My favorite part of SHOT '24 is PSA just dragging their sacks all over everyone else. MP7 at home everyone's been begging for? .308 JAKL? Bullpup JAKL? Factory customizable bolt gun with Rem 700 parts compatibility? 10mm Dagger? Pump gun with optic cut, beveled loading port, better safety, and good furniture? The VUK? Just killing it all around.
@@BullsMahunny My other favorite part is other companies now trying to sell "budget" ARs because PSA has proven these "manufacturers" that don't even make their own parts selling basically mil-spec ARs for $1,500-3k are absolutely gouging customers.
This is hands-down most innovative pump-action shotgun in years: no hyperbole, no exaggeration. It's very surprising how nobody has made a shotgun this modular yet. Many good features! optic cut, high-ready action release, modularity, and 870 parts compatibilty are all huge. I cannot put into words how big of a deal this is. Anyone who's worked-on/shot a lot of pump action shotguns should understand what I mean.
Full agree. Anyone who says it's "just another pump" doesn't get it. Imagine if they bring this thing to market for significantly less than a Moss 590? With all those features?
I think James already did that with all his tactical shotgun videos, I already picked up a Beretta A300 UP and gear for it. I'm interested in this PSA option since barrels for semi-auto shotguns cost more than new pump actions and I want to try clay shooting and other stuff.
@@John_Redcorn_what are even talking about? There are only 3 companies in the world that make quality shotguns: Beretta, Mossberg and Remington (Remington is trying their best to not stay on that list). Shotguns haven’t changed AT ALL in the last 30+ years. In that same period of time there have been 743 new polymer striker 9s, 387 new PCCs that are just range toys, and 3,213,670 AR accessories. It’s so bleak that people lost their shit when Beretta put two MLok slots on front of the A300. Believe me, there is room for some innovation in the shotgun market…
@@rustys.1070 Just like with all gun companies, they do have issues. Thing is, PSA is amazing about replacing and assisting with these issues and getting them fixed in later versions.
@@blackout_ghost did you really just use the word beta LMFAO, you couldn't of sounded like more of a pathetic little kid saying that. Lmfao, that's just sad.
Please bring this to market PSA! I know it's in 5th or 6th place on your poll, but this product fits a perfect area that hasn't been filled. I'd love for my first pump to be a PSA
Make it have choke barrel options and make it run mini shells flawlessly and this will own the pump market. I'm getting ready to purchase a Mossberg 590s for a kind of do it all work horse shotgun but I'm absolutely going to pick one of these up when they release. It even looks better than the 590 and 870. PSA is really making all these other manufactures look bad. I love it.
A 590 is not really a do it all shotgun, so far only an 870 is(if you have one without a dimpled mag tube). Lack of ability to put chokes in, don't think there is a hunting barrel available on the 590. As far has a defensive shotgun the 590 is hard to beat without breaking the bank, but I think of it being specific to that role.
@chizorama the 590S has chokes, takes mini shells, has 20" barrel option, ghost ring sights, mlok handgaurd, red dot cuts. What more do you want to define it for a do it all? They make bird guns in the 590 platform as well. You can literally hunt almost anything in North America with the 590S then take it home and use it for home defense.
PSA once again is killing it, this has been my favorite SHOT I’ve seen since I started keeping up with it 7 years ago. X57? Build your own shotgun? Build your own bolt action? Sabre Dagger? 308 and 9MM JAKL? Bullpup JAKL? What a time we live in
They finally made their own Glock (Dagger) inexpensive as it should have been, via the injection molded polymer frame (cheap), stamped steel parts (cheap) et al, that Glock Inc still sells an arm and a leg for. With Glock you ended up paying for the name...
@@Hjerte_Verke In the past 6 months I've bought 2 daggers. Not because I needed them, but because at the price point they sold it at I couldn't turn it down. I agree, Glock you are paying for the name, and really it is just a mediocre gun that is very reliable if you don't limp wrist it. At what they are likely to be selling the shotgun for, it's going to be another one I'm not going to pass up.
Gotta love PSA. They just continue to be a company of the people. They listen to their customers and try and produce what the people want. Good products for good prices. Love this "modular" shotgun concept, it's awesome.
And yet the tang safety (stolen from Mossberg 500), while ambidextrous, is still not ideal if you have a pistol grip or a pistol grip buttstock in use. Either of those and the tang safety is now out of (easy) reach. They really should put the safety in front of or behind the trigger (Maverick 88 and Rem 870 style, respectively) and also make it ambidextrous---which is a tall order.
@@redtra236 No it's still horrible. It snags on clothing, blunt objects, seat belts and similar either engaging the safety or disengaging it, when you didn't want to. Debris, snow, freezing rain can get in there too and render the safety inoperable. That's bad juju for a tactical/war/self defense weapon. Like, don't ever take it outside in the elements and you'll be fine.
@@Hjerte_Verke Never had any issues with them at all when hunting with them even when dropped in the mud. I definitely prefer them over the trigger guard safeties but I will agree the risk of it getting bumped is a little higher.
As a competitive shooter with the majority of my trigger time being with shotguns, I'm excited to see the integrated optics cut. And given that its PSA, it probably won't break the bank!
PSA ROCKS! I can't wait to build one of these 570s with a 18 or 20 inch barrel, with screw in chokes, or maybe a fixed modified or improved choke (whichever one can hold the tightest pattern with buckshot but still tolerate slugs) and a 7 round tube. I love the idea of picking the tube you want rather than having to add on mag tube extentions that have a bad habit if working loose. This is gonna be sweet!
You should become modular yourself, like this shotgun. You're kind of limiting yourself by not being a "______ guy" because the shotgun and its ammo is one of the most varied platforms extant, and I mean that by the vast totality of cartridges/cartridge types available.
There's a company that makes mini shell kits for Mossberg and Remington. I'm 99% positive one of the kits will work. It's not just a rubber plug, it's the lifter and internal parts re-engineered. Runs anything from mini's to 3" magnums.
This is a big win for the shotgun crowd. Stripping the gun without removing the barrel, swapping mag tubes without a heat source, replacing receiver and bolt parts without a gunsmith, all of these are big improvements, and that's without the obvious ergonomic changes with the action bar release and having replaceable height front sights with a pistol notch rear. So many upgrades you'd only see from companies like Vang with features we didn't even know were possible, all in one package
So this is basically a Mossberg 500 and a 870 had a kid. Thats not a bad thing. Love the placement of the bolt release. Its like a Remington model 10 or 29.
Looks much like a Mossberg-like "clone" with better features and ergos, Remington furniture, and a supply system to make it your own part by part. Friggin unbelievable, Palmetto, keep the good work coming. This is probably the best time to be a PSA fan EVER!
Take my...nevermind. Back to work for a while. Haha Seems like a perfect company to bring all the Rem & Mossy features into 1 model. Steel receiver & durability of Rem, open loading port & tang safety from Moss. 👍
Most interesting thing for me this year. My question is if the receiver is bought separately can it be assembled as a 'Shockwave-style' AOW without being a short-barrel shotgun?
I know its optics ready, but i hope it still has a regular bead sight, I'm used to it and I hope it keeps that traditional sight. I am an avid skeet shooter and would love to buy this as a more tactical variant of what I use. Also PSA, release a semi auto shotgun, like the mossberg 930?
Interesting. I like it, although personally I don’t think I’m gonna convert over from my Mossberg 500, which already has the main features that I wanted (tang mounted safety, easy to work on, substantial aftermarket support, barrels can be easily changed for different lengths, slugs, etc.) Optics ready and a high-ready action release… probably nice to have, but not essential for me. Still, if I didn’t already have a shotgun, this would definitely peak my interest. Well done PSA!
Has to be better than recent production 870s, my Ithaca 37 in 16 gauge that was made in 1940 is still functioning perfectly. My dads 870 in 12 gauge that he bought in 2017 has already worn to frequently misfeed and hang up when cycling the action.
