this garbage
@@zeldagameryt4018the last wish is cannon tho and so is puss in boots one number 1 takes place before shrek one and the last wish takes place after number 4
The quality of Dreamwork spinoffs always just looked so lifeless: Boss Baby Back in Business and That Bad Guys Holiday Special especially come to mind. Everything looks so cheap and almost like they were free 3D models bought in a store. And it’s even worse when the actors can’t even voice the character
I'm honestly just happy DreamWorks is continuing to expand on its movies through TV series. I just wasn't expecting a full-blown TV budget sequel movie to Megamind. I just wish they'd do the same with Rise of the Guardians.
@sukumadehk I meant that the Megamind sequel looks more like the budget of a TV special. And if they do decide to make a Rise of the Guardians TV show, I'm just the kind of person to appreciate any kind of story as long as it's enjoyable. And so far, I've found Dreamwork's TV shows enjoyable, even Dragons: The Nine Realms, despite that show's many many too on the nose flaws.
i literally thought that DreamWorks forgot about rise of the guardians tbh. i really hope they expand on that though but I'm also scared that they might ruin that as well...
@clutchthecinnamonsergal8493 From writing perspective, there was so much wrong with the Nine Realms, but from a story lover's perspective, I at least enjoyed it. To me, the best stories are epic stories, and the How To Train Your Dragon series was epic... until Hidden World, not gonna get into that can of worms, but I at least still like a story if it's at least enjoyable no matter continuity or writing errors. When I saw Nine Realms, it did feel like it was written halfly by people who didn't watch the original franchise, but the half that seemed to at least showed that they tried somewhat, even though it still didn't work. Either way, why I don't love Dragons: Nine Realms for what it is, I at least enjoy it for what it is.
I wish this didn’t exist………majorly horrible, first time seeing a video from you, I know this sequel will fail, of course I will not this movie fully……..I remember seeing the first movie since it hit theaters in November 5, 2010 from 4th grade….and people actually did ask for a sequel since 2010, and we waited 13 years for nothing………I also wish everything from this movie was fixed like you said, and it actually goes INTO movie theaters and NOT A FRICKING STREAMING SERVICE!!!!!
I think this is not an official Megamind sequel, its more of a tv movie non-canon to the original film. Alongside with, Will Ferrell not returning as Megamind because of the new Despicable Me 4 film. As well as the show too, i don't think its canonical to the film. And maybe DreamWorks would be working on a Megamind sequel later this year or the next.
I’m getting the impression some higher up approved a sequel because someone asked for it due how it’s being fondly remembered in recent years, but said higher up gave it little to no budget because in reality they just wanted to shut them up.
You do realize this isn't an official MegaMind 2, it's just a prequel TV movie to a TV show, much like the Clone Wars was. It wasn't like the Clone Wars became Star Wars Episode III instead of Revenge of the Sith because it took place before it, this is a totally separate entity and it's more of a spinoff than a sequel.
Lol what’s funny is that they kinda reused the plot of the old Megamind video game where he went against another group of villains called The Doom Syndicate
There’s a reason for all these years I’ve been saying “As much as I want a 2nd movie for Megamind, I don’t think I want one now since modern writing will just ruin its continuity” And boy did that age well and came true……. Though one thing I would’ve liked although would’ve still ruined Megamind’s character (cause again he was outcasted) but it’s still better than the current doom syndicate, Was to have the Doom Syndicate from the Megamind Video game, although they still won’t be all that good, they would’ve been “SO MUCH BETTER” than a Bomb Voyage rip off, or some lava thing. Cause The video game doom syndicate actually were one of the best things about the video game (though the Megamind game wasn’t the greatest, still holds my childhood somewhat)
Admittedly yes, the animation and graphics would be downgraded a bit due to being a Peacock exclusive but still, DreamWorks was doing so well with Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and The Bad Guys.
I remember what I first heard that a series was in production I made to keep my expectations a bit low (but now after watching it I'm still disappointed)
Megamind Fans: “You think this is funny?” Dreamworks: “In a cosmic sort of way, yes.” Megamind Fans: “Well, Mr Funny Man, i...is how you get your sick kicks?!” Dreamworks: “What, it's just an oridinary Megamind sequa- 2:18 *OH MY GOODNESS!!!”*
Dude, you got every point exactly right Megamind was one of my favorite movies, when I was a kid It’s so good, I’m only trashing the show because it’s such a garbage remake. Honestly, the fact that Will Ferrell isn’t in it is a big blow, but if they got someone else to do it and animated, it’s super good and had another amazing actor. It would be one of the greatest movies ever but this sucks. It’s the most embarrassing animation I’ve ever seen really cringe.
My family loves megamind so much, that one time we referenced half of the movie. I hope and pray to god I will never have to see this new movie ever. It has that The Bad Guys: A very bad holiday animation where it’s dirt cheap and only costs $1 per second (which sounds like a lot but in animation it’s cheap), it has the fanfiction vibe where a 6-year old made a drawing of villians and they stole it, and the fact they added in a little child to act as the ‘any kid can help megamind’ schtick to make kids feel cooler. AND THE CHERRY ON TOP, WILL FARREL ISNT IN IT AKA THE FUNNY MAN ACTOR CHAMPION
As soon as I saw the animation and heard the z-list voice acting, I knew something was horribly wrong. This is giving me serious Back in Business, Legends of Awesomeness, and Buck Wild vibes, and I don’t like it.
I think megamind is one of those movies that really doesn't need a sequel. It told its story the first time around and that's it. Sure maybe a TV series, but we definitely don't need a full on new movie.
It looks like one of those Christmas specials that is on streaming services from the same universe as the movie counterpart (like the bad guys a very bad holiday) that has less budget because it is not coming theatres
Well, now that we have this animation test, hopefully DreamWorks will put there shit together and make a proper sequel that isn’t a streaming service exclusive.
Megamind got a small sequel years ago that dived into him getting used to being a hero and failing whikst learming he can be a hero in his own way by repurposing his villian weapons and gadgets to help people. To me thats enough, we don't need this, never have
One thing is wrong about the Megamind cartoon Will Ferrell cast a villain in Despicable Me 4. But in Megamind cartoon he didn't return to voice Megamind Again😫. (Ding)
I'm suspicious about the DS "Megamind: The Blue Defender" might have been the sequel way back when but was made into a video game because if might not have gotten the popularity that they would have expected
We could've gotten another amazing movie about Megamind failing as the role of protector and dealing with that grief or something like that. But no, generic trash.
I initially didn't want to click on the video seeing the first frame, thinking that this had to be an AI Generated joke. Though it would not surprise me if the plot atleast did turn out to be AI generated. I wonder why this was made in the first place, they clearly didn't have faith in the Megamind IP. Otherwise the sequel would have been not only made sooner but given more care. If anything they harm it's value and future potential. What did they seek to gain making this?
I’m surprised no one thought this (or the show I guess since that’s what was announced first) would happen. I knew the show would suck cause every dream works show/streaming project kinda sucks
The original movie was a family movie, it wasn’t just a dumb kids movie, it had themes and clever jokes for the adults to enjoy. It didn’t feel like a kids movie. this new one is clearly for toddlers.
