I am a licensed barber and have the original cordless Masters (2 of them) from two to three years ago. They are loud! However, my friend/barber cut my hair today with the newer version that you have that he just got, and I can most def confirm that Andis did something different with the cordless masters that make them much much quieter. That is what brought me to your video. I might send my cordless Masters out to get whatever new tech they used to quiet them. Thanks for the video!!
Barber student checking in: I can definitely attest to the fact that the newer cordless Master with the new logo are quieter than the original! I just recently bought some and the company I bought them from sent me a pair of the older models with the OG font(yes they were new, they just happened to be the older model). Fresh out of the box the one I brought were much louder than my classmates who had the newer versions. Even though the ones that were sent to me were brand new they were still louder than his. My classmate’s are about a year old and he cut a pretty high volume of people and his Master still are quiet. I’m sending mines back and ordering some more in hopes to get the newer version. I love the way these clippers cut and fade! I hope this helps !
Yes, I sent mine in months ago and what a difference!!! They replaced the battery, blade, cam (I think the part that makes them quiet again), and circuit board. Like brand new now. Costs $75 I think. I will say that I believe there is something different in the way they rev. At times they sound like they rev up and down. I believe that’s the continuous motor working to make sure they don’t bog down. That’s a tad annoying. My barber buddy got two brand new pairs and they are most def quieter, but they both do that rev up and down noise. I complained about that and they offered me a one time deal (after sending back three times) to replace with a brand new pair for free. After using, I decided to stick with my old pair that were tuned up because they are working great. I’ll take the revving sound any day compared to the chainsaw sound they once had. Good luck bud.
I paid the original tune up fee (again I think $75) which makes them “like” new again When they came back they were def much much quieter, but they had that revving sound. I called them again and they sent me a free shipping label to send them back in. They came back and still had that rev sound. After the third time, they sent me label that allowed me to send my clippers in to swap for a brand new pair. Because I know the revving happens with all new clippers (two pairs of my friends), I decided to not chance having a different issue since mine were working and sounding great (minus that slight revving every once in a while). Btw, the revving sound is tolerable, where as that old loud sound was unbearable and embarrassing. Hope this makes sense 🤷🏻.
The reviews are from professional barbers who use their tools daily in high volume. The parts will wear, and with that, the loudness comes. The reviews on the loudness of the masters are valid. I own two masters and have replaced the yoke regularly to avoid this issue. They hum pretty when they are new but will get loud on you if not taken care of.
That's interesting. Thanks for the info. So are they available to purchase and replace? Is that the little piece that comes with with the Gold Masters?
@@nogoodreviewson it will get worn out faster if you cut with them daily. Every 6 months or so. For some odd reason every brand has a different way to name that piece Wahl call it cam follower but Andis call it blade yoke. And yes you can buy it separately. (Andis included an extra “blade yoke” with the gold and copper limited edition clippers)
Hi! I heard these were the best so I got them. I like them. I would definitely recommend the Andis Masters, but I'm not a barber and I'm not saying they're the best.
They're great : ) I'm looking to do a update video soon because one of the comments stated that the noise gets louder when a part wears over time so I want to see if they're louder a year later.
So did I. After you accept the "cookies" prompt, it takes you to the cordless Andis Master page. Or just go to Andis.com and click around. It's literally their flagship/ main signature product. They are on their website for sure.
