The refraction of a textured solar panel is the nicest looking thing on a watch. The old Eco Drives are so nice looking. A dimensional pyramid grid on the next one would be amazing.
I have an OG Casioak (Resin, battery operated) but THIS is the variant I've been patiently waiting on! I've put this on my wish list for my 60th birthday in October and informed my wife and kids ❤
Let's gooo! As a GA-B2100 user this comes as a great upgrade / companions for it. The black-on-black one just hits the spot for me! I can't wait to have it available in the shops. Nice review, big up! 👏
take a look at model GM-2100CB-3AJF , really really nice black dial on dark stainless/resin case, with just a few turquoise accents. It is one of the non-bluetooth/solar models, which I prefer to go without
Nice review. I will definitely order the black on black one even though I didn't take part in your survey 😅 I particularly like the new watch face and Bluetooth solar function. Great watch. Thank you 👌
"Years of waiting. Too long in fact" Why are we so impatient, especially when talking about tools to mark the passage of time? The Casioak has only existed for five years, and features were added each of the past few years. The full-metal had to be the first with Bluetooth and Tough Solar, to differentiate it from the half-metal with a 3x price increase. Casio then had to give the full-metal versions a few years head start before adding BT/TS to the half-metal versions. People really, *really* need to stop saying, "Sapphire crystal would have been preferred" [4:00] This is a G-SHOCK, sapphire crystal shatters more easily than mineral glass, which scratch more easily. G-Shocks are supposed to get scratched but not shatter, that's literally why G-Shock exists. The Midnight Fog GM2100 [3:30] was my gateway drug... 😂 I now await the full-metal Casioak as a 'professional/business casual' option, delivery expected tomorrow.
@@Serkong Because most people are going to wear the $4k watch more carefully than the $600 watch. The $1700 titanium square also has sapphire glass, because the upgrade in the metal and the glass went together.
@@Serkong The 4k version is part of the "luxury collection". Scratch-resistance is prioritized over other aspects of durability, such as not shattering.
I just pull the trigger and bought one. Just like yours... I'm really anxious to put my hands on it, I already have the original all black G2100 and waited all this time to the metal oak with tough solar + bluetooth... has been years avoinding the temptation to purchase the non-solar models... my focus It finally payed off!!
Update: I just got mine. Honestly? It feels MUCH better in person than on video. I've seen great reviews (especially this one), but in person... spectacular! If anyone is in doubt, just pull the trigger and finalize the purchase!
Great review. I've been pondering which model to buy. I've thought of getting that full metal GM-B2100 but glad I'd waited. Definitely getting this one soon!
I just got the black dial version. Great combination of style, functionality and comfort. Can be easily dressed up or dressed down. It is the perfect GADA watch. The polished silver metal watch head may be a little bit blingy for those who prefer stealth.
I have had this watch prior to release. You can see the improvement for sure. Having worn it for the past two months, here is my thoughts. The band/strap just feels the weakest link here. Maybe that’s a biased thought, but it feels cheap. Of course in the real world, the digital screens are still hard to read. But the led light is a great option. The app allows for modifications to how things can be viewed but I much prefer the setting of the time to be perfect. Those folks that travel and want accurate time, this might be the jam. The lume does not last very long, but again the led light makes up for that. The case is slightly shiny or polished, and starts to show some wear or “dirt” depending on the activity. Honestly, the normal 2100 is a great watch. This just feels like new game plus.
I’ve got a resin model with the Bluetooth and tough solar and have been wondering for months if they’d introduce those features to the metal version. At last! I know they have Bluetooth and tough solar on the full metal version but at £450 that’s way too much. This is perfect
@@saint7796 With G-shocks, it's never easy. Even if it's easy with this particular model, you always need to change it with a propriety G-shock strap, or obtain some 3rd party adapters.
Really like it however, I wouldn't have Bluetooth written on the dial. With a stylish piece, less is more for me. If you bought it, you'd know you have it.
I am not sure if getting the ga2100 in black or this one or the blue one. But at the same time not sure if the blue is the right choice. It seems watches keep making the Tiffany blue.. one question.. is it bigger than the ga2100. I might be more leaning towards this one and the ga2100 in black.. has to have the positive display. I understand the module is different in this model maybe better than the one in ga2100. The difference is substancial more than 100 quid for.a better case and strap.... Not sure...
exactly that's what driving me away from solar ones . i mean common they shud hv giv us separate display for permanent date day month . my cheapest sonata Fibre has it all . toggling between functions removes the purpose of hving ana digi watch
The full black one is 250 without solar charge and the solar one is 599... Is it worth paying that much more for getting the solar charging and bluetooth?
What currency are you talking about? Where I'm at, the full resin is about 100, the metal case one without Bluetooth is 175 and this one metal+solar+bluetooth is 250.
I have the black dial version, the white strap version, and the blue dial version. The Black dial is the most legible version!!! The blue the worst legible under bad light situations.
Exactly! No Multiband 6... not perfect. I'm quite happy with my GA-B2100... but I'd be happier if it had Multiband 6 like all my other Casio wristwatches.
Just taken delivery of my Tiffany Blue version. It won't register on my iphone Casio app or synch. I don't have any trouble from my other two Casioak bluetooth enabled models. Any ideas?
But we don’t want the full metal! Too heavy. We want this resin straps, perfect for sports as well 🙌🏼 the black is also the most legible so far . And price way better then the metals
The strap for this watch blows. For smaller wrists it’s impossible to get a good sizing and it’s just bad. I got my wife a special edition metal 2100 and the resin white strap it came with was super buttery and soft. Then they release the tough solar models with this garbage lol it’s hard to understand
