I must clarify that the BYD company is not in the United States, but it´s headquarters are in Shenzhen Guangdong, China, founded in February 1985 to develop electrification and sustainability projects in various transport sectors, in the USA they have a technology park for the development, research and testing of electric propulsion systems in association with MidAmerica Energy Holdings & Co since 2008, nice video and greetings from Venezuela

You can't call them 0 emissions because they are charged off the grid! Also,you ain't going to get maybe 2 or 3 years out of the batteries and they are going to be extremely expensive to replace and even more expensive to dispose of. Not to mention the Truly Gigantic carbon footprint of the mining ,shipping to processing plant,shipping to manufacturer,and then shipping to the retailer,and finally to the end user! Until they invent a better battery,electric vehicles, especially heavy trucks,are gonna be a neat gimmick! If you want to get away from big diesel engines making big diesel emissions, seriously try to make diesel electrics,like the big mine haul trucks ,and trains! Not batteries! The technology just ain't there yet.

You hit many nails on the head here. In another video I've see for these things (comments are disabled) they state " Carbon Neutral", how on earth is it carbon neutral in Australia??? if it charges off the grid then it is far from carbon neutral. Do they think we are that naïve?
@jimdavison4077
@jimdavison4077 Год назад
In 2021 the Chinese recycled 236 thousand tons of lithium, South Korea 36 thousand tons. They USA only recycled 30 thousand tons. It's thinking like yours that holds the US so far back in technology. Ironically we generate 98% of the power we use by Wind turbines alone but sadly over 60% of that is shipped to the USA. Now why can't the US make their own wind power? Sure isn't the lack of wind, all kinds of it. Batteries last a lot longer than a couple years, not sure where you get that from. Also they hold value even when they need to be recycled because of the materials inside them. The technology is there now, large factories have large areas which can be covered with solar panels to provide all the energy for their fleets daily use. Battery changing stations can be set up along transportation lines using green energy and free of the existing grid. If people can't see the solutions it's because they don't want to see them.
@jimdavison4077
@jimdavison4077 Год назад
@@tony101277 Clearly you never watched the entire video they made because they covered it. Not hard to cover factories or depots with solar panels or place wind turbines near them to harness the wind. Here is Canada the grid uses only 18% fossil fuels, that's for the entire nation. Here in PEI we produce 98% of the KWH used daily from wind turbines. Sadly we sell over 60% to the USA though. Still the only fossil fuel power comes from temporary diesel generators used for emergency and to keep them in service. Otherwise it comes from a mixture of Hydro or nuclear, wind and solar. So every EV within the province is Carbon free in it's operation. But even in areas where the grid uses oil or coal it's smarter to use EV's as they can be twice to three times as efficient as ICE powered vehicles. Even the very best ICE engines are 30 efficient or less. Electric motors are 75% or higher. Smarter to make Electricity than but fuel ones in an ICE engine.

Electric trucks won't work in a heavy haul situation it would use batteries up fast. Also trying to recharge a battery out on the road you would loose time on your 14 hr clock now you will be less productive. Will the company pay you to sit and wait for the batteries to be recharged? I don't think so! Remember it the wheels are not turning your not earning.

I understand companies are going to electric but I'll stick with diesel. Atleast if the motor goes out in it then it won't cost more then the truck is worth...... I would rather work with something I know will last. I mean I'm fir change but in the right direction. Electric vehicles unless you can go the distance a diesel and pull what a diesel can they are useless in a commercial vehicle. I'm surprised Kenworth even got into it this early. Not hard feels to the ones that want an electric vehicle though.
@iamReddington
@iamReddington 3 года назад
I get electric doesn't let you go as far, but you sound more like a super trucker who thinks older style trucks will forever be the best. Y'all do realize how much diesel pollutes the earth, right?
@hilham89
@hilham89 3 года назад
@@iamReddington sure you can think that. Next time your waiting on a delivery and the electric truck is setting on the side of the road because there out of charge then you will want that diesel back on the road. Just saying. I never said that electric truck won't work I just stated they released them to early. They're alot they need to put in perspective before just throwing an electric semi on the road. Like I said the electric cars sure they seem to be doing well, but they don't pull the weight or go the miles with weight that a truck has to go nor do they go through the abuse. People doesn't know or think what a trucker actually goes through. That's why I will stick with what I said before. It wont change my mind either and again as stated before no hard feelings to anyone that wants the electric trucks but you're wrong on one thing it's not the diesel that pollutes earth. Hints why all v8 emissions are going bye bye. I ain't saying that diesel doesn't pollute but why exactly do you think they run DEF on newer diesel's now? Cleanburning exhaust.....right? Try again.
