It's badass that the devs cared to add a bow to Samurai. Not many people are aware of the fact that for CENTURIES, wars in feudal Japan were fought on horseback which is why the swords got progressively smaller as the need for the presence of cavalry in wars declined. This is promising because it shows that they're willing to actively research and learn if it's in the interest of adding to and otherwise improving Project Smash. I was apprehensive about them when I saw your Valkyrie showcase because it seems like they really gimped out on every aspect of that character's design *except* for the VFX, which aren't important to a combat game. The addition of a bow to the Samurai also means that they know they need to innovate when it comes to characters that could be seen as "echo fighters" to existing characters, as Samurai could have easily just been a better clone of Ninja or Knight. Kind of like Samus vs Dark Samus in Smash Ultimate. There's a lot of hope and potential here and they're learning through trial and error, which I love to see because too many battleground devs are so lazy and just.. straight up retarded. This will probably be one of the best battleground games ever made on Roblox if they keep going up instead of stagnating like they did with the Valkyrie release. I should also add that the long startup on the bow's attack is probably not only so that it's reactable, but also so that you can properly aim it within a certain window. It "sort of" working after the third attack seems more like user error to me, since the bow for Samurai is giving me shades of how the bow in Breath of the Wild works when you're in mid air.
They didn't add a bow to Samurai because Samurais use bows, that's because the whole character is a reference to Genichiro from Sekiro, from the moves to the weapons. Ninja is also a reference to Sekiro from the way he uses firecrackers to stun enemies. Well, the relation is accurate to Samurai culture itself because Sekiro itself is accurate to Samurai culture.
sakura dance is op, since u can hit them to the edge and use sakura dance to cause them straight fall to void. even if they are recovering u can still slam them to death at early percent
@@theholygrailIm like 30 seconds in the video but if you use Sakura dance, jump and use 3rd or 4th move quick enough you can hit them and will be a finisher
fr he used the moves in the wrong order, he tried to use the teleport to dash forward and then tried to use the dash like move to boost himself up with knockback, which he should of done with the teleport
Hold up.. this looks alot like genichiro ashina from sekiro shadows die twice. Like a sword and a bow, the first move being named "sakura dance" which is a move from sekiro, the move's animation isnt like the game though. But sakura shot looks ALOT like genichiro's bow move when you fight him. so im kinda thinkin that they had inspiration from sekiro.
Honestly, the combo potential on this character is crazy and im hoping that future character have similar if not TSBG level of combo potential Also that arrow move is so broken, its basically instant recovery.
8:09 when you use 2 the bow shot, make sure u look behind you too make it knock you forward. plus, don't spam all your jumps. when recovering, dash after almost everything you do. For example: uppercut, dash jump, use a move, dash, jump and uppercut, use another move, dash again use another move and if u need it, use ur last jump and uppercut or another move if it's off cd by then.

Here’s a combo for samurai downslam into Sakura shot 3 m1s in to four then m1 three times in to the third move and while you use it use the first move this combo does good damage

fun fact: ninja bomb do knockback to the one throw it too, so u can use it as a boost. Simply use the bomb while ur running and it will boost u by a ton. This is very useful to get rlly high to the air or save urself from falling off the map, although it is rlly risky
Tbh, i saw FadeUnchanged play with the character and it was fine (beside the lotus cleave from what i remember) im pretty sure it was mainly the connection to the opponents that were screwing you over
Only 2 things. 1: the 4th move also has an air variation. You'll charge to them, stab them and kick them away (combo ender). 2: as someone who used to play on 13 frames and 130 ms, I can confirm that lag can prevent you from getting knocked away far. (I once got hit by a smash attack on 150~ and didn't go all that far.)
Aerial Flourish Blossom knockback is huge and effective somewhere 130+ or more. There's a combo that can be follow up after Sakura Dance, which is Aerial Flourish Blossom. Let me write down the combo 3x M1s -> Sakura Shot (bypasses block but more likely hit or miss) -> 3x M1s -> Sakura Dance -> Aerial (To simplify, Midair) Flourish Blossom OR Lotus Cleave while you aim it up high at them. Jump to activate Aerial moves Samurai has two knockback move, Lotus Cleave and Aerial Flourish blossom. Now, Ground Flourish Blossom can be follow up after Sakura shot if you want the whole moveset combos unless you don't want to risk it big so stick without ground Flourish Blossom.
And to make it worse, it droped with a bug that teleported you to a person after hitting them with the first skill, i was getting abosoluty pummeled by that bug.All they had to do was spam 1 and then use 4 right after to hit you with the air form of 4 which does a shit ton of knockback. It's a good thing the devs fixed it
Best way to recover with most characters: While facing land: dash, jump, dash, jump, uppercut, ability, ability, uppercut, ability. After that you are just dead and there is no hope for you

8:16 You want better recovery? Well then, start by when being pushed off, doing these moves Spam uppercut until it works, then dash, jump, dash, jump, dash, jump, dash, uppercut, dash and then moves 👍
Common misconception of a samurai : They actually don’t have a katana as their main weapon, it’s their sub when they run out of arrows or lost their long spears (which are their actual 2 main weapons)
